I adjusted my trigger by not only removing the adjustment Allen screw but also removing the spring that sits behind that screw. The trigger breaks sub one pound.
My full.length 22" barrel ruger american rim fire rifle in standard configuration was $330.00 plus tax & nix check here in n.y. maybe I got lucky & got one that was made when all the best people were working that day,but I dont think so cause I have the exact same gun in .22wmagnum & both function flawless & are incredible accurate right out of the box with just a little experimentation with commonly available .22 cal amo. & a cheap Simon 3x9 scope on both. I get groups that would piss off life long .22 cal comp shooters with Anschutz rifles & 1000's more dollars invested in the sport. Seriously now. The .22 mag likes cci vmax fmj 40gr high velocity rounds. At 100 yrds there hit over lapping the same hole most of the time,if not then with in a 1/4" any direction you go. The 22lr likes cci quiets 40gr,lrn 1070 fps,or standard cci 22lr in the same spec range as well as mini mags copper plated high velocity in 36 or 40 gr bullet weights. Gives the same groups as the .22mag does at 100 yrds but at 50 yrds. As I said, maybe I got lucky, either way I wont part with either gun for any amount of money.
Indeed, got the RAR LRT and it shoots amazing groups with the CCI SV.
Just seeing this gent operate the bolt each time makes me respect his abilities.
cool. thanks for watching.
I don’t think you should fault the trigger on this gun since it is not intended for the precision/target market. It is fair to complain about the same trigger on the Target model, but that’s the Target gun, not this one. Was hoping to see some actual accuracy work.
I totally agree with you. This gun wasn't made for Target competition so why run the gun down. I think it's a 5 STAR 🌟
Nothing inherently wrong with the trigger mechanism. It's just been cost-reduced. It can be cleaned up with some not-to-difficult work, shimmed, and function far better.
I'll give you a thumbs up just for the tee shirt. :t
ditto
Thanks for the video, just purchased the exact same one for my sons birthday coming up
Nice! Thanks for watching.
The trigger can be disassembled partially, deburred with a fine hone or fine sandpaper, and shims installed to remove all the grit and inconsistency. You'll be a perfect 3# every time, without creep and grit. If you want lighter, I'm not sure if replacing a spring or two might do it, otherwise a drop-in trigger from Timney or someone else might be a better solution (albeit much more expensive).
Thanks
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork You're welcome. Gentleman by the name of Lance over at trigger shims has a demonstration video explaining the process. I might go ahead and do that myself at some point. Timney are expensive! haha
Also I've seen people clip a couple of coil windings from the spring to reduce pressure, but that's a bit of a hack.
Add a mcarbo trigger spring got mine down to 1 3/4lb pull. ($5.00 upgrade)
I just replaced the trigger spring with a lighter one, and got trigger pull down to 2 pounds and could adjust it to less than that, but I figured that 2 pounds was good enough for a starting point.
Disassemble and clean the magazine, when reassembling it don’t rewind the magazine as tight had to do that for mine worked like a champ.
What accuracy test? That you can read the owner's manual accurately?
Django Reinhardt ? Did you not watch the video or is this a joke
The Standard model appears to have a pretty stout barrel but the specs for the target model fluted , Bull barrel is .830" daimeter . Do you know what the barrel diameter is on your Standard model ?
I'm not sure on that...and now I've "offloaded" the rifle to a local shop.
I got mine to 2.25 lb pull in less than 10 minutes with a couple of snips of the spring.. Just a little at a time till I got it to desired pull..
sounds good. thanks for the comment.
Great video @Precision Rifle Network ! Are you going to do something in the new NF NX8?
Don’t know about that rifle but the Ruger precision rifle comes standard with a 30moa pic rail
Same for the RAR LRT.
Mine shoots amazing groups with Fed ultra match. Hard to find that ammo and harder to pay for. Unfortunately the rifle is nothing near my 457. It will be a good squirrel rifle tho.
I like your tee shirt
I’m considering this rifle or the target model and the trigger is also a concern to me. I have seen a replacement spring that can take the pull down to 2 lbs but don’t know if that would be allowed or not for your intended use for NRL22.
Take the spring out and it drops it down to 2
i like your gun.
Thanks for the review I liked it, makes me not want to buy one. I agree with you wholeheartedly if it's a competition gun or tack driver .trigger needs to be to be capable of adjustment down to a pound
Awesome shirt and review.
Mkii fvsr cheaper and more accurate.
Where are your safety glasses while shooting?
Lets try to set good examples of safety for new shooters coming into our sport, sir!
Negative. I don’t buy $3000 scopes to get great glass only to ruin the view with safety glasses.
I wear them with ARs and pistols, but not when the bullet is hitting steel 3/4 of a mile away.
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork "great glass only to ruin the view with safety glasses" What a poor excuse. One day, you may regret those words.
If you are spending $3000 bucks on a scope, then you can surely afford a good set of safety glasses that doesn`t change your vision looking through that $3000 scope.
350.00 gun I'm bought one for grandsons training, I'm 63 and shoot bottom of shotgun hulls at 30 yards open sights, I'm 62 and you complain about the trigger
Sounded supressed in the video, is it that quite?
Chris Kristofferson acting all good like with his t shirt and cries about the trigger.
huh?

Would you please tell me what parts on the rifle, other than the stock, are plastic/synthetic?
thats it, just the stock.. the trigger guard is part of the stock as well.
Gun model number please?
Sorry, no idea.
8351 have exact same rifle.
Plastic stock .... Not good ......
