This new Album is brilliant. She just keeps getting better. Aurora is the whole package.
When she offers us some low tones vocals, which is not that often... Magical voice, running through her whole range. What a crazy ride... immersed in her sung emotions, I just can't get tired of this, of her, who weaves such magnificent soundscapes.
In the middle of all the emotions in which she immersed you, great reaction to Aurora the eternal, this timeless, ever growing musical spellsinger.🙂👍
Yes... she surprised us all with her new album. And her voice live is 100% like the studio recording and yet 1000 times better. I had the pleasure of hearing the song live in Oslo in June. Wonderful.... yes, your and my Aurora is now 28 and will definitely surprise us again and again.... Thank you for your great (speechless) reaction... just wait until you hear "Starvation" 😂.❤

This song is different but so is the whole album. She has grown so much. So good, so full of emotions.
In this new album, we have this poweful, soulful, angry but in a good way and frustrated with the world AURORA. And i’m here for it, because she is showing us that she is evolving and at the same time she is with us, she is connected with the world. And she is using music for the world. I really appreciate her and artists like her.

There are two other great versions of this song: The album version, which has kind of a medieval or renaissance vibe, and the remix, which features sounds from nature, remixed by the legendary Brian Eno. The entire new album is amazing, though. 👍👑🤟

I’ve just seen Aurora live in Glastonbury and she sang this song along with a few more from her new album and she simply nailed it.for 7 years I’ve followed Aurora and told everybody that this young artist was special and would be loved so much,she is the essence of what I believe is the true meaning of music,as soon as you hear her she puts a lasso around your heart and your hooked,people try to put her in some kind of musical genre but you can’t she just keeping evolving probably because music mean's something different every time she’s sat at her piano, she simply becomes an instrument herself and whatever she feels she becomes,it’s why she comes alive when performing she becomes a vessel that channels her music, her words, it’s why and you can see it visually in a lot of her live performances that it’s as she has come out of that place where she has been and becomes that shy little girl who feels a little uncomfortable until she starts to sing again for music is her safe place it’s why I love her so much,so Genuine so humbling a Genius ❤️
Yea. Stunning live performance. I love all 3 versions of the song (live version is more similar to album version but still different, and there is also Remix version, also amazing) but this stiped down live version I think is my favorite.
I am also impressed how creative is she. As you said you know her very well and all her songs but with every album she surprises with something different, And it is even more impressive as she write her music, not like many different people - and this all versatile and different music comes from her.

My dear friends, Mr Bearded Gent & Lovely Spouse...she is a true Healer...and....I'll use very direct and maybe foul language to say this you are so right - I just N E E D her around to get my shit together - every day!!..... Aurora? she is wise, with an old wisdom...she has a power and I still think there is some kind of magic involved she has the right words with the right teelings that hit you strong and direct and it works right away I really don't think I am the only one like this. I keep calling it Love, Magic and Goodness still think she is beyond our understanding some special creature she is.
I found her back in 2016...or maybe she found me, dunno... she's in my everyday lifetime music soundtrack every day since day one... like the heart beat nerve electricity she became mandatory ok I flipped ? need a shrink? no way that's how it is and we are all fortunate she's around Amen

The whole album is great
You are the first reactors I’ve heard who caught the “oriental” quality of the mandola and her singing. It reminds me of Turkish and Arab music. She is as you say brilliant. Impressive! Give your water to the devil could refer to our governments giving our tax money to the petroleum companies who are burning the world.

Wonderful reaction. This performance, is by far my favourite version of this song (there are 3 versions - and I love all of them - just this performance is on a different plane). It is in my opinion, the best live performance she has ever done, and this is a very high bar, as she has given so many excellent live performances. I am in awe of this song/performance.

With the length of the neck, Fredrik could be playing a bouzouki. Soul With No King definitely blew me right of the water with that melody. It has a Greek or Middle Eastern sound to me. On the live stage performances that she has recently done, she sets up a clapping rhythm to keep the beat during the song's interlude (which is longer in the live performances). Powerful and profoundly delightful to me to see how well-versed she is in different musical styles and is using them as she sees fit.
Oh God!! I relived that experience of listening and UNDERSTANDING the meaning of the song for the first time, it can be about several topics at the same time, treats with Mother Nature or to ourselves as humanity, without a doubt this presentation is excellent and the remix of it adds backing vocals, the breaks and the sound of nature along with different instrumentals, the remix is as an initiative to help Mother Nature, crediting part of the profits to foundations that help her (along with other artists) and likewise the complete album (you should check it out).
On her 2nd album her song "Soulless Creatures" is written from Mother Earth / Mother Natures point of view calling humanity "soulless creatures".
I think this song is either a continuation of that song or at least a similar theme, there was also a Nature Remix of this song released before the album came out.
I think it is Mother Earth calling us "a man with no wisdom" and "a soul with no king", since we have no one that can "rule" us and force us to not destroy The Earth. Mother Earth also accuses us of being friends with the devil.
As Brian Eno said in an interview:
The Norwegian singer Aurora, who's one of the most extraordinary people i've met. Absolutely original human being. You just think, who designed her ? She is ... she's such a oneoff wonderful person.

The way her voice has developed through her career is almost beyond belief. I mean, it was stunning from day 1, but listening now is like having an out of body experience. Also the piano part for this song is just brilliant.
You two and the stunned silence made me smile 🤩 that’s the same reaction I had, every single track on this album is outstanding, I have it on constantly just like I did the other albums, all the work of a genius. Her vocalising sounds like a war cry from a shield maiden in this one.

I get the distinct impression it's an antiwar song. About one specific one going on... the "Why speak of right and wrong? You still go in for the kill" is the key phrase to me.
