It amazes me how good NRK productions are. Seriously, this is a public tv station, but produces better entertainment than big money media.
I do wish she would sing in Norwegian more often. That was special.
me too!! It's a very beautiful language
It is a tradition in most Scandinavian countries to make a Christmas calendar TV show for children. Sometimes they play in the present and other times in the history or fantasy world. There are always 24 episodes and they are very popular, children love them (even the adults). It has become part of the Christmas tradition and helps to shorten the waiting time. We always deliver the Christmas presents on the evening of the 24th. (if you behaved nicely this year 😉 ). For a musician it is a big deal to be allowed to sing the title song and Aurora was the right choice. The children love her... and so do the adults.
For me. The few songs she sings in her own language is so magic. Only hope she would sing more Norwegian. Thank you Ashlena for this morning.
No worries happy Aurora Tuesday!
In the TV series the North Star disappeared from the sky and a boy has to help a girl from the North with magic powers return it and find her way home. Of course it’s extra magical with Aurora (a girl from the North with magic powers) singing the soundtrack. Two more beautiful Aurora songs in Norwegian you may like are her live “Det hev ei rose sprunge” (The Rose has Sprung) (a lullaby) and her cover of “Jon Blund” (a Christmas song).
he he you mean then opposite ? Det hev ei rose sprunge is a Cristmas carrol and Jon Blund is a lullaby..
@@heidifarstadkvalheim4952 Yes, my mistake. I easily get confused because she sings Jon Blund at a Christmas concert and Jon Blund is. Christmas character (elf?).
@@davidplanet3919 I think Jon Blund is like "The Sandman" and not a Christmas character:
"The Sandman is a traditional character in many children's stories and books. In Scandinavian folklore, he is said to sprinkle sand or dust on or into the eyes of children at night to bring on sleep and dreams. The grit or "sleep" (rheum) in one's eyes upon waking is the supposed result of the Sandman's work the previous night."
@@Einyen Jon Blund is associated with Christmas in Norway because he was a part of the Christmas calendar Jul i Skomakergata, which is also where the song is from.
@@Einyen Thanks. That explains why it’s a lullaby.
Her message to all is that whatever path you chose you will find light and healing.
Aurora doesn’t often sing in Norwegian since to her Norwegian is very personal too her, so the few that we got out their is something quite special.
ua-cam.com/video/ZsKoKKKJUDM/v-deo.html I really love this recording of the song because she sings together with the great Silja Sol. Also I love the fact that she seems to have gained some weight during the Covid-Pandemic (as we all did). You can see it in her face and arms. This looks so cute and proves that she is a normal human being what I sometimes find hard to believe.
Watching Aurora sing this live is, of course, even better and you have missed the opportunity to be introduced to the song in that manner.
Still something I can do!
It's a very nordic theme, stars shining guiding you home at night. Stars are, and especially were before electricity, a very important light source during winter when the sun is not up for very long. Nordic people associate christmas with lights and stars, because it is happening during mid winter.
Nature is also a core part of nordic culture, so that makes the song sound even more nordic themed to me.
Not to forget that there is also the story of the kings who run around looking for some child somewhere in Bethlehem 😂... an it is not " Brian" he has another live😅
I love this song, wish Aurora would sing more in Norwegian :)
I am with you - it doesn’t sound Christmas to me either. Aurora’s music has so many different effects on me but most of the time she is a calming voice that makes me happy. I have a morning playlist I listen to everyday for over a year and this song is on it along with other soothing songs by Aurora like her vocals from Sky, acoustic version of Runaway and Butterflies. I never felt the need to look up the lyrics before so it was nice to see them with you. I hope one day she makes an album in her own language because this song is so beautiful!
I’ve been here since the beginning of her Aurora journey and IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS ONE and she pronounced the name of the song right what a queen❤
Awww thanks!
This song always calms me, I play it for my baby too haha
Aww 🥰🥰
Hi Ashlena, thank you for your Aurora tuesdays and your Nice reactions of her 😊. I could also recomend a Norwegian band «Highasakite» you could try for example «Mother - (Acoustic version live).
happy aurora tuesday greetings. there is another 'must hear' song: 'jon blund' the norwegian adaptation of the german (gdr) 'sandmaennchen'.
I almost cried listening to it, again. The harmonies and the voice...
So good right?
Goosebumps. Absolutely beautiful.
I've had this on my Aurora playlist for ages now and love it so much that I didn't bother to try to find the English translation but I'm so glad you did because now it's even more gorgeous!
Awwww love that!!
There is a video on UA-cam where she performs this acapella on request! Very impressive ❤
It is like a lullaby... 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
It really is xx
Wohoo! Such an ultralovely song is Stjernestøv, sung by our Queen and perfect for a TV show opener or closer IMO. And I liked your reaction. Thank you again!
Great reaction 🦋🦋🦋
Thank You
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this song. It's as you say, very soothing 😄❤
Thank you Ashlena!
No problem! 🥰
O boy. Current poll is exciting
Glad you like it!!
this song is so good 😭always gives me the feels
You need to react to Aurora’s cover of Rasputin By Boney M. You will be like WHAT? 😮 What an odd song choice but it’s actually a really good cover. It needs to be in your poll along with The Secret Garden (An original she wrote), and her cover of Golden by Harry Styles.

Your hair is lovely, so is the song. I hope you never ever stop Aurora Tuesdays and I also wonder if you will ever do any of her unreleased songs, they are so so so gggoooooddddd. Thanks Ash, you are the BEST.
She did some remixes. Don't know if unreleased too.
Aww thanks! And I’m still not sure as I’m worried they’d be blocked due to copyright
The unofficial tracks are all out here on UA-cam already, but it's totally up to you if you feel comfortable doing them or not. I feel like there's as many unofficial tracks out there as there are official ones.
Perhaps as we start to run out of other tracks you will feel the feed to feed the craving for more AURORA. lol. ;)
I do believe "Why Did You Have to Go" is an unofficial track.
Happy Aurora Tuesday! ❤
😲 I never heard that befor ! Thank you!
No problem!
❤
i've never heard this before and its so beautiful.
So pretty right?
Endelig 🎃
Happy Aurora Tuesday ❤ I’ve been walking in the wilds for the last two weeks so just able to catch up today. As always a great reaction ❤
Welcome back!
Yea. Incredible beautiful song (in one moment it has some Enya vibe) and very relaxing too. I love short live Christmas performance with 2 songs and a small children choir :).
Ps. I saw a pool. But does not voted so far as I can not decide which one (all are cool but in the same level for me ;) ). I think I will vote for BBC Proms "Take Me Back Home" which will get probably last position. It is very cool, but unfortunately the mix was bad/off in this one (Aurora voice should be put louder). It would be much better :).
Ps2. i voted and results are similar for each song and I was right about position of my vote (4th one with 23% - rest are 25%, 28%, 25% in this moment) ;))
Haha thanks for voting!!!
I havent watched this video until today, and I havent seen all the Aurora and some The Warning videos uploaded after this one, ive been pretty busy but now its time to catch up, this is gonna be a great day with a lot of Aurora and The Warning content yeey ❤
Haha that’s ok! Enjoy the videos!
Love your reactions Ashlena!👌 How are we going to celebrate your Aurora reaction number 100 by the way? I think you actually are going to be the first reactor on UA-cam to hit that milestone, and I'm here for it! Hug from Norway🤗
Not sure yet! Was hoping I could make her new album my 100th haha
@@ashlenamusic Yes, that sounds like a good idea!👌😃
😂 we all come to you and make a big Aurora party.... maybe vi vil allow Aurora to join us too 😂 ( i call her....)
@@morten2001 men faktisk kan du jo tage hin ( Aurora) med når du kommer til festen 🎉😂
That would be a dream
😊👍
Hello, you have to react to Aurora Butterflies, is an Amazing song in piano with someone, sorry my English is bad sjjsjaja
👍😍🤟
👍😍😍❤️🥰🥰
😘😘😘😘
I just looked and you have not done a reaction to Butterflies. I just LOVE it. The only thing wrong with it, is it is too short. If you do react to it, you might want to combine it with another song ua-cam.com/video/vfIJuwh_sG8/v-deo.html
Quinn from Freeze The Fall sent me.
Haha love Quinn
@@ashlenamusic
Also, I just found out she likes Death, so that's super cool.
