Perhaps the best sailing channel on YT. Great shots, great coverage of your journey - plus you two don't act like spoiled brats. Thanks for taking us along!
Nice of you guys to show the route through the ICW to the following yacht, also the cooking looked delicious as usual. That was a lovely moment when the two of hugged each other, I maybe an old sentimental but that kinda thing means a lot to me since I lost my dear wife a few years ago. Happy sailing⛵️
My wife and I have so enjoyed your journey. W have a Gulfstar 39 here in Oriental and watch with great interest your recent posting comimg by our marina on Pierce Creek. You're very right that the Nuese and the ICW can a little more challenging than you might have been expecting. But, regarding the weevils, we back quite a bit and have stored flour and rice aboard through many seasons and had no problems by emptying the flour into double tip lock bags. Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing you in person someday. Safest of sailing wishes, Paul and Suzan.
So happy you two enjoyed your brief visit to North Carolina. Between the small waterfront towns, the solitude of the Sounds, and the volatile weather you got a pretty good feel for what this area has to offer the cruising sailor. You even managed to experience what we locally refer to as "the sound of freedom", courtesy of the local airbase! If you're ever back this way plan a week or two to explore - there is so much more to see. Lots of cruisers from all over the world have chosen to settle down here. Feel free to stop in anytime, and stay as long as you like.
We went thru that Alligator bridge some years ago with friends , it had not opened for nearly a week because of wind! It was funny to hear Ben waxing lyrical about the wilderness in the USA and then later getting attacked by mosquitos and flesh eating horse flies ( and green head in the spring) . Welcome to the wilderness.! I can't say I agree with you about wilderness with the lax building and zoning regulations it's almost impossible to find anywhere that there isn't a house or building visible. I have a photo take out the window of a plane flying over southern England and despite being less than 50 miles from London there is only farm land visible , barely a building anywhere. You would have a hard time getting a photo like that on the east coast of USA. Cheers Warren.
Oh , one thing on depth, and I'm amazed seahawk did so well in the ditch but they have an amazing service here in the US , there a couple of water based services like the RAC or AA in the uk. Tow boat US and Seatow are the 2 most well known. For a yearly fee they will tow you off shallow, or you run out of fuel etc. some limitations. BUT they are locally based so are a great resource to call up and talk to about , water depth or new shallow spots, bridge openings, conditions at inlet, local marina services in area etc. I was surprised on a trip back to UK some years ago nothing like that existed . Cheers Warren .
When you anchored overnight with the mosquitos, ENE of you was Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills where the Wright Brothers made the first flight. It all started there right on the coast. Thanks for the episode!
fun video....I remember running south on the Pamlico with my first (slow) sailboat and the marine jets, two abreast were flying from the mainland (west to east) a few hundred feed over the water at us...then screaming into climbs as they approached. The noise....sheesh....Thanks, Andrew
Another great episode!!! But if Ben has to keep pumping up the old dingy multiple times a day - he’s going to need a hip-replacement by the end of the season. 😉 HIGHFIELD BOATS If you’re watching, please hook Bora Bora up with a new tender asap!
Great Volg. I am now watching them all from the beginning. I too have a 40' ketch, and yours is the only one besides mine that I have seen windows on the Stern. I Love them. Just forward of your mast you have two tubes running up to about mid main mast. One port and one starboard. About 3 or 4 inches diameter. What are they ??
Welcome back! As lovely as your Trintella/Victory is guys......what make is the other yacht travelling with you? And if you wanted speed why did you buy an old skool full keeled ketch? If wilderness floats your boat wait until you get to NZ and Australia!
That’s one thing I missed about Australia when I lived in Europe, that was the wide open space and it was only an hour or so drive to wilderness that was 15 years ago . But if if was to live in Europe again it would be in the east . Great Video miss my sailing .
Yes 2018, we went back to the UK to earn some money over the winter. We are back in Maryland now and Bora Bora is back in the water and ready for the next adventure. Sorry to be so far behind, but this way it means there will be no gap. Thanks for watching and fair winds.
Amazing as always. I read a great book about a couple who cruised the length of the ICW in his narrowboat. Narrowdog to Indian River by Terry Darlington 🤔
Did you mean to say it was the 23rd of MAY ?? It's confusing not knowing when these UA-cam vids are aired. It is the 23rd of April, 2019 so if you are posting in May, then these are at least 11 months old !?
Yep! Because we went back to work in England for 9 months to save up for the sailing kitty, the videos will be up to real time within the next three episodes I should think and continue from Maryland where we are now....releasing them slower than normal means there will be no huge gap in videos.
@@sailingsvborabora8712 OK, thanks. I'm (a little more} oriented now 😁 Love your videos no matter when they were. Good luck with the rest of your...what.. adventure, voyage, trip? And hope your cruising coffers overflow!

By far the best sailing channel I have yet come across on UA-cam!
Perhaps the best sailing channel on YT. Great shots, great coverage of your journey - plus you two don't act like spoiled brats. Thanks for taking us along!
Said it before and I`ll say it again! Bora Bora.. Bringing the true realities of sailing to us every time! Lovely people, love this channel!
You have done your research, you have taken advise, you have created a plan and know how to put it into action. That’s all you can do. Happy Sanding

Nice yacht there! I really like the layout there's a lot of room for 2 people.

Is it possible that the tiny shrimps were mosquito larva? They do resemble wee shrimps..
Ewwwwww maybe?! Didn't occur at the time but now you've said it I reckon they were!
Oh that was a fun one!
all worth it for that amazing sun set
Another great video loved to ending out takes

Sigma 41 nice fast boat. But not our style.

Great view of your sailboat ⛵️ and canal area! 😀⛵️😀Mike from Missouri
It’s not Sunday! Messed me up, hope you are both well!
She is so damn cute !!!
Was your trip in 2018? You mention in this video that it is 23rd May but the vid was published April 20th?

10k congrats! 👍👍✌️
What did you say about peace and quiet again ??!! Lol
Horseflies can give one a nasty welt. Those F-15’s are keeping the neighborhood safe.
Amazing as always. I read a great book about a couple who cruised the length of the ICW in his narrowboat. Narrowdog to Indian River by Terry Darlington 🤔
Arnt you happy to have that solid dodger / A few revs forward & reverse usually clears it
bill hanna , nice to leave the line floating for the next poor buggers to get tangled.
Are youre Friends Dutch or sailing just with the Dutch flag ?
buzzed by F-15's, how lucky
I'm glad someone said what they are...I didn't know. Thanks!
You guys are funny. WTF are "Crock Pots", you mean "Crab Pots".
No idea what "crock pots" are? We've never called crab pots that!

Welcome to the US where we are 47% uninhabited. There are places where you can still go and not see another human being. 🤗
You were saying about the unmolested by man wildernesses ?? You hadn’t counted on the U.S.Airforce’s F35s.
The whole of the ICW is referred to as "the ditch." Isn't that brown water disgusting? It leaves a rather nasty mustache on your bow.
Why did you put your electronics in the oven?
Because of the lightening. It acts like a Faraday cage so if you get hit your electronics ie. navigation equipment, will be protected
Thank you. I had no idea. Learning so much from these videos. 🤗
Yup.... lost me at the profanity @J.C. .. fyi Its Easter Sunday here too
Holy is his name 🙏Happy Easter
i wish you'd stop calling britain the uk. uk is a corporation not a land. enjoying your vids by the way
