I was about to post the very same comment. I like the channel because it seems very real, no fantasy sailing, just two likeable people honestly going about the business of cruising.
Among your finest videos. I especially loved the shot of the pelicans (~09:30) ... absolutely wonderful birds. Thanks so much for taking us along for the ride!!
This was the most realistic segment I've ever seen for sailing in weather on the Chesapeake Bay. I've sailed most everywhere from the Bohemian River down to Norfolk. Your boat seems most comfortable and quite ready for handling the gusts and seas on the Chesapeake. The piece shows the range of motoring in flat water to constantly adjusting sail and trim.
I love you guys. Confident without arrogance, both equally capable and just beautiful people. I haven't seen a more equally balanced couple. Thanks for sharing your journeys.
Enjoyed your introduction to Chesapeake Bay sailing. Learned true sailing in the Chesy as a Midshipman at Annapolis in the ‘60s. Great VLOG! Enjoy this time of your life together on the water. It’s a wonderful way of life and having a partner to share it with is a true joy.
You have one of the older boats on all the sailing channels and yet , as a monohull, it’s one of the best layouts I’ve seen and functions extremely well. Nic,e good sailing vid
I've been reading your comments and my theory of why i agree this is a favorite channel is because you make people relax by the vibe you generate. You can almost immediately feel the love and respect you have for each other--the almost wordless sharng of tasks at hand. You seem to understand that compatability and glory in it--the hug without immediate reason! Thrilled me! At the risk of jinxing this-- dont change a thing--always try to remember this warmth you generate.
a tip for those not familiar with the Chesapeake - there are more places to go when you venture up the rivers , the Potomac takes you all the way to the whitehouse , the patuxent has numerous small towns, Including Solomons Isl , the Choptank has numerous small towns- Oxfordup a small river the tred avon, Cambridge ( they have a street party on the second Saturday ) you can probably find a free tie-up in front of Snappers , Saint Michael's is up the eastern Bay- miles river the depth varies greatly but keep in mind all these mentioned had British warships up them at one time , jelly fish are in the Bay by July - later up the rivers ( their sting is not bad )
who'd have thunk (thought) the weather...well!...gotta be vigilant on the the weather...great to watch real sailors, sailing...my favourite sailing team...TB-team Bora
Ah. The joys of the Chesapeake! I hope you were able to anchor in Still Pond. Spent a couple of delightful days there on our trip back from LIS to Oriental, NC.
Good job, the Chesapeake can be no joke as you witnessed. Most fair weather sailors I know would have soiled their shorts in those conditions while you're heading down to the galley to make a cup o' tea.
More fun times aboard Bora Bora! More than any other channel, I really believe that you guys give your audience the most accurate depiction of what the cruising life is all about. Great job my friends!
Such a confident bread maker! Loved watching that little bit. Would love to know your recipe and method. My favorite sailing channel. I just keep watching your videos over and over 😁
by the way......love the music in the background while you are simly making bread.....that guitar struming and singing fits so well with the images....awesome
I use to keep my boat on the South River now I am just north of Annapolis. The adventure my 9 to 5 job affords is restricted to weekends on the Bay. Your video was a Thursday afternoon half hour mental vacation. I hope your enjoyed your stay in the area.
You are Amazing. As a couple you complement each other so well with no Egos getting in the way. I wish my marriage had been as yours is. Well Done to you both. David. Down Under.
@@todaysrealhealth8038 Ha ha ha ha .I actually did but she was someone elses` wife, no relationship between us but a huge connection between us.. Thanks.
Nice episode. Have you guys ever considered adding self-tailors to your 2 primary sheet winches? Would make it much easier to winch by one person. Once you’ve had self-tailing it’s hard to go back!
Best sailing sequence to date, Bora Bora seems so sure footed, such a beautiful little ship, looking forward to next season, thanks for the ride, fair winds, 👍
Generally I don’t like music added because most people do not have an idea how to use it. You choose to use it very judiciously and have excellent taste.
A lightning ground is a good option for a sailboat as the mast attracts lightening. You don't need anything fancy. You can use a good quality pair of heavy duty battery cables or a couple of pair if you want more protection. Attach one to each side of the mast and drape the other ends overboard. Other attachement points can be shrouds and stays.
Good one Ben......some sailors who have crossed oceans say their worst sail ever was on the Chesapeake Bay. You're a great team. Thanks for sharing your stuff. Capt Kaz
Hello, again, from St.Catharines, Ontario, Canada. For a contractor and a chef, you sure give great lessons on how to sail your boat efficiently and with grace. I have been subbed since the start. This is one of your best installments. Keep having fun on your exploring, and stay safe.
Ben hugging the post, hilarious 🤣 6 days or less before a sail watch : dutchsinse, especially what’s going on on the other side of the planet. Check it out. What a great sailing yacht. Impressed. Hope you guys get lots of Patreons to keep her in good shape.
If it were power problem radio would go silent when light off. Problem must be poor ground on the radio that is improved by turning on the light. Is the switch controlling ground to the light instead of + power side? Need to connect good ground to the radio and fix light/switch to control hot side, not ground side. Worth what you paid for it. Love your vids.
Yeah, you guys are my favorite sailing channel. You're such a good team. Thank you so much for putting in all the time and effort to make these videos, and thank you so much for sharing it with us. Also, I'm a bit jealous of your compression post, lol.
Good Blog Ben and great to see that you talk barometers. First blog I've seen. I had a compass like yours.Good to see how in sync you both are when it counts.
that Chesapeake is a choppy mess with those winds...wow, you guys kick ass. I've driven all around that area on land, and watched it from shore near Annapolis, but so different from your perspective on Bora Bora!
👍 ❤️⚓ Like ever ! Love your vidéo, always true life 👍. Is the weather not coming too cold overthere ? Brrrrr 🌧️❄️🌩️. Very different than other sailing channel ❤️👍😊. GREAT !!! Thx from France 🇫🇷.
Oh i'm hooked! Great episode guys with really really good editing.. Too bad the weather wasn't very cooperative.. Still can't wait to see where you go from here!
Yup that's summers on the bay. Light wind, hot sun and violent storms out of no where.
Interesting little formation flight at 9:19. Thanks for posting!
Sailing SV Bora Bora
is becoming my favourite sailing channel. Don't know why...? Just enjoy your endeavour!
I was about to post the very same comment. I like the channel because it seems very real, no fantasy sailing, just two likeable people honestly going about the business of cruising.
Ditto
Same for me 😊😊😊❤️👍
Same here, I think because your videos are showing more detail instead of being so short and everything edited to tight.
It's like a t.v show because it's a half hour long video, and I love that about this channel
Among your finest videos. I especially loved the shot of the pelicans (~09:30) ... absolutely wonderful birds. Thanks so much for taking us along for the ride!!

I really like your blog. You give a very good representation of cruising. Not all easy, not all hard and showing solutions to the trials.
I love you guys. Confident without arrogance, both equally capable and just beautiful people. I haven't seen a more equally balanced couple. Thanks for sharing your journeys.

While it was hell to sail thru it sure made for some great sailing footage. Nice to see a sailing channel actually sailing
You guys are such a tight team! Such great communicators, it's a pleasure to watch. Godspeed!

Real sailing..and having fun..This Van de Stadt designed boat is a real sturdy and seaworthy one..
"cup of tea?" funny guys!!!
What tremendous luck to have a crew member who can sail, steer and cook!
@9:30 the birds flying close to the water surface was awesome, I think its called ground affect, haha loved the antenna conundrum :)

One of your good sailing clips.
Lovely catching the birds in motion and their graceful up and down motion!
Thank you for posting!
Cheers

What have you got there Ben?? The delightful Elizabeth has yet one more question of " her Captain"!
Such a confident bread maker! Loved watching that little bit. Would love to know your recipe and method. My favorite sailing channel. I just keep watching your videos over and over 😁
Quite the comfortable and safe helm station you have there👍.
Awsome run.
The flood warning on your phone was from NWS National Weather Service, they notify every cellphone in the warning area.
by the way......love the music in the background while you are simly making bread.....that guitar struming and singing fits so well with the images....awesome
Hi to you both What a team . I just love you guys
I was born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia. Grew up fishing and crabbing in the Chesapeake. Great video guys!! Rock on👍✌️
Agree that it's rad when you just linger on life in the cockpit for long stretches - makes us feel like we're there - hypnotic, yet dry
I use to keep my boat on the South River now I am just north of Annapolis. The adventure my 9 to 5 job affords is restricted to weekends on the Bay. Your video was a Thursday afternoon half hour mental vacation. I hope your enjoyed your stay in the area.
Absolutely the best sailing video I have seen in awhile from anyone. Good length, plenty of sailing, no music, great people. A 10+ on a scale of 1-10.
Fab video good long stretch so we can get a feel for what’s going on, thanks xx
The two of you are a great couple, totally focused and so quite in bad weather
Light on, light off :-) sooo good... Loved the lively sailing.
Typical summer day on the chesapeake , slick calm to gale force and back to a slick calm all in 12 hours
That was quite a sailing adventure. Great video. Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed it Thanks 👍👍👍❤️
Shows what she is made of! Similar to my nauticat in bad weather, great vid, thanks,
(sv calico jack)
very soothing to watch you knead the bread!
Wow! That was some good sailing! I really enjoyed the video.
Great video.
You are Amazing.
As a couple you complement each other so well with no Egos getting in the way. I wish my marriage had been as yours is.
Well Done to you both.
David. Down Under.
David Leatherbarrow you just haven’t found your soul mate yet. Don’t give up.
@@todaysrealhealth8038 Ha ha ha ha .I actually did but she was someone elses` wife, no relationship between us but a huge connection between us.. Thanks.
I just love it when towards the ending of your segment you make those silly faces, making fun of each others reaction to certain issues, so funny.
Oh my god I remember that day so vividly. You make it look easy!
Nice episode. Have you guys ever considered adding self-tailors to your 2 primary sheet winches? Would make it much easier to winch by one person. Once you’ve had self-tailing it’s hard to go back!
02"30 Woweeeeee such beautiful boules.
That was so much fun. I’m meant to be working but couldn’t stop watching until the anchor was down...in that beautiful little bay. Thanks for sharing.
Best sailing sequence to date, Bora Bora seems so sure footed, such a beautiful little ship, looking forward to next season, thanks for the ride, fair winds, 👍
Another great video, good team work!
Best oysters ever in the Bay area restaurants. Nice video, the tides and winds can be nasty around there.
Now that's proper British sailing. Cold, wet and blowing old boots.
Yes! And its blowing 35 knots raining horizontal , and what do they say? "cup of tea?" ! Love them!
The light switch static scene reminded me of the mr bean episode when he walked in front of the tv shop. Too funny. Love you guys. Xxx fair winds. Dan
Hahaha yeah!!

Great video thank you 😃
Great video of East coast sailing , really like your boat . Self tailing winches would be a neat upgrade . Maybe a few more patreons .
I go fishing around Sharkfin Shoals and areas in between. Great video
Another cool video and great sound track
Just found you. Steady on. Hey from the head of the Bay,Havre de Grace.
Good one Ben......some sailors who have crossed oceans say their worst sail ever was on the Chesapeake Bay. You're a great team. Thanks for sharing your stuff. Capt Kaz
Great video of you guys sailing and how busy you can be sailing under those conditions. Awesome !⛵️
Hello from sunny Sheffield!!!! Great episode! Thnx. G

Nice job on the bread.
Excellent break making skills and good looking loaves!
I must admit, I love the sailing but I was impressed with the bread making also. Any chance of getting your recipe including method?
I enjoyed that, thanx
You guys are so cool. Waiting for the crossing episodes. Loved tracking you on Predict Wind.
I've missed you guys since you left sailing. What are you up to these days?
Well Annapolis would be ideal to haul out and find everything you need. ok good night great video so far.
You guys were in my home waters.
I hope you enjoyed the Chesapeake. Cheers!
S/V Bellwether, a 1970 Alberg 30 from Baltimore, signing off.
Good navigation, well muscled. Your boat is superb. good wind.
What an episode, you’ve seen it all! You two handle the boat perfectly, what a team you are!
Nena
wow you two worked for that ride
Good one. Loved the sailing. Part of the problem was the shallow depths. We have the same issue in the Gulf of Alaska.
Thank you for sharing, wonderful sailing. Good luck.
Ben hugging the post, hilarious 🤣
6 days or less before a sail watch : dutchsinse, especially what’s going on on the other side of the planet. Check it out.
What a great sailing yacht. Impressed. Hope you guys get lots of Patreons to keep her in good shape.
Nicely Done! Loved the Pelicans! and the sporty finish! Thanks for posting!
Fabulous sailing guys. Many thanks for sharing your adventure.
The light and radio. Check the connection in the light.Probably loose.
Your wired in series and the light makes the circuit.
Wire from a dedicated circuit
If it were power problem radio would go silent when light off. Problem must be poor ground on the radio that is improved by turning on the light. Great videos to watch, up there with very best!
Fantastic vid........thanks for sharing yourjourney
Great sailing you two - what a team!

Calm before the storm is the worst. FYI Solar panel was slapping on the rail ?
Great vid and your bread looked delicious
that was a long day
