Love the video's guys! Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait till ya get to south Florida and see the beauty down here. I am a Texas transplant and I love it down here!
Tell Toad to put some marvel mystery oil in the fuel tank. It will clean it up in about an hour of run it . Directions on the bottle. Better than tearing all apart.😀
Welcome to the Bayou… your doing great…I’m sure you are ahead in your timeline - but if your waiting on weather - you will definitely find someone who can fix your Gen in Morgan City…
Your trip reminds me of 'rigging doc' trip on a the east coast ICW. With limited offshore experience you current route is a good idea (TODD did a long trip I know). You might be near Doug on SV seeker , he is/was in pirates cove Alabama I think. Cheers warren
ok maybe time to get a pair of night vision binos, about 150, some are twice that but go twice the distance, the cheaper ones have greatly improved and are useful to boaters now, see the shore or dock from 300 feet away, etc. The more expensive go 3x that far. In total darkness.
I met y'all there in Morgan City even ask if y'all needed ride ta store are laundry mat and gave me a card ta follow y'all and I have. Quite the journey I'll say. Just wanted say hello an be safe
Enjoyed the video you are such a lovely couple and family In Thailand the locals wear hats with mosquito nets to cover the faces worth a try if you can find them in the USA. Have you checked your fuel to your tank if that clogs it could cause fuel starveon
Check that one of your supply fuel hoses does not have a collapsed inner core. Some hose will separate from the reinforcing and collapse under vacuum. Try feeding the Genny from a Gerry can . one other thought is the air vent to The diesel tank blocked.
just wondering... At 8:50 looking up the mast it appears to be less then straight. Camera angle maybe but was just curious. Great job. Less music is better. Safe travels.
My wife is terrified about crossing the ocean but maybe she might be open to a ICW boat to live on. Looks like you can go for days but I’m not sure how far it goes.
You can go on the ICW from Brownsville TX on the Mexican border to the tip of Florida, up the east coast where you take canals to the Great Lakes then you can go down the Mississippi River to the gulf again. It’s called The Great Loop, boaters doing it are called Loopers. Lots of good information and videos about it. 👍😍
I have been watching people who are using electric motors and if I had my choice I would go for a Diesel Engine because I still think the electric still have a way to good. The other they are using mainly there sails and the others ones are doing like you.
If you could do it again, would you just have slapped a new Beta in it and have been done with it. Just solar and Lithium Ion batteries for house power?
Nope, we hate the smell and sound of Diesel engines. We haven’t had a lick of trouble with our electric motor. The generator problem has now been sorted so it’s not causing the same trouble. Once we get to Florida we won’t be using the motor like this so won’t need to use the generator to run it. We have solar to charge our house bank which are AGM batteries. They can also be charged by the generator or shore power.
@@nufsed yes we do. But this boat originally had a 200 gallon diesel tank under the salon (where the batteries now are) and man was it stinky! So many old boats have that icky diesel smell. LOL
So happy your living your dreams
Thanks Stephen! 😍
I remember taking my sailboat under its first bridge and the anxiety relief on the other side 😅
Right?
Great episode! Stay safe and keep rolling!👍👍
Thanks! Will do!

I loved this video guys! There’s great scenery! We hate flying our drone also, glad you got it back!
Thanks! It is really beautiful along here.

We’ll look into that! Thank you for the tip.
Yeah like to move faster than the skeeters can fly👍👍😂🤣😂🤣be safe and keep rolling!
Ha! Right?
@@Spoondrifters 👍👍they are no joke all along the gulf coast.. surprised they are not responsible for drained bodies 🤣😂👍
Great to see you settling into and starting to enjoy boat life 👍🏼
Hopefully kitty knows the boat is her "territory" and doesn't run off so much now 🤞🏻
It’s been fun for sure. Not sure Kitty feels that way. She tried might hard to leave when we were at the docks in Morgan City and Gulfport. 😝

Thank you! We have solved the problem we think.
Those mosquitoes 🦟 are bad in Louisiana. Mannnn it’s scary flying the drone over the water. Did he find the done. Another great video.
Yes we retrieved it. The mosquitoes were BAD!!

Thanks Warren! We are just around the corner from Pirates Cove. Might be fun n to take a peek and see if he’s up there. 👍
Great to see your progress

we do have a pair on board, totally forgot about that option.

Awesome!! Thanks for following along. Morgan City is still one of our favorite stops.
The ICW is an awesome journey. It was worth that route even if it been safe in the Gulf!
👍
Agreed!
love following you as you go. When you were at Myers Landing My Home on Lake Arthur was 3 miles from you. Would love to say hi.
Darn! It would have been fun to say hi for sure! We love meeting people along the way. 😍
check generator fuel line (pipe/tube) for blockages/clogging
yes, good idea!
I would have spot lights mounted all over that boat.
A flip of a switch or two and they would be on.
We have spreader lights on both masts on both spreaders so four big spot lights that light us up!
Just stay on your half of the channel! (Tami responds) I am. My half is the middle half!
LOL

Ha! Right? We have them in Alaska too! Should have my kids send us a couple!
We have checked our fuel. I think we’ve got it figured out. We’ll share soon.

The diesel tank blocked.
All good things to check. 👍
Just posted similar before reading comments. 😃
Rig a fuel line direct to gen to confirm its fuel delivery issue. Confirm tank is venting? You guys are great.
It’s a new vent but Todd’s going to double check it.
Are you pulling too much current from the generator? Surprised about the bugs.
No, it turns out Todd was right, it was a fuel problem.
just wondering... At 8:50 looking up the mast it appears to be less then straight. Camera angle maybe but was just curious. Great job. Less music is better. Safe travels.
Yeah, I think that bump is actually a halyard running down the side because we know it’s straight. 😍
Sucking air? Loose clamp maybe? on the generator?
Turned out to be air in fuel lines.

Yes, electric isn’t for everyone.
Awesome video.
Thanks Jason!
When did you sail? I only hear you reference "this time of year."
December - March
you aren't talking to barges, you are talking to Towboats.
😂
Injector Pump!!
Hope not. We think we have it figured out. Keeping our fingers crossed.
