My mom passed away 4 years ago, leaving me, her only heir, a legacy of love and memories, unshredded paid bills dating back to the 60's, some furniture I had to sell, and a beautiful, keyless, locked, filing cabinet I kept.
Seeing your video inspired me to try your techniques. If I'm successful, I will send my thanks your way, along with a token ($) of appreciation. Two maintenance men offered to drill the lock. I declined because they both said it would ruin the front of the piece. I figured I'd have to call a locksmith but they charge too much just to come out.
Whether I do or don't manage to get in, thank you for posting this video and giving me hope and an alternative way--hopefully.

A 4th way to unlock a lock (and the preferred method) is by using super glue and baking soda

Id like to see you do that with a proper pad lock.
Those trainer locks can be opened with any flat, thin piece of steel.
I was going to say the same thing, the easiest locks in the world to pick, those.

Locks are an important safety feature in many homes, schools and businesses. Most locks include a key to open them- but some require additional tools to unlock. Some can only be opened by a professional locksmith. Even if you don't need to unlock something, knowing how to do so is useful. Anyone who wants to learn must understand how dangerous improper lock-opening can be.
How do I unlock a combination lock (#s unknown)..but it does have tiny keyhole on the bottom?
So the lock can open by combination or by key?
Buy the master key from the manufacturer
Keep in mind that's a practice lock *for beginners* and takes almost no effort to open...
I could never do any of that. That's why l own boltcutters.
Its really very easy. At least when you use a beginners pad lock (for lockpicking) as this video has.
You can buy them on ebay quite cheap. Took me about a minute to figure it out.
Proper padlocks are by degrees, far harder. They actually take some skill. (some don't, just depends on the lock)

The scary thing is how easy many locks are.
After waking from a coma with brain damage I spent 5 minutes learning and can now (with permission) pick every lock at my block of flats or my neighbors flats.
(we are all friends so they let me try.

And no, :) Ive never torn someones wiper off but Ive seen how the picking is done and that is all the tool you need for cheaper locks.
