Marko wrote the music, but he didn't think it suited his band, Tarot. Tuomas heard him playing it, offered to write some lyrics, and they made it a Nightwish song. The official video to this - done during the Anette era - is excellent and illustrates the story.
First: Marko is Playing an Warwick Infinity / Panthera Double neck Bass and Guitar ( It is called THE BEAST). Well, this "sea shanty" song is perfect for Marko "The Viking". And, well, having Floor as your backup vocalist, you know you are a Legend, that Marko unquestionably is !!! Floor steps back out of the spotlight during a lot of songs. Guitar solos, Marko singing, Troy playing the pipes, whatever it is, Floor steps back from the mic out of the spotlight, while the others have their moment. Floor is a team player. She has said on multiple occasions that Tuomas makes Nightwish run, not her. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
I like your pure, honest and with concentration commentary obviously, I'm big Nightwish fan, but you have so much great way with your words and that for me is thank you for you ✨🎶✨
Yes, another Nightwish reaction ❤ the best part about this amazing band is that you will be surprised by every song of them. Just pure awesomness every time. I recomment to do a double reaction of "Shudder before the beautiful" (live at Wembley) and "dark chest of wonders" (live at Wacken) . Both Songs are the openers of these two shows, both are mindblowing great. You can tell us witch opener you like more 🤟🫶
I feel that this version of this song should be omitted from UA-cam I've seen a lot of reaction videos for this song use this version where it cuts into the concert without showing Marco talking to the audience with subtitles it's so funny what he says the reason for his solo song how the rest of the band were like weasels and left him to entertain the 20 thousand fans I know it's probably less than 20 seconds but it's pretty funny
My Nightwish journey has made me appreciate Marko’s voice immensely. And it seems no matter what style of music they sing, Marko and Floor’s voice match up so well.
I have just watched the whole concert "Undead indeed" by Tarot on DVD. Great - I enjoyed it very much. Wings of darkness is one of the songs in this concert.
The Beast has 1 of the best bass sounds from Marco's basses. Altho Vampyre, and the 1 wood finish looking bass have even more down end and mid sound that punches through.
Even better than this in my opinion is while your lips are still red from Wembley 2015 and of course the best of them all high hopes from 2005's end of an era concert
By using this version you miss the start where Marko says that he's on his own as the other "weasels" had left him on his own. That is why it's well into the song before the rest, except Emppu, join in.
Before I saw this comment I wrote pretty much the same thing it's a big pet peeve of mine sometimes to the point I stop watching kinda like with the poet and the pendulum if they don't do the research of the back story also when someone does high hopes and doesn't know it's a Pink Floyd song and never heard the original
@@blueeyes1110 For me, it's the opposite. I don't bother watching if they already know the song or if they 'research' it or whatever. I only watch blind reactions, there's not much point otherwise.
Marko's backing vocalist is pretty good. I think she might have a future in the industry.
😅 Good one! 👍
😂 I agree
Let's hope somebody sings her one day and gives her plenty of time to learn the songs.

Marko gets the tee-shirt “Floor is my back-up singer!🎸🤘
Wanna get a sample of Marko's vocal range? Check out their tribute to Pink Floyd's "High Hopes". Enjoy ;)

Marko, one of the great ones! ❤
Geddy Lee uses a bass / guitar double-neck on Rush's very popular Xanadu live performance from Exit Stage Left.
Just a great song, and you just gave an easy chill reaction, thnxxx
Great reaction. I like your attention to detail. The "wind flute" is called an Irish low whistle.
🤘🇫🇮😊🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯🤘
I'm now wanting you to listen to Wings of Darkness by Tarot so you can see where Marko's coming from.

i think that sound you are talking about comes from Piezo mic.
