Very good, most informative. I don't have a volvo, however the basics are the same as in my abs module. I must agree!! The hardest part of the job is pulling the case apart as neatly as possible so you can re-assemble once done inside!!
Thanks very much, this was very helpful. I used a hacksaw to carefully cut the edges of the casing, and then found that the 2 power terminals had both dried joints, which was easy to fix. I re-sealed the edges of the case with a glue gun, hopefully between this and the tension of the screws once the unit is back in place, it will keep the condensation out.
I found this video while trying to crack the case on mine. Will now break out the Dremel! By the way, I was able to get the torx bolts out with a 5/32" socket with no trouble at all.
I Just reflowed the existing solder on many of the connections. When I installed the new capacitors I used a fine gauge electrical solder. I wouldn't hesitate to use any type of solder as long as you feel comfortable working with it.
Hy Everyone! I have a '98 V70 and i have a little problem with her. Sometimes the ABS light goes on and some seconds after that my speedometer off. The ABS module's failure can do this? thanks for the answers :)
The aluminum electrolytic capasitors are infact polarised and will blow up if mounted in wrong direction .however i woke one night and thought up a simple solution.i just measuered between the certain negative point on the right capacitor point and the ones i was uncertain about .then i got the negative solder point
Hi! My capasitors the little shiny brown/silver things was in such a bad shape and pretty much fell of by itself when i poked on them. i purched new ones exatcly the same model but i can for the love of god not figure out witch direction the suppose to be mounted in, one is clear since one of u r s is still there. But the other one? the one on the left? do you know witch way the brown marking are suppose to face? tnx in advance
I have a 99 s70 glt and my check engine light is on constantly and abs light comes on sparatically, mileage goes to dashes and speedometer fails sometimes also. yesterday got the blinking arrow and went into limp mode. I have been reading about possible fixes and thought it might be the pnp but now im not sure. Any thoughts?
I would do some more research before attempting to repair your module. You have a P2 generation Volvo which may vary from the P1 1999 v70xc, which is what this video is based on.
The ABS module solder joint problem was caused by 1). Low quality ABS module 2). Location - it's located very close to the engine without a heat shield. I sold my 10 years Volvo S70GLT 9 years ago, it was nothing but problems when I owned it. It drove nicely when it was running fine. I'd never buy another Volvo.

Good job, try not to touch the PCB as that will shorten it's life overall, great result.

Thank You and hoping we can find a solution for my car problem

I have a volvo s60 2004 model and have a problem with ABS Module, can i used this step/procedure to repair my module
Sounds like the ABS Module. Does the car go into limp mode?

Hello, does it matter what type of solder?
