Well worth adding the HM7000 decoder to get sound and all functions. If the app hasn’t populated the function list, just try importing the function map on its own, there is an option for that. You can edit the horn sounds really easily, via adjusting the CV value for the particular function number. Happy New Year!
Morning - great video and nice to see the powerbank fits too. Worth noting that you have fitted the next18 chip the other way round from what I’ve done (i suspect you have it right!!) but cant say i noticed any ill effects!
@gregmacdonald927 thanks for the feedback. I put the decoder in that way as it was how Hornby said to do it in the instructions that came with the class 66 and it follows the arrow on the circuit board. It makes more sense to fit it the other way but wasn't sure if it would still work as the decoder outputs would be all wrong. The power bank is great and I am please it fits into the small space available
Hornbys stay alive was announced and it had 3 capacitors. This smaller one is the second generation of them They listened to us, the people that use them, and made a smaller one
That's interesting to know, especially as Hornby have always been a bit deaf to feedback. It is a shame though that they went with their own wiring colours for them rather than going with convention

@@HighFell thanks for the advice, I will have a play with CVs and see what comes out

The Lego building was a funny touch in the background! And did you wear your matching socks filming this? 👌
@GenxDiorama no matching were involved in the making of this video 😉. The Lego building is my fun place holder until I get some grown up kits 😁
Nice vid, random question. Do the axle boxes move? 😅
@@HevyTH1 no, really too small for that level of detail
