(Except being polyphonic) An expressive keyboard, presets, and unusual synthesis approach with playability and musicality in mind When people discover Cs80 for the 1st time, I can see 2 categories - pianists who try to play music with it (without thinking about synthesis and programming) - sound designers who watch the front panel and think "it's not as powerful as expected" followed by "sounds like shit" It really was an instrument thought to be played, despite it's possible to make some nice sound design with it I've not tried the code 8 yet, but I'm not sure it's been built with the same goal in mind Polybrute 12, well, it's a modern compromise with a very expensive keyboard and powerful synthesis If musicians don't want to waste their time programming, they have access to tons of presets directly playable (and that was my goal as a sound designer, thinking each preset as a playable instrument)

@jim6186 I disagree and things are not that easy All Cs synths share same vcf Ig, but most of them sound different Compare as example cs70m to a cs80 if you have the opportunity

Thanks Arpeggio offers a nice feature, with possibility to use touch response to modulate whatever you want (let's say Attack or decay, as example) So, it's very easy to make lively arpeggios very easily

@MagnitudePerson sure they're different Muse seems to be a great sounding instrument But still, it's possible to make so dirty sounding bass sound with a pb12 Sound might be very different
Really good synth, but i Just wish it had Sequential or Oberhiem filters instead. I'm not a fan of Arturias Steiner parker filter. A Cem filter would have been a nice addition over the original PB too.
Matter of tastes I don't like much prophets (except old ssm models, or eventually double keyboard prophet 10) The combination of steiner and ladder vcf makes a very versatile instrument I can understand people who don't like steiner vcf, well, it has to be used for what it does well 🤷🏻♂️

Salut Mickael. Bravo pour ta démo. Je suis franchement tenté par ce nouveau PB12, J'ai pas de doute sur l'expressivité mais je me pose la question du clavier. Est il aussi mou que celui de l'Osmose ? J'ai été très perturbé par la sensation du touché au point de le revendre. Le clavier de l'Osmose n'est pas fait pour les petits nerveux comme moi. c'est trop sensible. J'ai peur de retrouver cette même sensation sur ce PB12, C'est difficile de se faire une idée sans pouvoir l'essayer. L'expressivité est mise en avant, je ne vois que des gens qui jouent soft pour mettre en valeur ce clavier mais pour moi ce n'et pas l'atout majeur du polybrute. J'aimerai voir ce que donne un tel clavier sur un jeu rapide ou agressif. Est'ce que l'expressivité est aussi intérréssante dans ces conditions ?
Les gens confondent le son et l'expressivité, parce que ça sonne pas du tout comme un CS80! La confusion vient aussi du fait que ce synthé est à l'aise dans les textures, les sweep, etc... nettement plus que dans les basses et les leads. Je ne suis pas fan du grain arturia mais tu as réussi à faire des sons qui me "parlent" musicalement parlant. Donc un grand bravo à toi😉

@cores303 I've started using it for a much longer time (as I've been one of the original factory sound designer) I even had a prototype long ago I keep thinking it is a fantastic instrument You can make thick layers (like the original polybrute, but with 6 voices polyphony, so, much more usable) Add to the the expression, it makes a great instrument When I see some vintage keyboards very high prices on 2nd hand market, I believe people don't realise how lucky they are to have potentially access to such beautiful instruments (like that Pb12, as example)

There also seems to be some noises in the patches how you play it. Other than that you are one of many people who feeling like sharing your output with the world. How long do you have the polybrute 12? When you listen to this demo do have the feeling it is worth sharing it? Factory presets. You don't know how to handle the keyboard yet. That is clearly to hear. Is that important for you to share you little demo with the world real quick? What is it attention seeking or conformation seeking? Or do you think you do us a favour? A present to the world? Do you show us anything here what we can't hear in all the other demos. It seems like you want to make yourself important? If not whats the reason for that?
