- In this video, I show you how to Build An Inexpensive Storage Rack For Your Studio Backdrop Paper. Whether you have a large or small studio or creative space, backdrop paper storage is always often one of the key considerations.
There are a few off the shelf solutions but in my case, i found that my DIY version was more robust and better value for money. Very easy to crete this even with minimal hand skills.

This is great, thank you very much! But, I keep counting 9 row and 18 bracket there. What happened the remaining 2? 😂
A man after my own heart lol I love a good cheap DIY. I just took those foam things OUT of my amazon basket! My drops are just leaning all over my studio and I hate it! THANK YOU !
lol. youre welcome
I owned and ran studios for over a decade and went through 100s maybe thousands of background rolls. Background rolls are meant to be stored vertical..Over time they will get flat spots when stored horizontally.
Cheers Todd, did not know that. Thanks for the tip
Awesome !
Thanks for the info
Genius!
You can probably get away with this setup with a shorter roll, especially where you've placed the supports. The taller 9 foot rolls would definitely bow over time as they're intended to be stored upright. I've been a photographer and have worked at camera stores in NYC and Washington DC for over a decade and have definitely seen my fair share of ruined seamless rolls. Still, I feel like with additional center supports they might be okay.
i think you have a valid point. thanks
