The heat from the roller set is indirect heat and doesn't damage your hair. I roller set my hair often, and I do not experience heat damage. It looks like she applied less heat from the blow dryer because she was straightening the hair and not having to fully dry it from being soaking wet.
There's no way I would let anyone put all that unnecessary heat in my hair. She could have totally eliminated the roller set, if she was going to end up blow-drying the hair anyway. That's ridiculous and no one is going to convince me otherwise

Blow drying from wet can cause dullness and splits in some fabrics of hair. There was no unnecessary heat used. Instead she saved the strand with less wet manipulation and stretched it gently.

The roller set was giving James Brown 😂😂 Then she still blowdried and flat ironed because the roller set wasn't good. I want a roller set that doesn't need alot of direct heat.I thought that was the whole point of a roller set 🤔
I agree. I would want my roller set to be the final step in straightening my hair. Otherwise, I’ll just blow dry and flatiron from jump.

I agree with you. I don't really think you need that much heat. The blow dry and then flat iron would be fine. People often assume that our hair is so tough that it needs perming or higher heat, but that's too much heat for what looked like 4C texture.
I agree. Per many other visual tutorials one should not pull the flat iron but once. Excessive tension/pulling on wet or even damp hair is harmful even to straight hair. The pulling with the fine teeth rollers and again with the paddle brush with the heat of the blow dryer was excessive in my opinion. There are many UA-cam videos that achieve the same visual results with less stressful steps.
Half the reason for the finished results is the gorgeous "thick" 4c hair!! Need I say more?😉😄
Heat from the hood dryer and from the blow dryer, flat ironed and curled with a curling iron😳 😳. Entirely too much heat on her hair. 4 different heat sources😳😳😳
Hair is shiny and looks beautiful right now, but she'll be sorry about this decision on the wash day.

How? When you spend and hour under a hot hooded dryer, then blow dried using a round brush with the most tension of all brushes, then flat ironed with 400 degrees, oh and then curled using another hot tool. There is definitely a safer way to get 4c hair to look like this.

Our hair is straight up REMARKABLE! IT CAN GO FROM KINKY TO CURLY TO STRAIGHT AND REVERT BACK!! Nothing short of REMARKABLE!
It looks very nice for now but folks the truth is, if this amount of heat keeps being applied to this hair, sorry to say, this beautiful Afro hair from the beginning will all be gone. This I can assure you isn’t a healthy way of handling lovely hair like this. Blow dry, iron pressed, recipe for disaster.

This is a terrible hairstylist. First of all she put extremely too much heat in her hair. Also, if someone parts my hair with a hair clip like that, i would go OFF!!! I wish you were in Bradford. There is no one in bradford that will do anything other than a bad hair weave and braids. We have African braiding shops and Jamaican barber shops. If you know of anyone that does natural hair, please let me know.
This is the way (Afro) Dominicans and Cubans have done it for years (and some Caribbean’s). Only problem with some of the Dominican shops is that the blow dry heat is many times way to hot.😕..but it usually lasts.

It's always been a thing (maybe by a different name or desciption just like other types). Remember, Andre just came up with a chart that's all...but its way more to it than his chart. Before he came up with it, it wasn't 'a thing' as far as letter-number description. 👍

Where do you get the rollers?
This was a lot of useless busy work only to flat iron & hot curl in the end! The roller set and flat iron were kinky. And why not use a thermal setting lotion on the roller set? Why not just let her air dry and jump into he flat iron & Roller set?

This defeats the purpose of going natural,, it’s a lot of heat.. usually y we as women go natural because of burnt hair and 2 much relaxers and over processed hair ,!! The beautions doesn’t feel like they are doing a good job if we leave the shop without slick hair ,, ladies stop letting them damage ur hair for their gratification,, heat is not great for ur hair period!!!!!

She has a lot of hair strands and volume yet you can tell she has very soft hair no coarseness at all!
Asians and east Indians have the straightest and coarses hair type & texture. Usually super straight hair like a horses mane and tail is coarse!
