That's not multiculturalism, that's a group of people in the modeling career doing some sort of runway show and not selling cars. They all look so serious and displeased with something. Frowning unhappy people do not sell cars.
The people in this ad were very unsettling and made me feel uneasy. Very fake. Like bad androids with rubber mask faces, not like real people. The clothes, the lighting, it looked more like some kinds of aliens pretending to be human invading a planet, not whatever else they wanted to achieve. Very unsettling, a very bad advertisement. At least in my opinion. 🤷♂️
As a British person, jaguar has such a history, my uncle has a classic jaguar he bought 40 years ago and yes denys your views are right on this branding 👍 , it's bloody awful and stupid. ❤️🇬🇧✈️
Wow, OMG what kind of branding is that. I completely agree it looks like a fancy perfume advertisement. I think investors are going to freak, and execs heads will roll
That's a big yeah naaaa from me. If I had that much money to buy a car, I wouldn't want to be associated with that company image. They are trying too hard to look cool etc for the younger generation. It's undignified and cringey!
One of my father's friends had a Jaguar XJ series 2 with close to 300 HP in the late 70s or early 80s, and later a Daimler Super eight, so a luxus variation of a later Jaguar XJ model. XJ (X350) if I remember correctly. They were cool cars. It's sad to see such a company making such crazy advertisements 🤷♂️
Well not all brands should remain retro focused. Its time to move on. Even Tesla cyber truck is 1980s retrostyling. Next question what does current market wants? Jaguar approach just seems lazy and uninventive. Car they featured is also 1980s retrofuturism. 1980s retro futurism is way overplayed and really peaked with David Hasselhoff true survivor clip parody... if you want to go retro bring back Y2K styling😜
_Jaaaaaaaaaaag!1_ To be fair, the James Bond sequence with the Jaguar (in _Tomorrow Never Dies,_ was it?) was even more ridiculous than this ad could ever be. That was way before the "gritty" new Daniel Craig Bond, back in the age of Pierce Brosnan, where the entire tone was shifted markedly further toward the Austin-Powers-Johnny-English end of the Rich Evans spectrum of spy movie seriousness than toward the Jason-Bourne end. But hey.
there's a lot of 80s iconic commercials that were big big back then brought in lots of revenue and were iconic... then they rehashed it into this commercial... but it was a different time back then. but they're trying to target their audience but it's pretty niche to begin with, even back then.
The modern world has no car culture. Basta. Enterprises should invest in a new form of culture based on shared or public mobility, but they just can't.
This commercial wasn't for people that watch Dennys' videos. The commercial is for people with lots of money that want to appear as 'hip' or 'trendy' and don't mind that their car is in the garage all the time. It's fine, not a big deal.
If this will be true it is very frightening. So sad and ridiculous. I have two cars (XJ and XF) Found this video because I’ve been long time following your Ukrainian channel. Take care, Göran in Latvia
If Elon is nice to Ramzan Kadyrov, he could make a special limited Kadyrov version of the Cyber truck. Likewise, Jaguar could include Vladimir Soloviev and family in their new campaign.
It maybe a trap. Gain some outrage and declare now we have your attention, here is the Jaguars we know you want to see. After Budlight, it is possibly a parody, but who knows?
Some British cultural history to explain what you are looking at and to provide a little context. By the early '90s a particular trend was emerging in British TV car adverts; big budget adverts with production values like a Hollywood movie that did not really show the car the advert was supposedly for or even tell you very much about it. The actual purpose of the adverts was to get the production companies that made them lots of awards thus attracting more clients. If they happened to sell some cars that was a happy coincidence. Hey, waitaminute! Why would *anyone* think this was a good idea? For that we have to go back a little further to 1984 and Apple's now famous Macintosh commercial which was shown during the Super Bowl XVIII. A 60 second advert that was shown only once on national American television. It was filmed in the UK and directed by Ridley Scott. All the actors seen on screen are English as was the cinematographer. It was a watershed moment in television advertising. Everyone-and-his-brother sat up and took notice of the advert. The message to marketing companies was clear - you don't have to show the product you are selling *if* the advert is impressive or controversial enough (and the British are very good at making them). So, is Jaguar's advert for an electric car that doesn't show us the car nor tell us much about it a good advert? Well, yes, because it has lots of people talking about it. Just as in showbiz, ANY publicity is GOOD publicity. The production company that made the advert will get more clients so job done. Jaguar is a luxury brand therefore most people will never be able to buy a new one whether they like the advert or not. See also: Guinness - Surfer advert, 1999, UK. ...and Guinness NOITULOVE advert. (You'll see why it's called that when you watch it.)
I like Pink Panther though, if they go in that direction I approve. But this commercial looked like something out of a fashion show, which doesn’t make much sense to me personally. EDIT: oh I forgot this is based on Jaguar, which might not be a Panther.
Can't quite follow the anti-hype. In the end they are catering towards very special kind of people. Not even LGBTQ specific but like modern extravagant people with lots of money. Imagine someone in the US buying a cybertruck which is also a very niche sub group, and "transfer" that to someone living in Switzerland, UK or the Netherlands. Sure, the advert is weird, but lots of adverts are, doesnt mean much. And maybe in the end the new direction is even intended as luxury car in India or China.
embarrassingly cringe
Instead of using a car like normal people do, Jaguar has chosen to crash-test their entire brand 😢

When the 18 year old intern is put in charge of the rebrand
I saw this earlier today. "Cringe" is a mild word.
Uber woke
The commercial looks like it was created by AI, with the only three prompt words used being gay, magenta, and stone.
I didn't see any sex in the video but I do notice that people seem pretty preoccupied with sexual proclivities of complete strangers. Weird.
Jaguar is not UK, it is Indian company for a years. Indian revenge :D
Unintended revenge.😂

I love Jaguar’s new avant gard advertisement. It’s beautiful! ❤

But hey.
You are right Denys
The gratuitous mixing of upper and lower case in the name looks like it was scribbled down by a four-year-old. Just pathetic.
Based on the fact that even you are talking about it, I think this marketing has been a success.
Denys and Jaguar❤❤ Love this!!!!!!! Xx
Wonder if it'll go the same as bud light beer ?
Never really cared for jags and I'm a car collector 30+ years.
Maybe they should bring the Yugo back?
i dont mind it as an add, I dont take it seriously though.
Who knows what they were thinking while making this... Do they want to sell cars or not? _No one_ would be able to tell that this is a car company.

I couldn’t agree more so ridiculous thank you for covering this
That Rated R meme was the best.
i thought it's ad for some fashion clothes company lol

Who will remember Jaguar or Bud Light in 10 years?
Marketing fail

Jaguar cars are for rich people, and rich people love this sort of bizarre nonsense. Just look at the sorts of clothes they wear.
It maybe a trap. Gain some outrage and declare now we have your attention, here is the Jaguars we know you want to see. After Budlight, it is possibly a parody, but who knows?
Its almost as bad as Brexit (Saying this as a UK citizen)

Jaguar will sell something else but absolutely not cars for sure with their DEI bullshit. 😅

I don't care. There are real actual problems in the world, other than some stupid commercials.
Jesus christ on a motor bike😂
Appalling.
😥
Phaguar. Yuk.
I think they would be as bold to spell it with an F.
This is the western european culture that Ukraine should be independent of. Glory to Ukraine.
Yeeeesh
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤦♂️
Oooh, black people!
I MUST buy a Jaguar now!!
... said no one ever... Why did they make this?
And 3 white people, and 2 asians! All with ridiculous hairstyles and clothes. Nothing to do with cars whatsoever.
