Just going about my day on the edge of Death Valley -- driving out to the Area 51 Alien Travel Center, stopping at the site of a proposed zeolite mine, an encounter with some wild horses and a mysterious generous biker...and finally, playing with 14 puppies that were rescued from the desert!

Wow, 14 little Angels to find homes. My Sister rescues German Shepard's in Lancaster CA and finds homes for them and currently she has 9 Foster dogs. So nice of the gentleman to leave you gas funds, that was awesome!!
Oh my God!!!! I love the puppies!!!! those people caring for the puppies and the Mother are #1 in my books, if I had Millions of dollars they would certainly be getting a Million, god bless them.

The ability to see both side of an issue is a sign of intelligence .
That’s what I like about her, she always seems open-minded about things.
Notwithstanding the complexity of the pickle we find ourselves in there are not two sides to the issue of fossil fuels anymore than there were two sides to thalidomide.
Sarah revealed the key concept that gets in the way of people accepting that. She did that when she described herself as not an environmentalist because she likes this thing and that thing including her off road 16mpg SUV.
The Guardian published an article this week reporting that a survey of climate scientists think now that the Paris Accord 1.5% target will be passed significantly to a level of 3 to 4 degrees celsius. That's like going from stage three to stage four in cancer. Reality is that fossil fuels must go.
Yes I understand that Wonderhussy cannot travel to quite a number of locations that she visits with an electric vehicle. And that it's an expensive proposition. But it needs to be on the table - For all of us.
What she can do and all of us can do is start. Her Heat pumps for the house are a start. She can, and in some ways quite easily transition to an all electric house. Induction cooktops, convection ovens and cooking pots. Clothes drying on lines and electric washing machine and water heaters (heatpump or solar here as well) are available and not horrifically expensive and won't interfere with how she makes her living. I'd love to see the episode where her friends and follower help her build her solar infrastructure to annihilate that huge power bill she mentioned. Heck I'd go there and help.
It's clear Sarah is smart and understands this. It comes across in the way she discussed it. As you note her ability to understand the problem comes across well.
Finishing up on the fossil fuel dilemma. It's not an if but a when it will be put to rest.
@@cre8tvedge Just so you understand, The current administration isn't doing anything impressing to clean up the environment. Pushing for electric vehicles under the present
circumstances only risks leaving people stranded. We don't have near the infrastructure to support electric vehicles in this country...and going to electric vehicles seems to be
the major focus of late. Sarah would be totally insane to try to use one for her sole transportation.
I doubt you saw the video I did. A news crew went out to check on a new recharge site for electric vehicles. Well. there they were...several charging stations. But over the hill
and out of sight...was a huge diesel engine running a generator. People using the site to recharge didn't know the generator burns enough diesel fuel in a day to run a train locomotive clear across the country in about 3 days each day it operates. We need fossil fuels for now...and will for several more years...that is IF we can get back to letting
companies compete for newer and more efficient ways to create and use energy. Beyond that, this is still the cleanest country to live in. A lot could be gained by cleaning up India and China...else all our sacrifices will be in vain. They'll just keep on poluting.

Oh my goodness, those puppies are adorable. There’s nothing like puppy breath and puppy nibbles on your finger. God bless them for taking in that mama and those babies.
One of my two dogs 🐕 passed away in my arms a couple months ago. His brother is verry sad and lonely. Those puppies are so adorable i hope they all find a good home. I am thinking of adopting one of those puppies when they are ready 😊
Those puppies are adorable. I just took in a young stray husky myself about a month ago. No tags, no chip, no collar, nothing. Covered with ticks and rather skinny. Coat was a mess. She is now curled up at my feet after her walk.
Huskies are super smart and super weird. Love them, Congrats! And thank you for taking her in.
There are too many people in this world that mistreat or neglect their animals. Thank goodness there are more people like you that balance out that equation.

Apparently that abandoned brothel in Ash Meadows was where Edward Abbey wrote Desert Solitaire, while working, briefly, as a school bus driver. I learned that from Ken Layne's book! Which I picked up at the Shoshone museum a couple weeks ago!

Nice job ! My dad does electrical, he worked at the test site and we lived in Pahrump I graduated from the high school in 1981, we still have a house out there. Me and my husband just purchased 3 1/2 acres in Goldpoint Nevada which you did a piece on and that video is really cool I share that with all my friends now.

My dad worked for the lady there at Armagosa opera house he knew her very well he also did work for delights Hot Springs. I have such good memories of that area our property is not far from death Valley we will be visiting there a lot.

When I was boondocking on the edge of Pahrump, at the east end of Basin Avenue, wild horses came around and got quite near. Beautiful creatures. I got some nice photos. Glad you're getting modern electricity in the casita. Stay cool - literally and metaphorically.

Those puff fish have been on the new mutual wild kingdom show. It is on Death Valley property, so the park service monitors them. Anything that hampers or hurts them, they will know and stop the issue.

Boy Wonderhussy.....first couple of minutes and you had laughing about the box! (Boing!....my special effects) but I collect seaglass and if you see any bottles/jars in red, orange or purple those will make the bottle wall really look awesome! Ok, back to you vid! Lol 😂 I guess I'll keep an eye out for the Wonderhussymobile on the side of the highway too.

With the upgraded electrical system you really should consider installing solar panels...
It is the best way to save on electricity cost for airco. When you need the airco most, the solar has maximum output.

Of course in the US the situation is a little bit different from here in Europe, as energy in the US is very cheap, but then she lives in a remote area where energy is more expensive than elsewhere.
The investment in a solar installation would probably pay back in about 5 years.
@@Rob2 She doesn't like spending money as she says she's cheap but in the long run it would be an excellent idea to do that.

I'm a trucker and used to travel that highway daily. I would see wild horses pretty often in Death Valley Jct. when Marta was still alive.

When you get the new mini split wired up the next challenge to reduce electric cost is to upgrade your roof insulation on the main house and casita. You have to get more insulation in the attic of both roofs and paint those roofs white when you get done or investigate solar panels for the roofs. Every electron helps.
