My collection is organized by Dex number. I have 9 different colored binders for the 9 current generations. I also have a trainer binder that is alphabetizes and an energy binder that has one from every set I find. I like organizing this way because I can see how cards and Pokémon change and get redesigned as the years go by.
What do you do when you have multiple different cards for a single pokemon?
Yeah I just started doing something similar, but I soon realised that every time I got a new card I had to reorganise/re-suffle cards around, and it seems like it's gonna be a massive pain in the ass. How are you doing it?
@@Cuttlefish430 I choose my favorite, and the rest I set aside for future trading. If I don't want to let it go, it goes in a seperate binder for misc. cards
This is an absolutely awesome idea..
Have every pokemon on show possibly and a top loader binder for the best pulls
I really appreciate you covering this topic. I’m trying reorganize my old cards from childhood and new pickups I’ve gotten. There are so many was you can theme different binders.
Sure thing! Glad you found it helpful!
I organize by type and by evolution. I like to keep the cards that evolve into each other together. but Im also thinking of trying to start some artist collections.
Nice, me too!
1. By set 1:03
2. By species 6:49
3. By type 7:40
4. By rarity 25:54
5. By artist 29:44
I collect a lot of cards, so I have pages dedicated to the type of cards. Full arts on some pages, tag team on a few, vmax on another, megas on the next etc. It looks so nice to have the cards match
That’s cool!
Watched along while I was sorting my binder.
Absolutely love your collection and how you have tailored it your interests. 🔥
Glad you enjoyed!
You missed one way to organize: a carddex. I'm personaly working on getting one card for every pokemon, including regional variants and it is a blast. I have three binders (one for gen1-4, one for gen5-8 and one for gen 9 + new ones coming out). It isn't for everyone to collect this way and I understand that, but for me it gave my collection a purpose. Now when I go to card shows I bring a list of pokemon that I still need a card for and I get a real thrill when I find one. Especially because I do not wish to settle for common/uncommon/rare cards unless there is no alternative (though even finding those is thrilling to me now as it brings my carddex one card closer to completion). For example, the Aerodactyl from 151 won't do, it needs to be at least a V, VMAX or higher. I really love the current illustration rares for this reason as they are gorgeous cards coming out for sometimes more obscure pokemon and I can collect them all filling out my carddex.
When I end up having multiple cards for a single pokemon I'm going to seriously consider each card and decide which I want to keep in my carddex. If the card doesn't make my carddex, but I like it enough to want to keep it, it will go in a separate binder. If I don't like it enough to keep it, it will have to be traded away or sold.
This is also how I prefer to collect, but I'm still quite new to collecting, so for now I'm setteling down for commons and uncommons (quantity before quality at my point in the collection), but I can see myself upgrading the collection to "better" cards as it gets more complete. I do not accept tagteams in my collection though, but they are great for trading purposes. I have also made an excel sheet for myself to keep track without looking in the binders all the time.
@@MarieSallaupHalse We are using very similar techniques. Besides apps (I use Dex for tracking purposes) I also use Excel to keep track of everything. Good luck with your collection.
I've just started my own dex, mostly inspired by "deep pocket monsters", but im currently just doing common/uncommon in the dex as i have another binder for my more rare cards, V/VMax and above
@@ftblCraig mine is also inspired by deep pocket monster. I loved the idea and how similar it is to how I have a living dex in pokemon home.
I’m also currently doing the! But I’m trying to get them to all be reverse holos/holos or full arts!
I thought I was the only one who collected and organized the 3rd way by type and species. I like to see all the varients and styles. Different art is so cool to see.
Yeah I like that it offers some cohesion to the collection while allowing me to still collect cards I like from every era.

I just started getting into pokemon cards despite being a long time fan of the series. I saw Deep Pocket Monsters do a video about collecting all the Gengar cards and I thought it was so neat, that I'm trying to do the same with Electrabuzz (and its line). I'm SO jealous of that Best of Game Winner card! I hope to have one some day, too.
I've been struggling to figure out how to manage my binders since I started since there are just SO many cards!
I saw that video and enjoyed it so much i have decided to do the same with collecting all Aron, Lairon and Aggron cards in english. Ordered a binder and a few cards to start it off.
tell me your studio lights are too bright without telling me your studio lights are too bright...
Tell me you’re a troll without telling me you’re a troll…
Wait, so your lights weren’t too bright?
Haha his lights are so bright he’s squinting the whole time
Nah hes just high af
Ohhhhhhh bro got roasted ohhhh maaaa gaaahhhhhh!!!!
One of my coworkers said my binders triggered his ocd, and I've been sweating ever since. Nice to see the way you do it is pretty much the same way I do
Thanks Chris Pratt
I have one binder and play the card game a lot, so I sort my cards by energy type. To save space, all energy cards (of that type) go into the same pocket. And same with duplicates.
Good tips. It's interesting I don't follow any of the common methods of organizing cards. I actually organize binders on series & pokedex order (Base/Jungle/Fossil in Pokedex order, then all Neo sets in pokedex order, etc.). I also separate full arts from non full arts within the series. I like this method since it kind of looks like all the cards next to each other are from similar sets since they are part of the same series. I'm not completing master sets or collecting 1 of every pokemon so I only collect cards I really want and skip ones I don't care about.
Excellent video! I loved the quality of the content, keep up the good work. 😅 Ironically, I think I have at least one binder with each one of these methods
Haha nice. Appreciate it.
I appreciate the different ways to organize. I usually organize by sets.
I want advice from any collector! I’m recently getting back into pokemon card collecting, and the collection I have from years ago was sorted by pokedex number, with different binders for different generations, because I had the most fun collecting all the different pokemon when I was younger. None of my “pokedexs” were ever completed though lol. That’s still fun to me, but it also gets tricky when you have like 20 different pikachu cards, or multiples of other pokemon. Most cards I collected when I was younger was just for fun from a few booster packs here and there, nothing substantial for collecting full sets. But I do have a handful of very old cards. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I should go back to organize everything? What would you do?

i like to stick all of one group on a page or pages, all my vs on a page, my exs on a page my gxs on a page, shinies, full arts, vintage holos, ect ect i think it looks amazing
Great video bro. Collection is looking good.
Nice to see putting the reverse holo and the regular in the same pocket. I was going to go that route but wondered if having both in one would somehow ruin the cards.
If you sleeve them, I don’t think you have much to worry about. I personally don’t even sleeve the non-holos for modern sets though because they’re worth pennies.
Oh yeah, baby. I’ll be using that code to get the SV series restocks. Thanks!
Sure thing!
Do you think it's necessary to protect cards in a "perfect fit sleeve" or penny sleeve before inserting into a Vault-X binder? Thanks.
I will definitely be copying your strategy. I’ll put the common in there but if I have or get the holo it’ll go in there also with its own sleeve. Saves space instead of displaying them all individually
Great video! You gave me some good ideas for my binders. Thanks a lot
Glad to hear that!
Would love to see a species collection video! I want to collect my top 10 favorite species but don't know if they should get their own binder each or combine them
I'm a species collector, I would love to see a video about it 😃
Good to know. Thanks for the feedback!
I second that, I would enjoy a species collection video.
Nice one. Thanks for sharing. Started trying to complete my first set. Stella Crown. I normally buy complete sets.
Awesome collection 😊
Thanks! 🙏🏽
I've just came back to Pokémon card collecting after many years, and I was just wondering if it really matters what binder I buy? 🙂👍
I would say, at the very least, avoid the three ring binders. These have the tendency to dent the cards with the rings. Personally, prefer VaultX because it provides the best protection: www.vaultx.com/legendvx
…but there are certainly other options out there.
@@LegendofLuke Okay, thank you 🙂
i just put 1 of highest quality (sort by number) until the end then all promo and energy. the duplicate will be in the back in order too (common will not be in binder but in the big box :p)
hi! i’ve recently gotten into pokémon collecting and have been looking for a good binder for long-term use, any recommendations?! i came across a chinese eeveelution binder which piqued my interest since it was unique and seemed rly high quality though i haven’t seen many reviews made on it. pls lmk your thoughts on this, ty!
Mercari is by far the best way to go when shopping for poké binders as well as other things honestly!
Side note: I am not the seller, but I was a buyer, I bought from this seller. 👍
You a real leven I was just organizing my 151 , Nice vids man really appreciate it , what do you use to track your cards ? Im using the Dex app
Thanks! I use Pokellector to check off cards for master sets and Collectr to track values.
I’ve downloaded Dex a while ago - I’ll have to give it a second look.
I collect by species...Scyther is my favorite Pokémon of all time. I want to own as many of his cards as possible.
That’s awesome. I like Scyther too.
Love the video! You mentioned putting the perfect fit sleeves into one additional (larger) sleeve for your more expensive cards. Is that the Dragon brand the larger sleeve you use? Thanks
Yes, I use these Dragon Shield ones: amzn.to/47Bp9XL
@@LegendofLuke Thanks! Love your videos and I am now subscribed!
How do you know what set your cards are in?
really beauty collections!!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
2:01 no, if you don't have any reverse holos in the complete set it's not a master set. A master set is EVERY card in the set INCLUDING all reverse holos.
There's different versions of master sets
@Gilliebeany wrong
Hi, I was trying to find in the video which sleeves you recommend for double sleeving. I did find your affiliate link so found the perfect fit, but didn’t know if you recommended the dragon sleeve or the ultra pro for the outer sleeve.
I recommend the Dragon Shield: amzn.to/4ix0TwA
Awesome video, what sleeves are used in this video before loading cards into a binder, especially for the rares+
Dragon Shield: amzn.to/3vwh35A
Are those the perfect fit sleeves?
So cool
great video!
Thanks for watching!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you didn't leave room for your holofoil Electrode. :D Thank you for this insightful video!
Oh no! lol - for 151?
@LegendofLuke Yes! Just started organizing my 151 set and noticed.
Do binders damage expensive cards ? Or should I buy toploader binder
I would say, if you use a 3-ring binder, yes. But these VaultX binders don’t have rings. For expensive cards, definitely sleeve them because they could get scratched when you take them in and out. I like using Dragon Shield sleeves for the cards in my binders: amzn.to/47DcGCX
Is it true that D ring binders are one of the best because they don't damage the edge of your cards?
Only if you are super careful. Put the binder away incorrectly and the ring can still leave an impression in the card if you don't line all the sleeves up correctly regardless of it being a D or O ring. No ring will be safest if you know you tend to open and close your binder a lot.
Do cards with bigger sleeves fit safely into these binder pages?
I don’t like using the larger penny sleeves - they do fit but they can be a little challenging to slide in. But I would say most sleeves do at least fit,
Is an ultra pro binder good?
Yeah they’re not bad.
Thank you:) I got one to store my hits for trading
What if you put the cards one Pokemon card in one slot. And put another Pokémon card you would see
I am organize it bye rarest to least rare is that good or bad?
My only question would be, how do you categorize the degree of rarity?
Bro has the limited addition super rare yellow cheeks Pikachu 💀💀
You know it 👌
Wait the rare one is the yellow cheek one?!? I thought it was red! I have it, I had no idea it was rare >:0
Bro has Galarian Articuno in a water binder 😂
Yep, as I explained, it’s all based on the original Pokémon’s typing.
@LegendofLuke doesn't it annoy your ocd hahaha
Bro put some sun glasses on
😎
Top 5 ways to organise cards.......proceeds to show off collection and the 3rd process for waaay too long.
From 8 minutes to 26 minute marker to get to the fourth way to sort. The 10>> button got a workout today
We just enjoy hearing him (has a very calm voice and chill tone on his videos) and see a video for our favorite game. Just chill and enjoy the video man
Damn how many binders do you have?
❤
those are complete sets, not master sets. what would we call a set with all the variants that have the set symbol? super master set? doesnt make sense
🌶🌶🌶🌶
Don’t put some cards in the same pocket
No they are not. They are literaly super expensive and overpriced way to store your cards.
It’s like 20 for a binder lil bro
Can I please trade with you?
What you trying to trade? Feel free and join our Discord. We have a trade channel in there: discord.gg/fDCrqqCw98
they bend sadly in binders
Bending doesn't count against anything for grading, but corner damage or their size getting larger from compression from being stacked in a box, does. You can put cards you care about into a top loader and then into a binder or into a box to stop all of that from happening though.
BOYCOTT AMAZON TO SAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES
Why
Oh Palestine
Nah
Lol
What
Two cards in the same slot? Even if the more expensive are sleeved that to me is a huge red flag, do it as you wish but I’m out.
You put two cards in one binder sleeve? Gross.
Bad. Binder. Behavior.
Only when they’re worth a couple cents.
i do not like it
The Gardenia Alt looks amazing when put next to the Venusaur Alt from 151! 🥬💮🥬
Yeah! I believe they’re by the same artist, right?
You have bad binder behavior
lol why?
