Goofy Whelen WPS-4008 siren test, McKinney TX 4/6/24

This was indeed "the goofiest test ever" -William
I got to meet up with William from ‪@LoneStarSirenProductions‬ as well as his sister, Gianna from ‪@LongHornTexasSirens‬
A few minutes after we got situated, Gabriel from ‪@60l7ISirens‬ showed up to join us as well. We waited for several minutes until 12:05 rolled around. At that point, Gabriel was on the phone with the EMA office when this rust bucket booped to life... Surprise! The rotator was already struggling as of one year ago and now we learn that it's completely broken!
When we ran up to the pole I could hear some relays clicking inside of the controller/battery box area and you could hear the Wattley Park 2910 prominently throughout the entire test.
Thankfully those crackheads nearby with the shopping carts didn't steal all of our camera equipment or assault us. Just another day in the life of a McDonald's city siren enthusiast lol

Yup! Those Motorola radios are apparently the reason they had to upgrade from their original ESC-864 Digital logic boards in the late 2000s-early 2010s.

Its an OptiWarn/ITS System, its going away soon though.
Also, its not an FSK system, its a APCO 25 IP Over Radio system, meaning if you even have the encryption key you still wouldn't hear anything.

Motorola doesn't do FSK. It would be the siren controller that does the FSK
