I'm new to hunter call of the wild how do you get animals to drop dead instantly because I get vital shots and I have to track the for 10 minutes
Exterior = Shoot high lvl animals and leave smaller animals.
Main zones = stack diamonds = leave highest lvl animals and cull smaller lvls

In the main zones are we shooting the bucks until they turn into higher levels? And it so how do they go higher but the other zones bucks go lower?
@@addictedgames4184I know I’m super late but in case someone else sees this, you want to shoot most of your exterior zones first and get smaller animals, you getting smaller animals is completely RNG so you just have to get lucky. Same with the Main shooting zones, it’s a lot of rng, but if you shoot down your exterior zones to smaller animals you have a lot higher of a chance to get high level animals in your main zones.

Dont have any big trophies but my favorite kill was a 200yd shot on a gold bison with the .454 rhino iron sights. Pretty proud of that one

Something I never hear mentioned is that you can find your drink zones past the drink zone time. I believe the tracks for these zones last 2 hours (in game time) past when they leave the zone. If your looking for black bear like I am currently, you actually have between 20 and 2 to find zones instead of 20-00. Correct me if I'm wrong about the 2 hours. This is how long after I have found zones after the zone time but I could be wrong.
Sometimes I find waiting for the animals to leave (or at least way late in the drink time) easier to find the zones. You don't have to worry about if the animal came yet and you don't have to worry about accidentally scaring them before they get there. Just circle the lake/river and look for tracks of the animal your looking for. One problem doing this is that if another animal drinks in the same spot after, it may cover the tracks of the animal your looking for.

Lady, another awesome instructional video! I love great ones! One thing, maybe some HM confusion comes from the term "Exterior" zones - it sounds like it means around the outside edge of the map, when they're actually just "Secondary" zones.

I’ve been trying to hunt a black bear great one, I don’t have the tripod dlc, but this video was very helpful!!!
tripods in my opinion are not really needed so much for the black bear. They are a predator, and when you kill them it kills the zone anyways!
I just got my first Great One yesterday, with only 77 hours played in the game. I'm so happy with it.

I learn something new every time I view one of these herd management videos!! I've seen in my fallow grind that respawns from grind zones move to the external zones. I believe these are the fallows respawning from the solo zones. Have you seen this before? Do you simply go back and shoot down those updated external zones again? How often should you check those external zones?
Yes they do jump to exterior zones sometimes. I check my exteriors whenever I notice that I'm getting smaller respawns or notice that something is wrong. I shoot the bigger deer or moose or whatever species that is there and setup there. Often they won't respawn but I check and if they do respawn, I grind there until that zone is shot down again. If not, I pull my tent and tripod - problem solved!

I'm trying to better understand Great One farming/Herd Management. Am I understanding this correctly?
1. Pick your map/animal you want to farm.
2. Run around the entire map and find every single Drink Zone for your specific animal. (In my case, Red Deer - Te Awaroa)
This is where I start to get a bit confused. I understand the concept of Herd Management, but practice is the tricky part for me. Lets just say there are five lakes total (just for this example). Out of the possible lake options, do I then:
Choose one that I want to be my "Farm" Lake?
Then slowly start shooting off 5s+ at all the lakes except the lake I've designated to farm at, and *at* the lake I've picked to farm at, shoot all the lower level animals? Then after a while I should start to expect to see higher level animals at my specific lake I've chosen to farm at? :fingerscrossed:
Oh and then follow up question: Where do I put down tents and tripods? I think I saw from another video that 250 yards is the minimum range that tents scare off Red Deer, so do I place my tents strategically around my farming area only at 250 yards back, and then the tripods in a good line of sight of the animals?
You shoot the mid levels and up at every zone. Main and exterior. You set up on 16 zones to start with - 8 main and 8 exterior. Shoot level 5s and up at every zone. Stack the 9s that spawn at main zones. When you get to an exterior lake and everything is small, pull up tent and tripod and move to another zone with bigger deer and continue doing that until all exteriors are small. Then pull those tents and set up as pick up tents and shoot the 9s. Then rotate on the main 8 zones going forward. Put tents at 250m and tripods at 175-200m

I had to watch this like 5 time to understand because I can’t get low lvs in my exterior and don’t know when to move tent as the next rotation there are other big deer in them
When he talks about the 8 shooting zones, does that mean 8 literaly drinkin zones, or 8 areas that may be comprised of a few drinking zones each? (Does 1 lake count as 1 zone or 3 zones if it has 3 drinking zones that can all be shot from 1 stand/tent?)
He is talking about drink zones. The tend/stand is only there for convenience, if you happen to have multiple zones that you can use a tend or stand with go for it. Technically you could do this without stands or tents but it would take a really long time to do.
I was talking about 8 individual drinking zones. But if you have some areas where you can hunt a few from the same place, there is nothing wrong with that.

Do you shoot females at all? Main zones and/or surrounding zones?
Also, can you not make a zone a main zone if it does not have 2 females?
I dont shoot females on any grind except red deer and black bear. Black bear to move them off of my main lakes, and red deer just for a chance to get a rare female for the multi mount.
I was there at that 13 kill grind, what a lucky, I mean skilled player 😂

What if your mains spawn level 2’s while you’re deep into the grind? (Or level 4’s and lower for red deer)
You will absolutely have low level animals still spawn in main zones deep into the grind. You just have to shoot them, and keep on rotating! GL on the grind!

How many main zones should you have? Is 4 too few? Is there a right number? I was thinking 4-8 just based off of the tents per map limit
Because respawns are now on a timer, you're better off to run with 8-10 zones. Might as well keep shooting instead of having to wait for respawns!

Setting up a moose grind on MEDVED. I’m finding within zones there are solo bulls. For example, I find a zone with 5 moose total (2 males, 3 females) the herd indicator says it’s a solo male then a herd of 4 (1 bull 3 cows). What should I do about this? Do you set up and shoot based on the herd indicator or the zone?
I know you say not to shoot more than 2 at a time - is 2 a must? Can I shoot one at each zone? Obviously the grind would be slower but just wanting to make sure.
Also, would you take the bucks, and then not come back to that same zone again until the hunting pressure had worn off?
And one last question. Is there such thing as a map being “too far gone” to start a grind on? I’ve played a lot of multiplayer with my friends and most of my maps are COVERED in pressure and have been obliterated.

Hello, your videos are very nice. Can I ask why you are playing with 4-8 zoom? not better 8-16 zoom?
I can't stand the argus scope. So much easier to take multiple animals down when you're using the hyperion. No huge black rim blocking half the screen and not too zoomed in so that you can't see other animals. I only use the zoom for when I'm shooting one thing and it's 300 m away or it's super cool and I want to get a good look at it

I shot all my zones and stacked like 5 dimes in a few zones. Two in the same at 1900 kills dropped them at 1932-1933 kills a shot another one at 1934 and spawned my Great One at 1935 kills. That was yesterday at 10pm
How do you even find every drink zone on a map. That puzzles me the most.

No. In main zones, you will be shooting level 2s out of those.

I understood everything, but one part was not clear to me. I understood the number of zones vary per map, but is there a set number of zones in each map? Specifically, how many whitetail zones should I aim for in Layton? I currently found 53 zones is that enough to start?
You have to be living your life playing this game too get a great one let alone 110 that's insane. Not sure if that's something that I would be proud of or not 😆.
It is kind of my fulltime job. But, I am very proud of it. I enjoy grinding, and offering ways to help people even get their first GO!

So you want to shoot down nicer deer from the entire exterior lakes and over pressure them and force respawns into drinking zones on ideal lakes ?

When you mean 8 zones is that each water spot the deer are in or 8 different lake locations I’m confused on that and what is diamond range for Fallow there my favorite and if I run out of time hunting my zones do I reset the time or completely exist to main menu and start over and how many zones should I have on Tia Aurora? And how do you do it if you don’t want to do herd management I just want to get my first great one i’ve watched your UA-cam videos and still get confused lol

How far do you need to put your travel tend away from the shot zone so they spawn in (my guess would be abit over 150 meters and put the tripot at 150 m from the zone.)
I'm asking specifically for that because I've heard, that animals don't spawn in around 200 to 300 meter when you travel to an outpost. So idk how far it is with tends.

When you mean 16 ex zones and 8 main zones do you mean drink zones or area's like different ponds
here is my issue. i often times "shoot down" a zone, and make sure its all level 1s and does right? several runs in a row it will be just level 1s. so then i move my tent and set up elsewhere right? well not long after i ALWAYS get new deer in the zones i already shot down to level 1s! how am i supposed to ever get a real grind going when all my animals are moving across the map to zones i dont even use?? they are supposed to be zones that are external zones but yet i randomly get a diamond or a huge buck to spawn in a zone i havent even shot anything at in 50 runs. not to mention i cant get more than 3 or 4 diamonds stacked at once until it tapers off and quits spawning them.

Got my 1st and 2nd diamonds on pc both Canada gooses
All my progress on Xbox is gone so are all the rares and diamonds so I started again on pc and it took me 5 to 7 months to find my 1st diamond on Xbox it was a grey wolf red brown 979 score (old score system) and now it took me 3 days to find 2 diamonds. One was a 9.08 and the other 8.89 if I can recall.
I have a diamond elk and a albino bison also a gold grey mountain lion
I have a doe that is all black and red eyes! Sadly doesn’t have a medal but it’s still super cool!!
The best animal I got so far is a diamond black tail deer, happened too show up while I was tree stand hunting and this was the second time I played the game 😂

Is there ever a reason to kill a level 1 white tail doe in any zone? Or are you never supposed to kill does.
Been at game for 3 years and ZERO great ones 😡. I swore off grinding after losing my progress after a reset. Still, I’ve put in hundreds of hours.
Spawning a great one should be based on time playing the game(like real life hunting )not on mass assembly line killing. Ugh

I’m reallly new to the game, like I don’t even have a single diamond and I think I want an albino lion first so would I go to every lake, place a tent around that area then go from lake A kill all the male or female lions then go to lake B then change the time n repeat? Or stay at the lake with the most drink zones ?

I have a question that I've have yet to see answered anywhere. Does your grind reset every time you shut the game down? As in do your deer spawns reset every time or is there some sort of save of progression? Or are you having to start fresh every time?
No your deer stay exactly the same except for what is respawning

If I set up at a location where I can shoot at 2 separate zones from a single tripod, should I consider that just one main shooting zone or can I consider that as 2 main shooting zones?
1 zone is 160M away from tripod the other is 300M.
If you're shooting at 2 zones, that's 2 main shooting zones

Has anyone seen the Sasquatch Easter egg in Layton Lake. I've seen it twice , doesn't seem to leave foot prints n I'm pretty sure it fades away of you chase it
on the red deer grind, if I have a herd with 1 buck and like 10 does and the 1 buck is a 9, should I stack him or try to get him to a level 4 or below
Probably shoot him. He’s the only good thing there
So do you need to just pick 16drinkzones out of all the other zones qnd only shoot down 8 of the 16 zones and stack the rest of the 8 main zones. So that means like for fallow the rest of the 20-30 drink zones you just let them be on the map and dont shoot them down.

@@PatrickIverstine-lu9rg Okay so I found out that you do have to hunt every single zone. So for like fallow you need to shoot down 25-35 zones and have 8 main zones
