For those of you just joining us, welcome! We're Vic and Jo and we've been narrowboating around the UK for the last few years on our 54ft narrowboat Zero. Last year we decided to give up our jobs in the city and add another boat to our fleet in hope of turning it into a travelling cafe and becoming full time boating baristas. We'll also be having a baby in just a few months time!

The most gorgeous couple on the canals, just joyful to watch. Jo's accent is just wonderful and I feel so honored to be able to share in their journey into parenthood.

Sounds like additional freezer storage would be good on Holly if the rules allow for it. Sharing the ice cream will come back three fold anyway. Goodwill is priceless!

New subscriber here! I started watching back when y'all were doing renovations on Holly, but then life got busy for me! Now I am all caught up😁. I have enjoyed watching. You guys always have a smile on your faces and always have this easy, happy, enjoy everyday kinda attitude. Its helped me to try and remember that each day. Now I need to figure out how I can incorporate nursing and narrowboats into my life🤔😁! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jennifer! We do know someone who is a nurse and lives on a narrowboat! She just stays in the area of her work and moves a car around when she moves the narrowboat, it can be done! :-D

My sister used to give out 'over ordered' ice cream "novelties" to neighborhood kids when she owned a small general store. Best advertising she ever did. Parents remembered. They might go to a big market for groceries, but many families made a point to get their bread and milk, batteries from her. She'd order and have on hand weird little things that only she'd have for customers. But... they built a chain gas station, market 2 miles away and she couldn't compete.

@@HollyTheCafeBoat nah not at all. I did have difficulty walking far towards the end, due to discomfort caused by the relaxin (and not sure I could’ve heaved lock gates around or jumped from canal side to boat easily due to that after mid-way through month 7) but other than that, I was fit, BP was low and he was cooking quite nicely. As long as the midwives were happy .....! (Stopped work at midday on the Friday - ante-natal appt - and he arrived early Sunday. They were expecting me in work on the Monday, I had to ring and say I wouldn’t be in. They said “Ahh midwife told you to stop?” And I said “No, it’s arrived and it’s a boy.”). So you go as long as you’re still comfortable and the care team are happy with you. Think someone has already said the fitter you are, the easier the labour (well ..... hopefully 😂 - it’ll certainly help you recover quicker)

We have Blue Heron rookeries along the creeks near us here in Ohio. This is what the Internet has to say about it, "A “rookery” is a colony of nests. Always a joy. I finally got out in the canoe with my daughter. The glacial river Tanana is really high from all the hot weather melting snow and ice in the mountains. It's high water backs up the fresh water Chena so the last mile or two of the Chena is more or less a lake. Lovely easy floating. We had a great time. Tip" If you put 1 or 2, 5 gal buckets of water in the front of the canoe for ballast you can padle from the back when by yourself.
Love following you two/three...your format is definitely the best of all narrow boat users ( in my opinion) looking forward to babies arrival....are you having a home birth?
Ooooo good question.. Home birth or boat birth? 🤔 not to be confused with boat berth.. Good grief 🙈
Thanks Tracey! We're not planning on a home birth, I'm hoping to use the birth as an excuse to have a nice big bath at the birthing centre :-D
