Hi would it be possible to use Makita vac's bluetooth parts on milwaukee vac so that it would be compatible to makita aws tools? I havr this vac too and got a new 40v makita sander with aws and reallg want it to work on this vac. Please let me know if yoj know anything about how to male them work together. Would it be similar concept and instead of the relay we can just attach a makita switch or bluetooth parts to the milwaukee vac.

Definitely sounds possible. I don't really know how the Makita system works though. I'm also cross-platform with a Makita 18V x2 miter saw and Milwaukee 18V table saw. I decided this would be the most versatile way to use the vac. If you decide to try it, come back and let me know how it works out! Thanks for watching!

@@FineLineJoinery Wish I could do something like that. However, we should be able to buy the AWS part on any AWS tool and try to connect that to a Milwaukee tool. Then find the Bluetooth receiver part on a Makita AWS Vac and connect that to our Milwaukee vacs :)

@@tcguns I don't know. The parts might reject each other... 🤣

have you had any problems with this? is there anything you would do different? Im about to do this to a pair of those same vacs

No problems. The more I use it, the more I love it! I keep one remote clipped to my tool apron. I walk up to my saw, turn on vac via remote, make a cut and turn off the vac as I am walking back to install the piece I cut. I plan to install the other remote on the end of the hose, to use when I'm cleaning up the jobsite after I have packed my tools and apron away.
Let me know if you have any questions about the build. Good luck!

This is an awesome upgrade. I just bought this vacuum myself and that was the first thing that come to mind was I can no longer use my foot pedal for turning on my shop vac. If you’re willing I would love to get more detailed information as to what pieces you bought to make this work? Part numbers and where you bought them. Great job!!!! You solved the only fault I really see with this vac.

@@packoutjunkie5813 Thanks! Yeah, so I'm using the vac at a jobsite right now and the remote stopped working. I really miss it!!! Once I finish this install, I will troubleshoot the problem and might have a better recommendation for the parts. I'm hoping it's just a loose wire or something...

@@packoutjunkie5813 Ok, so i'm back in the shop with the vac. I opened it up and everything looks fine. Gave all of the wires a tug at the connectors, all good. And now the remote works fine again. Just like when you take your car to the mechanic and it just won't make that sound again?... I will add a components used list in the description. Good luck!

@@FineLineJoinery Thank you so much. This will be awesome. I used it for the first time today and love it. This upgrade will make it perfect.
