    Make sure you make templates out of this one. ie the ceiling boards. When you do another boxer, you've got them handy. You can also get into making pre-packed stuff for other people. A bit more cash in your pocket.

    With reference to the above cab area . I took out headliner ( reupholstered that in luxury suede) . Reupholstered seats. Took out plastic overhead liner and carpeted that in beige . While all out
    I used 8mm acoustic thermo silver foam then carpetred over that. So much easier to remove to get in there . Also while all out check the ariel mount as these can leak

    We were told the headboard area will stain from the constant use of the people’s head ( grease, sweat ) if carpeted. We used a stick on tile in the headboard recess and it looks great. Where the mattress is concerned - we went for the smaller one- and it suits us both well. 👍

    Great videos my friend am doing the same venture as yourself also doing all upholstery too as I'm a marine upholsterer. I'm taking templates of everything using fibretex patterning fabric. Doing the same van type . I'm at the same stage. Reference bed area I am going small double 135cm width ways. That 15cm is a lot in a van and realised I can get a small pull out pantry between bed and shower . As I'm doing same layout . I'm going gasless in mine . Insulated the same except used trimfix high heat adhesive for boards , no squeaking and stayed up . Also using 2 x maxxair in my roof with a marine fusion dab to go with my fusion sound system. Great build

    Myself i would design a bed that wraps around the end of the washroom enclosure a little, and is perhaps foldable or telescopic ? Then say you had 2 single mattresses stacked on each other by day, and they slot alongside each other for sleeping ?
    Voila!
    Depends also on lengthways or transverse sleeping orientation doesn't it ?
    Plus if we are around 6 feet tall or more, then options are more limited.
    Its always a nail biter when you want max living space but don't want to sacrifice sleeping area.

    • @VanologyConversions
      @VanologyConversions  11 місяців тому

      The lwb boxer/ducato is equivalent to a mwb on the sprinter and crafter so options are quite restricted. I can get a full length mattress in the boxer but if you wanted bigger I would have to fit flares 👍🏻

    Can I ask why you didn’t put up a vapour barrier on the walls and ceiling?
    I’m inquisitive because I’m at the same stage in the build well, I’ve put the vibration mats on, 10mm soundproofing and 25mm PIR boards.
    TIA.

    • @VanologyConversions
      @VanologyConversions  11 місяців тому +1

      Vapour barriers are a waste of time in my opinion. You can’t make a van water tight on the inside so all your gonna do is trap the moisture in there. Best to build it to allow it to breathe with high and low level venting to evaporate 👍🏻

    Hi what size cable is suitable for max fan brilliant videos still.

    • @VanologyConversions
      @VanologyConversions  Місяць тому

      The maxxfan runs at 5 amps, we run 2.5mm cable for the majority of our electrics to allow for any changes later on. If your going to spec a lower rated cable which you can be sure to calculate your voltage drop on the length and take into consideration you may use the cable to power the lights on the shade too 👍🏻

      Any colour & why do the same as everyone else, the new owner will love it. Mine needs ripping out & redoing, it needs the whole interior ripping out, so you may get a call when I have saved a bit. When the gas bottles I have are empty, i wont be able to get that size so, I will need to rearrange the van then.
