Hey everyone! Due to strict guidelines, we decided to re-upload the video without certain clips to make it suitable for all our audience. We appreciate all of your support. Thank you!
My 14yr old son has Tourette’s. He didn’t choose to have it, he gets bullied on the daily and it makes me sad and mad that anyone would fake the condition and make money from it. Disgusting.
I agree with you. You can also tell that it is planned, because from what I understand the ticks are 100% random in occurrence. With that being said there is no way you could perfectly time and predict the ticks for cameras
My mom died in 2020 of Huntingtons Disease. I’ve tested negative fortunately. I feel like she could’ve created a TikTok about HD and done such a positive thing for the community as no one really knows how terrible this disease truly is. This whole situation is a genuine shame.
My grandmother had Parkinson's, and I have an extremely high chance of developing it aswell. I'm so sorry you lost your mom, but I'm so happy you tested negative.
This infuriates me as a mother of a son who has Tourette’s. Social media has made it possible for people to exploit and mock those who truly have issues that effect their lives. Also, tics are not always verbal( like what she pretended to have). Facial tics are more prominent and OCD tendencies with my son. These people on social media are a huge reason why mental health issues are not taken seriously and made fun of.
That's a really interesting take! I hadn't thought of that. You might be right. It's hard to know exactly what went on in their mind to lead them to do this.
Maybe it’s easier to come out and say you have something much less serious than to talk about being young but having a fatal disease? It doesn’t excuse it but may help others to understand.
This was what first came to my mind so I looked around to see if someone else commented it too. It could be a very plausible situation considering the overlapping symptoms between both illnesses. While this does not exclude the behaviour whatsoever it does bring a more human perspective instead of just assuming it was done for the sake of it and clout.
2 things. 1. People that fake disorders makes it even more harder for people who actually have it to be believed. Like I sadly met someone who said their own parents are saying they’re faking it. 2. Having one illness doesn’t give you the right to FAKE another. Just accept your own illness instead of trying to be someone else.
@@felixoupopote There is an actual disease where you pretend to have a disease or mental illness for attention so if I had to make a guess for which illness Emerald has, I'd bet it's that one.
@@felixoupopote i hope you never have children. if they're looking on the internet for attention don't you think that says something? how do you know they're spoiled? you sound redundant calling a whole adult a brat. They're clearly struggling with something yet you're so blind that you're willfully ignorant.
Hi, Nurse here! About the medical documents: The term "pleasant" has nothing to do with how nice they are, but everything to do with their affect, i.e. how they're affected by their diseases. A Pleasant patient in this case world mean that they weren't displaying signs of aggression or agitation. 99% of the time, we wouldn't use the phrase "very pleasant." We'd write just "pleasant". HOWEVER, the medical and social history portion of the document is VERY incomplete. Even if it's a follow-up, the medical history portion of the document should still reestablish how long the behavior has been present, what symptoms the patient is displaying, and what, if anything, has any influence on those symptoms. The social history would have history on parents, smoking/drinking/drug use habits (even past habits) and things like job and education. Even on the patient's copy, this would be present. It is for these reasons alone that the document is fake, NOT because the term "very pleasant" was used. As far as Emerald goes, I hope they find the help they seem to need. Huntington's Disease is horrific to go through, and I have no doubt that just carrying the knowledge that they have a positive diagnosis, coupled with the fact that they've seen firsthand how it will affect someone in real time, has to be causing a variety of mental health issues on its own. My own personal theory is maybe they were faking having Tourette's because while there isn't a cure, it doesn't progress as severely as Huntington's, people with Tourettes can still live relatively normal, long lives, and it was their way of escaping their diagnosis, i.e. a denial tactic of sorts. It doesn't excuse their actions, but could provide an explanation for them faking it to begin with (again, it's just purely speculation on my behalf). I don't think we'll truly ever know why they faked having Tourette's, especially when they could have become a wonderful advocate for Huntington's, but I do really hope they're taking this time away to get help and work on themselves.
@@Renot911 I'm sure she thinks you're awesome, but in the context of medical records, it's pretty much cuz you're not punching, kicking, biting, or cursing out others in your life or the staff. But I promise you that if you and your doctor get along well, you're likely a favorite patient in that office! 🥰
i got ocd and i still got tics but aint always ticcing like every occasion such as driving or reading or in my classes. and i dont let it define me like that roses and tics lady
Exactly, she happens to tic exactly when she wanted to and was ready to film it, and it was always something so cliche and always something that you can tell she thinks is funny, she isn't surprised, she's happy and making fun of it, why? Not being in control of yourself surely isn't funny.
Of course it is! In La La Land, the land of crazy people and things, it's true! (Merely a joke, she's crazy and wants attention. But that's just how things work in her head.)
Knew a kid with Tourette’s. It was painful for him. It wasn’t cute or just a quirk. He’d unintentionally injure himself from it and he couldn’t help it. Everybody could see how it affected him. Sure people can embrace themselves and deal with their condition in different ways but it’s weird how this creator glorified it and tried to almost fetishize it…
Yep, very sad things like this happen. There’s also a content creator named Sweet Anita who had a tic that made her strain her voice and she ended up coughing blood due to another condition she had with her trachea (though thankfully this tic is now gone).
Can I ask, “I just don’t record on days that I have ticks” is that even possible? I doubt anyone with Tourette’s can predict when they will have them?! Surely if they could then they would be easier to control? I imagine this is so insulting to those who have Tourette’s.
Say a stressful event happened... or is going to happen. Or certain times during your cycle.. sometimes it's possible to "forecast" it. But suppressing tics can make then even worse later on .. it's like they build up and you eventually can't contain them.
Yes and no, although we cannot predict persay which days our tics are going to happen, some days are worse or not as bad. Im trying to think of an example, but think of having allergies in the spring. Some days you may sneeze a loooot, or some days you can make it through the day with a few sniffles, you never really know what days those are gonna be, but sometimes when you get that scratchy feeling in your throat you know your allergies are still gonna be effective that day to some extent. Pretty similar with tics, some days i have little to no tics, and others, like last night, i could barely fall asleep because my tics got so bad out of nowhere. Also remember Tourette's differs from person to person, hope taht helps! ♡
@@d.h.4778 I have heard it IS Painful. Which... Sounds ridiculous but as someone with OCD I kinda get it? I don't think it's a .. physical pain? But more a theoretical pain in the mind. I could definitely be wrong someone please let me know! That's just how I have interpreted a few things a few creators have said.
ay I saw yur video, ocd compulsions had me messed up, my compulsions worked almost like psychological / physical tics, too. This story was whack surprised theyre covering it again, pull thru sis. :)
I did think it was strange that she was always seemingly happy about her "tics." I've seen other content creators with tics that, yes, sometimes laugh at their tics, but mostly they seem neutral if not mildly annoyed--which makes sense considering it's part of their life, and it can hinder tasks sometimes. I also have a friend that I played games with, and he usually muted his mic if he was having a series of tics pretty bad because he was self-conscious about it. I doubt very many people would be, like, constantly cheerful at their own tics. Everyone copes in different ways, and sometimes we humans use humor to deal with stress, yet I find it hard to believe someone would make light of their own condition constantly and never ever seem frustrated by it. I still gave her the benefit of the doubt considering it's social media and maybe that's just the side of her life she wanted to record, but I'm sad to find out it's likely not true.
@Icarus_ I was extremely confused about the “they” thing. Is this video about ONE person named “Emerald” or is there another person involved? Is Tics And Roses two different people? I’m so confused. 🥴
@Icarus_ Ok, I get that (good example, btw). So it’s not about singular versus plural so much as it’s about avoiding masculine & feminine pronouns? Edited: I’m not being shady or judgmental, btw. I’m just ignorant about this particular subject and am trying to learn & understand.
This. I have a tic that has me squeak. When I’m with friends it’s fine and even sometimes funny bc they are cool with it but if I’m at school when it happens it’s very embarrassing and I just wanna run away when people laugh at me.
My son has a severe left eye tic, that gets worse when he is stressed. He is always being teased, told to use rubber bands to snap whenever he feels it, down to the stupidest insults. It's not cute, it's not funny, and it's not trendy.
I don’t really know if you should ask that. But I’m not sure. But it’s really not trendy, my bsf’s sister had Tourettes along with him, and she and him would always get teased. His sister was the only thing helping him hold on, so when she committed, he couldn’t hold on and had to be watched at all times, only leaving the house with somebody. It disgusts me to see people faking this, it’s definitely not trendy like you said.
I had a lot of motor tics when I was younger, but they diminished (not entirely) as I got older. You learn to ignore it really, and I’d say it’s mostly due to lack of sleep mixed with stress that really brings them on. The better he can learn to just accept it will make things much easier. Said, but easier for him to change how he responds to it than to try and get others, especially kids, to change.
Hypochondria or some type of histrionic personality disorder sounds most plausible. Seems like huge quantity of people recently are obsessed with getting as much attention as possible anyway they can and that’s incredibly unfortunate. It’s insulting to those who truly suffer. Not that suffering with a mental health issue isn’t a valid struggle, but instead of owning up to the truth of that struggle and seeking help, she seems to choose to ride on the coattails of conditions that will get more attention or are currently a popular curiosity which is even more egregious in my opinion.
If they genuinely are malingering*, then it's like a state of psychosis where they GENUINELY don't know better however I really feel like if she was one. She wouldn't be so defensive and would keep finding a new condition to identify with. Logically speaking, they would need to be obsessed with a new identity and be too focused in their current identity to address their past
@@daguppz7945 hmm. I have never heard of malingering. I am going to look this up. *Edit- ahhhh I see. This is more fitting for sure! Thanks for introducing this word to me
I used to suffer from hypochondria but it was more like: - sure I had a brain tumor - thought bones were broken when not - self diagnosing like 17 illnesses - constantly taking about my illnesses (tho many symptoms was due to being mentally unstable and getting no help, cause it disappeared after recovery and now I actually have a hard time taking my health and injuries seriously even with 11 surgeries behind me)
My husband’s hurt him sometimes too and sometimes he makes this really loud throat clearing sound that scares absolutely everybody in the room, i’m the only person in the world that can completely ignore his tics and treat him like they’re not there and that’s really sad for him..
While I don’t agree with what TicsandRoses did. Sending death and swatting threats is just completely unnecessary. Honestly in my opinion sending death threats makes the person equally as bad.
Everybody who does something bad says they got death threats. On the dot, like clockwork. Either people love sending death threats or they are overexaggerating for sympathy. I'm suspicious and my trust in them is already compromised, so I believe it's more likely the latter. Probably got Disney's version of "My mama wishes you were dead," (a la Zootopia) and said they felt threatened so please stop holding them accountable for their actions. I bet they weren't threatened with death.
I think what really gave it away was the video of them driving. Having such extreme tourettes as they claimed, they wouldn't have been allowed to drive.
I have tourettes, granted not as bad as emerald (supposedly) did, but its still unlikely that I’ll be able to drive unless my motor tics greatly decrease/go away
I also think the doctors paper. There were so many different illnesses and some even don't see fitting for one expertise. Writing ptsd twice and with all that strong illnesses she would be "soul disabled" "seelische behindert" as we would say in Germany. Also what makes them only speak up for tourists only of they have so many other crippling illnesses. The text is not even so weared. And all this makes it difficult to belive her that she has any other illnesses.
Exactly, if their tics were that bad that while they’re cooking they almost dunked their head in a hot pan, I’d imagine that they couldn’t function doing day to day tasks without some sort of extra help?
Calling the person out and confronting them for faking such a disorder is something i can agree on but bullying and having violent comments regarding this person is extreme. We're in a era where we're looking for attention and validation on the internet. Either it is through your gender identity, mental health history, disorders in general or simply your body. We will see more and more cases. Yes of course it's upsetting but that's something we can't avoid.
Imo we all need to be hut with negativity because if not we would all live up to the stereotype of American entitled haha and even for those who aren't they would be soft
I actually have Tourettes, So her behavior really pisses me off!! I got made fun of as a kid for having Tourettes😭😭 i would have really loud verbal and physical tics ESPECIALLY if i got stressed out. TOURETTES IS NO JOKE TO BE HAD.
Honestly she would’ve been loved and praised if she actually used her TikTok account to spread awareness on Huntingtons Disease. (Without exaggeration to the symptoms) Its such a shame seeing how far people can go for clout….
13:04 that is not a red flag. Can someone not have a consultation until their older. It could be financial issues, pushing it off, denial, etc., a bunch of reasons people may get them later. I finally got diagnosed with autism when I was 17/18 and it was something thought about and pointed out since I was kid, but it just never ended up happening until, finally, a year or two ago. I'm 19 and I'm still getting diagnoses and finally getting back into therapy and realizing there are things that I should tell a doctor about.
@@livelongandprospermary8796 you can be diagnosed in adulthood with adhd, plenty of parents get diagnosed when their children also are getting evaluated.
I totally agree. I just recently have been diagnosed with multiple things that I've had for most of my life, if not all of it, and I'm 24. I just didn't have access to the right resources earlier.
I was diagnosed with adhd at 18 (I'm 29 now). I was getting a checkup at my family doctor, and a nurse (who had a kid with adhd) told my mom that I might have it. When we went to a psychiatrist to figure it out, my mom brought all my report cards from elementary school. Every single year the teacher would write something like "she's a good student but she needs to pay more attention" or "she needs to stop reading/doodling while I'm teaching". Teachers called my parents in multiple times to show them how messy my desk was. Looking back it seems insane that nobody figured out I had adhd 🥲 In girls it's often overlooked because we usually don't act out as much as adhd boys tend to do.
Honestly if this person had came online and said “I’m a hypochondriac and these are my daily struggles” INSTANT CLICK. That’s so interesting, It’s still vulnerable, and it doesn’t suppress a struggling community. I think they may have been able to succeed further with honesty. Oh well.
I don’t have full blown tourettes, thankfully, but I do get tics (My therapist thinks it’s linked to my medically diagnosed GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I have had these tics for years, and only realized that they weren’t “normal” at age 12. Ever since then tics have brought me nothing but shame and embarrassment. I completely agree with your statement.
Ticking together is so precious! I’ve followed her for a while. She helped me out with advice & is amazingly kind. I’m so pleased to see her referenced & recognized for her work sharing the truth in a kind, educational manner. I highly recommend her!
Something that really stood out to me while watching some of their TikTok's is how they laughed/smiled after having a tick. I don't personally deal with Tourette's so please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a bit weird? If you go through ticks pretty much every day, wouldn't it stop being "cute" or "Funny" at some point?
(as someone with tourettes) occasionally I do laugh at my tics if I’m with friends and it was natural comedic timing/is random enough to be funny, but with the majority of tics I just try to ignore them, as for me personally most aren’t very laughable
I don’t have Tourette’s either but from watching youtubers who (as far as I know), actually do, they laugh about it all the time. Especially when it’s being filmed, since that’s the whole point
I have nervous tics (not the same as Tourette’s) and I have a certain one that’s a high pitched sound that can happen throughout my tics that could be considered ‘cute’ I only laugh a bit because of how weird it can be sometimes, and it’s just kinda like a ‘haha anyways’ thing. So, no I wouldn’t be smiling and laughing at each tic
My sister that has tourettes was bullied so badly she dropped out of high school. It's not a cute quirky thing. I'm sure some people can laugh it off but in general it is a painful, sometimes debilitating thing. And tics can get worse with stress, so stressing out over your tics make it so much worse.
Watching someone suffer with Huntington's is horrible, my niece got diagnosed at age 3, her mother had it and her grandmother had it. Her grandmother died from it and her mom took her own life due to it because her's also showed up very young and by the time she was in her mid 20's her life was lived in constant pain. My niece has never really progressed mentally to the age she should be which currently is her mid 20's, she still acts about the mental age of 5-6 and it's heartbreaking to witness because she has always been the sweetest child ever. We were told when she was a toddler and first got diagnosed, that she most likely wouldnt live past he age of 13-15 and this broke us, so for her to still be alive in her mid 20's is a miracle.
My aunt died, at age 9 months, from Huntington’s. She never smiled, crawled, sat up, or did any of the normal things a baby does. My grandfather died, from Huntington’s, before I was born. My mom died, weighing 55 lbs, at age 46. Another aunt died, at age 46. Another aunt took her own life, because the symptoms were making her life miserable. She did it at age 46, so she wouldn’t feel guilty, by outliving the age of her sister’s death. Another aunt died, because she choked on food, due to the lack of muscle control & issues with swallowing, from Huntington’s. THANK GOD, I tested negative, because the guilt I was carrying, for having children, although I knew I had a 50% chance of Huntington’s was overwhelming. Prayers to you & your family
Just saying…having a Pinterest board about a illness someone might have isn’t that unusual. I have MECFS and Fibromyalgia and I have a Pinterest board with all the stuff I’ve found.
I agree too, I have Tourette's and I have loads of information saved to my notes app and camera roll as it helps me to be able to tell the difference between Tourette's and other difficulties that I have as a lot of them overlap and I want to know what is affecting me the most so I can focus on managing the symptoms.
Same here, I put autism stuff on mine all the time. Autism is a very case-by-case situation and I like reading about other's experiences with it. For example, I'm not prone to meltdowns from sensory overload, I can tolerate lots of stimuli. But many others can't.
People like her cause other people to be overly critical about normal things that those who are truly disabled might actually do, like the pinterest board. It also causes non disabled people to think they have license to scrutinize the lives of disabled people. Everyone involved sucks.
It appears that her only real issue is an unhealthy fear of being unremarkable. She puts on different identities like outfits until she feels special. When it gets old, she finds another
They* They go by they/them, actually I know they’re a terrible person, but respecting pronouns should be for anyone because that’s apart of their identity now. if you noticed, even the voice over in the video called them by their pronouns.
“I just don’t record on days I have Tourette’s“ honey… you can’t predict when you’re going to have Tourette’s or when you can avoid them. People who have Tourette’s have to suffer with never knowing when their tics will come up, nor can they control them.
Idk if you have Tourette’s, but some people with it definitely have better and worse days like with any illness… If you’ve had an illness for years, you can feel what kind of day it is going to be, unless something surprising happens. (By surprising I mean like you wake up and think this is going to be an easier day but there’s a pop quiz, or an accident, or bad news, etc.)
not exactly. some days less than others! some people can go a day with none at all, and sometimes find other days harder than others.! hope this helps..
I was just searching for this video to finish watching it then i couldn't find it because it got removed to be edited again. Glad it's been reuploaded so i can finish it 😌
I have been diagnosed with Tourette’s but I don’t have vocal tics. My tics are mostly in my face, like bouncing my brow and opening my eyes bigger here and there. When I was young I would make little grunts but I seemed to have grown out of that, thankfully.
I have Tourette's too and those are my most common tics. Have you found any ways to manage your facial tics? I'm only asking because mine have flared up recently and I'm looking for ways to calm them down a bit.
@@indialois hey. I hope it will get better soon. I am not familiar with tourists but maybe some Stress relieving exercises like breathing exercises, meditation, fight toys or with music. 🤔😕
@@indialois they were much worse when I was younger. As I got older they became less frequent. I still do the “eye thing” all the time, but it’s more pronounced, and accompanied by others, when I’m extremely tired or nervous.
I've been disabled for most of my adult life, and have several Dr's at Virginia Mason, have been to the ER countless times, have had 6 surgeries there, and have been going to Virginia Mason since 2014. I don't have a single piece of paper that looks like their paperwork.
I have ticks and It's taken me years to not be embarrassed by them. It took finding friends who didn't giggle and do something similar to what I did to poke fun. I always laughed it off, but it still hurt when my "friends" made fun of something I cannot control.
Your not alone there. I also have tics and ive suppressed most of mine for years. If you ever want a friend who wont judge you and can relate im here 🫶🏼
Very off topic but I could listen to your voice ALL DAY. Your voice is so calming I swear everytime I watch one of your videos I fall asleep within like 5 minutes 😭
Why would a doctor discourage someone with a family history of Huntington Disease from getting tested? I have a lot of medical problems and from my experience, this seems like something a doctor would definitely want a patient to confirm.
Also, because there’s nothing they can do. It can’t be treated, it can’t be prevented. It’s not like getting tested for the BRACA gene so that you can potentially have preventative surgery or extra mammograms. All your doctor can do for you is what they would have done when symptoms started anyway. Testing doesn’t help in any way; if you have the gene, you’ll know when you get sick, and knowing early won’t change your outcomes, it’ll just give you more time to worry about them.
@Kerokero Very good point. I don’t know if we’re close to the point of being able to do genetic tests early enough to be able to resolve that issue. Hopefully some day soon, as it’s only a 50/50 chance for someone who does have it passing it along. It’s high af, but it should hopefully make it possible one day.
Hey! I’m in med school and I actually know the answer! Sometimes if someone doesn’t plan on having children you refrain from testing because the psychological burden of knowing can be debilitating. Also, there’s no treatment so unless it’s related to family planning there’s really nothing to do
I think it is possible that "TicsandRoses," the sister, and Mom might all be the same person, or that they are all working out something together, damage control, most likely.
@@kaylaomara I have to assume you're joking. Why exactly couldn't we have an opinion? Especially since it concerns other people who do indeed have the condition.

Their ableism makes it so much harder for the rest of us to get the treatment and diagnosis we need.

I truly believe when she got her huntingtons diagnosis and saw Tourette’s blowing up and how her symptoms aligned she found a place in that community where she then gain clout and kinda dug herself a deep hole
This is tragic. It looks like they've been suffering from extreme anxiety over their Huntington's result, and in order to avoid facing an incurable death sentence, they've become a hypochondriac.
@@trialerrorsharer9398 no one knows when they're time is up, you could walk out tomorrow and get heart failure or struck by lightning then boom existence over, we will all lose everything when it happens 🤷🏻♂️
Me too. I wish people would understand that fakers are usually the minority and the majority are real people who need to be met with help and not scrutiny :(
contrary to redditors’ beliefs that the doctors note would never be written in that tone, I once had to advocate for my self in the ER of a hospital to get a referral to their orthopaedic division, and the ER doctor actually did call me “a very nice young lady who is desperate for help” 😂
I feel so bad for the people with all these life threatening diseases that have no known cure.. who even deserve's that- it's really sad, no- it's horrible
Tiktok is ruining our lives. I got rid of it almost exactly a year ago. It changed my life for the better. This is an awful symptom of tiktok, also gen z’s rapidly declining mental health and loss of reality
i used to know someone like her. it’s sad and very very mixed. i wasn’t sure if my said ‘friend’ was really suffering through the same thing i had. i feel for people that fell for these tricks she pulled and who believed her. update: said ‘friend’ made a tiktok account with the surname ‘Techno’ whereas their actual name is not. i cut off all connections with them and even explained to them and other close friends to them as to why i did what i did. if you are going through this, i recommend confronting them about it subtly with kindness. ty for reading
My little sister has Tourettes, and absolutely hates it when people go seeking attention. There's been a point where she was ticking so badly she struggled to breathe, It's really gross when people fake a disorder for views.
As a person with tics, I get “but you haven’t had any tics all day!” And I still have tics! Sometimes it’s worse, and sometimes it’s better, and it changes, i still have tics.
Same i feel you. One time a teacher was jumping down my throat, analyzing my tics because he never remembered me having them. He figured out how to trigger my tic, and bullied me for it I reported him, and he never got fired.
Huntington’s disease is a horrific way to go. I can see how discovering they were doomed to suffer so terribly would drive them right around the bend. She and her family have my compassion.
I will say, on one of my last medical records (broke my finger about a month ago), they have also said something along the lines of calling me a “pleasant” girl. She was a younger doctor, caucasian. Not saying shes totally telling the truth, but some doctors are very different with their language.
in medicine, pleasant on an official record describes a patient who is cooperative/nonviolent. just a way to distinguish between potentially uncooperative patients
I've suffered from vocal tics as a kid and somehow grew out of it and now I'm left with motor tics. It was extremely difficult and I still struggle. This girl sucks.
Don't assume stuff about her. It's her daughter. Ofcourse she's protective. Everyone should be protective of their children. Even their adult children.
I once had a boyfriend who had tourette's with voice tics that usually came in the form of bad words. It was horrible to him and he was very conscious about being around other people and being perceived as rude. It is something very difficult to deal with. What this person is doing is insensitive to say the least
Just a thought, in Ireland it's very common for professionals to use "pleasant young lady" as an indicator of their mental state / presentation at the time. (as opposed to someone who may be agressive / depressed). Could be used as a baseline so that they know if someone is "out of sorts" when they present to an appt. Not very often this kind of language is in a record handed to a patient though - its usually in communication that goes from colleague to colleague. Even at that, this is a patient record and i would struggle to believe they would give the information to a patient in that way. This doesnt look legit to me at all.
So….my kid has autism, her medical documentation of her diagnosis not only took me 4 years to officially get an answer, but a year each time we tried (3) to figure out what was going on till I got the diagnosis and then it took another month to get the official paperwork, and when I say paperwork, I’m talking like a book of paperwork for the diagnosis. I’m sure with Tourette’s they have an equally large amount of paperwork that goes with it as well. It would be a paper trail a mile long.
One thing that always baffled me about them is that if they really do have Huntington’s, why not post about that!? That is a much more serious disease and if she actually has it, along family members, why not advocate for Huntington’s? So confusing to me
My guess would be some combination of denial and the fact they’re not showing visible symptoms yet, coupled with the fact that there’s a massive tic community on TikTok, whereas there isn’t really one for Huntington’s.
even though i completely agree on the fact that people who do bad things should be held responsible for it and that having a mental ilness doesn't excuse everything, the "alleged mother" still had valid points to me, especially on the consequences that online witchhunts can have on the family (cause we all know that some people drag innocents relatives into it)
Alright, I do believe she isn't being truthful, but most of the things people were citing about the medical document as proof it was fake was completely incorrect. That doesn't mean that the report is real, but that these particular things don't indicate it's fake. 12:01 This is wrong. I've done transcription and worked in medical records and many of the doctors I worked with started reports with a comment like "The patient is a pleasant 34 year old woman." It may be less common in some regions compared to others, but where I'm at this is *very* common. I was reading chart notes from my own doctors visit a few weeks ago and it started with a similar sentiment. Regarding the logo on the chart notes: it depends on whether it's letterhead or if the entire page is printed at the same time. If this is letterhead they are printing on sometimes a place will use up leftover letterhead before using new letterhead. I've had this happen at 2 places I've worked, where we used up old preprinted envelopes and letterhead after there was a slight change. On certain important documents we did switch to the new letterhead right away, but on everything else we just used up the old stuff first.
Not defending her at all, but I have doctors letters which say: 'It was a pleasure to meet the pleasant young woman' which is a sort of polite and friendly way of starting the description of the appointment. In fact, I kept that because it was the only time I've ever been complimented on an official document
I remember seeing her videos and thinking Tourette's wasn't that bad, until I did more research and saw real people with real tourettes and it broke my heart
I met someone with what I think had tourette syndrome once. I was in a group with her and the first thing she did was tell us that she gets these goosebumps that acts like tics. She kept saying that, before diagnosed she wouldn't call it tourette syndrome. These were usually triggered when she was cold. She also apologised after each tic even though she couldn't control them. She would sometimes get extreme neck pains because of how her head moves around and once banged her head into a wall. I still have contact with her to this day.
I’ve had tourettes for a while now. When I was around 9 or 10, I thought I was going insane or being possessed when I was doing tics. I did research and found out. I was put on some kind of medication by my doctor and it kinda worked. My whole family gets annoyed by my tics when I can’t do anything about them.
My older siblings has tourettes, so I knew what was happening when I got tics. I have a very rare form of tourettes where I've had tics since I was very little [i think 5 or 6 ish] and mainly vocal tics which are rarer. My parents already knew how to handle it, luckily.
omfg the mother or even maybe not mother had proof same as the sister and even not they still had a point. Im not saying it was ok for the tiktoker to do that.
Apparently that nurse hasn't read as many medical records as they think they have. Doctors do that "very pleasant lady" stuff all the time. I had one recently that called a patient an "athlete." That patient was absolutely NOT an athlete in any way whatsoever. It was odd. He did it in every note, too. This patient is chronically ill and uses a walker. This sort of language usually comes from specialists. In this case, it would likely be a neurologist seeing a patient with Tourette's. They also will always say something like, "Thank you to Dr So and So for allowing me to consult on this patient." I find it odd because they *need* their consult. They aren't doing them a favor. There are some strange carryovers from olden times in medicine, I think.
I work as a medical scribe and the doctor I work with loves this term. Everyone is a “pleasant young lady” or a “pleasant young man.” Raging detoxing 31 year old dude to demented 91 year old lady, he dictates every note to me that it was his privilege to see this pleasant young patient 😂
I forgot what the disorder is called and I’m not a doctor too but after seeing this video... seems like she has a disorder where she fakes it to get attention which is also quite worrying... I wouldn’t say sad at all but she definitely needs to seek therapy.....
If someone really cared about awareness for a disease that they have and are confident about it they would not let being “bullied” stop them from spreading awareness it should make them work harder for the cause this just shows she realized people were catching on and that she should stop

Right
Maybe it’s easier to come out and say you have something much less serious than to talk about being young but having a fatal disease? It doesn’t excuse it but may help others to understand.
This was what first came to my mind so I looked around to see if someone else commented it too. It could be a very plausible situation considering the overlapping symptoms between both illnesses. While this does not exclude the behaviour whatsoever it does bring a more human perspective instead of just assuming it was done for the sake of it and clout.
They dont have huntingtons either
2 things.
1. People that fake disorders makes it even more harder for people who actually have it to be believed. Like I sadly met someone who said their own parents are saying they’re faking it.
2. Having one illness doesn’t give you the right to FAKE another. Just accept your own illness instead of trying to be someone else.
I mean on the other hand „just accepting” a fatal disease must be incredibly hard
@@purplepurina im sure they meant it more in the "accept the fact that you have only a certain one and Not every other illness"

I was just saying I have a letter from my doctor that describes me as a very please woman. I just thought it was because we got along well...lol. Dang
@@Renot911 I'm sure she thinks you're awesome, but in the context of medical records, it's pretty much cuz you're not punching, kicking, biting, or cursing out others in your life or the staff.

Hi. Love your vids!
Your Chanel is so great keep going 😊

whats a left eye tic? is it like jerking of the eye or making eye contact?
I don’t really know if you should ask that. But I’m not sure. But it’s really not trendy, my bsf’s sister had Tourettes along with him, and she and him would always get teased. His sister was the only thing helping him hold on, so when she committed, he couldn’t hold on and had to be watched at all times, only leaving the house with somebody. It disgusts me to see people faking this, it’s definitely not trendy like you said.
@@AlpineSunshine_ I'm pretty sure its jerking the eye
I had a lot of motor tics when I was younger, but they diminished (not entirely) as I got older. You learn to ignore it really, and I’d say it’s mostly due to lack of sleep mixed with stress that really brings them on. The better he can learn to just accept it will make things much easier. Said, but easier for him to change how he responds to it than to try and get others, especially kids, to change.
That must be a hard struggle for you son, and I agree with you people shouldn't mock a disorder that's genuinely can make life a struggle for people
Hypochondria or some type of histrionic personality disorder sounds most plausible.

Yea but at least they attacking someone actually guilty. Emerald is targeting innocent ppl or ppl with tourettes

Having such extreme tourettes as they claimed, they wouldn't have been allowed to drive.
i was coming here to say this
I have tourettes, granted not as bad as emerald (supposedly) did, but its still unlikely that I’ll be able to drive unless my motor tics greatly decrease/go away

Calling the person out and confronting them for faking such a disorder is something i can agree on but bullying and having violent comments regarding this person is extreme. We're in a era where we're looking for attention and validation on the internet. Either it is through your gender identity, mental health history, disorders in general or simply your body. If you go through ticks pretty much every day, wouldn't it stop being "cute" or "Funny" at some point?
My spouse has tics and they sometimes can still laugh at them but its normally just an annoyance for them
(as someone with tourettes) occasionally I do laugh at my tics if I’m with friends and it was natural comedic timing/is random enough to be funny, but with the majority of tics I just try to ignore them, as for me personally most aren’t very laughable
Why would a doctor discourage someone with a family history of Huntington Disease from getting tested? I have a lot of medical problems and from my experience, this seems like something a doctor would definitely want a patient to confirm.
maybe they dont want the information to seep into the family and make them heavily upset but who knows
@@trala8911 some people might want to know so they can avoid having bio children and potentially passing it down
@Kerokero Very good point.

So confusing to me
My guess would be some combination of denial and the fact they’re not showing visible symptoms yet, coupled with the fact that there’s a massive tic community on TikTok, whereas there isn’t really one for Huntington’s.

even though i completely agree on the fact that people who do bad things should be held responsible for it and that having a mental ilness doesn't excuse everything, the "alleged mother" still had valid points to me, especially on the consequences that online witchhunts can have on the family (cause we all know that some people drag innocents relatives into it)
Same here. I think the person has Munchausen syndrome, and I think the mum knows that and alludes to it without naming it
Alright, I do believe she isn't being truthful, but most of the things people were citing about the medical document as proof it was fake was completely incorrect.
Ive seem that in my chart. "Very pleasant 29 year old"
