For some reason every time i do the boss fight the dragon targets only the yuty i dont get it. I keep failing beta because of this reason then my tames die once my yuti dies
For a while, I thought dragon targets the dino with the highest drag weight, as I experienced something similar. But on this recent video that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone else had this?
Nice video, have been looking for a proper solo, there are so many solo 'cheese' videos, so really good to see the fight done properly. I have slightly more confidence in my Theri's now, just need to grind for the Ascendent saddles :)

Yeah, it was good fun. It was meant to be an attempt at 2 theris versus the dragon, but we bailed at the last minute and for some reason, we took them instead. Worth getting them ready for forest titan, assuming it will still have a low drag weight when Extinction is released (my favourite of the maps).
I think Theris are my new favourite boss fighters. My rexs have better base stats and saddles, but I doubt they'd survive against dragon without losing some. That may need testing...
That said, if I'm wrong, I still the tactic is viable. The main threat in this breath attack which is a flat 20%. The theris had enough cakes left, enough health and enough time that the boss could have been tougher and they'd still have come out on top.
Honestly, for facing the dragon. I'm going to face it off in normal difficulty and to do that. I just made a really powerful deinosuchus that was once leveled 231 to 309 that has strong health in strong attacks, but I am making a tarah army Should I send rhinos 2? Let me know, and i'm bringing in six dera's
Good work - would love to hear how that goes. Woldy (brother and tribemember) has bred an army of rhinos but we haven't yet used them. As herbivores, they can use the veggie cakes to heal in the fight, which is very useful. Not having tried it yet, I suspect that a small number of rhinos all ridden by players would work best to make the most of the charge attack. Taking a massive army of them may not work as they don't charge automatically. But that's just guesswork at the moment...

By the way, and as for the final boss in the Volcano I have Uber ten deinosuchus and powerful weapons, I have a powerful compound bow and a blueprint for a very powerful sniper rifles, that's 701 which is expensive to build
I’m surprised. I disabled “Enable Singleplayer Settings”, but I must have made a mess with my settings because it was way harder for me. My Theriz had about the same Health and more damage, everyone had 124 Armor, but I lost several of them each try I made, despite having cakes for the whole fight. I shouldn’t have messed with damage settings without knowing exactly how damage is calculated. I thought I was making bosses easier, but apparently I made them harder.
@@ZedsArkIt will be a long answer because I changed many damage related settings. I used Beacon Omni to manage the ini settings. 5x to the damage of Wild Creatures (DinoDamageMultiplier). In-game, the setting is called Creature Damage, and according to my testings it only affects wild ones. 0.4x Wild Melee Damage per level (this affects not only wild creatures, but also my tames, because they start with a much lower Melee Damage, and I think they gain less Melee Damage per level even after being tamed, as a consequence). 0.4x damage to the damage dealt by all bosses, and 0.6x to the damage dealt by all their minions. I guess this doesn’t affect the breathe of the Dragon boss, but the other settings shouldn’t either, because I read the breathe does damage based on a percentage of the total Health. 2.25x to the creature resistance multiplier (DinoResistanceMultiplier). According to Beacon, values higher than 1 increase the damage creatures take, and according to my testings only wild creatures are affected. This was meant to compensate for the 0.4x Wild per Level setting. 1.25x Imprinting Bonus. 0.2x Tamed Melee Damage per level. With official settings it would be 0.17x. I didn’t alter the Health settings. This results in my tames doing more than 40% higher damage than on Official, wild creatures (except bosses and their minions) doing a lot more damage. I was expecting bosses to be doing about 80% of their default damage. However, for some reason the Alpha Dragon was doing much more damage than it was doing against your Theriz (based on how fast mines got killed). I made the above changes with two objectives. Reducing the difficulty gap between creature in the overworld/caves and bosses. Making the Rhyniognatha do more damage with its Resin projectiles, simply because I liked them a lot but there wasn’t a way to affect their damage except for messing with the resistance of the wild creatures. I know I’m a little weird for messing with all those settings.
I forgot to mention I also reduced my character’s damage to compensate for the increased damage taken by creatures. I set it to 0.58x, which results in 1.3x compared to default. I also capped weapon damage to 500%.
That's making my head spin! Do you have damage numbers turned on? Would be interested to know how that compares to my vid. I suppose that there are also other variables in dragon fight. For example, sometimes dragon spends a lot more time in there and sometimes not. This impacts how many times you get hit with flame breath and how long your theris have to recover health. So, veggie cakes cannot outheal flamebreath if used constantly by a dragon that doesn't take off, as she uses the attack every 20ish seconds (I think!) when in combat, verses the 10% healing every 30 seconds from the cake.

Open its inventory and it has a slot for a hat. It protects the otter as if it were a saddle. I think this one needs a cowboy hat from the Scorched Earth DLC 😀
Question, is it possible without good saddles? Because my Adult Theris have 18k Health and 750 dmg ! Would you say i could defeat him after i lvled up my theris ? ^^
Are those fresh-from-the-egg stats? What saddles do you have? I'll shortly try my brother's theris against dragon with primitive saddles only... unless he hides them first.
Those theris will be awesome. I normally stick all my new dinos in the fridge for a week or so and that'll give them a decent amount of levels before the fight.
Why do you level hp on them? Only breath does a lot of dmg and that is % based. Also on my serv (small tribes offi) we just use two theris. One theri grabs the aggro and sits under it where the dragon cant hit it and the other comes behind it. It takes us 8 minutes as duo with 2k melee theris and we use about 2 cakes each for one boss fight. So basically, we duo it every time. We even duoed it in 15 minutes when it was invisible, but then we used about 12 cakes each (always bring 20 each for safety).
That sounds like a blast! I might give that tactic a try. How much health do you put in the theris for that? These theris are multi-purpose, so we've taken them into tek cave and I want to try them in other boss fights too.
@@ZedsArk They pop at 20k so we dont level them at all. But ive done it with one that popped at 8k or so. Dont use theris for tek cave btw, just clear the tunnel with one carcha and then use tek chest shotgun inside of the arena. Easy duo if you have capped shotguns.

I have at least 30k health and at least 1100 melee therizinos but saddles 25 armor. I have 124 armor bp but it's very expensive I can't produce 19 therizinos for 19 therizinos, I'm playing alone, my question to you is whether these therizinos will defeat the beta dragon with 5 cakes in each of them? i m play on official pve server
How happy are you with the risk? I don't know if it's possible. I suspect it would be, but haven't tried without saddles in mine. I reckon you'd need more cakes though. I can't remember how many they used in this video... was it 10 each roughly (some using more, some using less). With more health, yours could last longer, especially with more cake.
It’s wired I’ve done all the boss fights on my server but for some reason doesn’t show up on my implant at all. But overall very good video I’ve used rexes with 100k health each and around 1,000% melee and they work great too
That is weird. Normally, it seems to take a few days for it to register and appear on my implant. Sometimes it doesn't show up at all, but that's rare and we usually redo them as a tribe. Those are good rexes! Mine aren't that good, but I'm still tempted to try them in the dragon fight. Maybe after I've tried my megalosaurus.

That amount of health and melee takes some serious breeding. Mine are 20k and 1000% melee with only a couple of mutations, but with base stats of 50ish in - which I think makes them pretty decent unmutated. I used to do it with rexes in ASE, but to be honest, the two attempts I've recorded (theris and stegos) are so much easier. I'd probably just opt for stegosaurus if you've got the energy to craft the shells required - and have a decent shotty.
@@ZedsArk Aren't all otters unwilling participants to our shenanigans? The only reason mine come with me is that dying in action is a more noble death than starving to death back at base like so many of their brothers and sisters before them.
I think there's a lot of variability. I've used the same tactic before and been wiped out. Never got so unlucky as to have the dragon invisible, though.
Always run theriz for dragon, rexes always get killed, something about fire doing 20% of hp damage I think, my theriz are 30k hp and everything else went into Mel, I give all 10 cakes normally and I never lose any Dino's, always keep your Dino's on the move
I thought theris might be my new favourite boss fighter - and then I took a couple of stegosaurus and shotties into this fight with a pile of shells. It felt slightly slower but a lot easier than taking theris.
@@ZedsArk normally I rex spider and monkey, megath for spider and theriz dragon, there's another UA-camr called boomsmith who tests the bosses with all kinds of Dino's, it's a fun watch if you're interested in seeing
I'll check him out - thanks. Was thinking of taking other dinos against the bosses to see how they fair. Got some megalosaurus (and megaloceros) being bred, as a fully prepares set of rhinos to try out so far.
Nice! Good stats? I've got them all popping eggs out at the moment. Once I have enough, I'll hatch them all. Not looking forward to raising them so much now you can't use cryopods to reroll imprint needs. Will need a bit more prep than usual. Then I'll get them in the fridge for levelling. Thought it would be good to try against dragon but also ready for Aberration so I can hit Rockwell a bit sooner.

Its because the yuty has a "higher priority" of aggro from the boss than the theris. I assume it is because the theris are herbiviors.
I understood it was to do with drag weight, but I think there is a range applied to this as I've had mixed results in some fights.

Dragon isn't nerfed. It's always better to use theris rather than rexes or similar as carnivores take increased damage from bosses.

I don't think PvP or PvE settings would impact, but other server settings might. My server is SP settings, but that's it; no other boosted settings.

Whut I lost with the same stats and better saddles I reacted the same way to every attack how come i died and you were unscratched?

I didn't survive unscathed, only the veggie cakes healed through the damage.
official is wayyy different n harder than single player.

I've added a video using stegosaurus and shotties to kill dragon. We used about a thousand shells between the two of us.
You are fortunate in that is stayed down longer than it usually does.
It certainly makes for a quicker kill.

21k and 700%ish melee minimum - some have slightly higher as they've been levelled a bit more.
I did it with just theris and put like 35 cakes in each, most just used about 12/13 cakes

It's easier to maintain and I find more ascended flak than I do riot.

That amount of health and melee takes some serious breeding. Mine are 20k and 1000% melee with only a couple of mutations, but with base stats of 50ish in - which I think makes them pretty decent unmutated.
I used to do it with rexes in ASE, but to be honest, the two attempts I've recorded (theris and stegos) are so much easier.
I'd probably just opt for stegosaurus if you've got the energy to craft the shells required - and have a decent shotty.

My only advice would be don’t bring your otter in 🥺 poor guy lol. Also your paint on your flak gives the dragon a way higher chance of being invisible

@@ZedsArk Aren't all otters unwilling participants to our shenanigans? The only reason mine come with me is that dying in action is a more noble death than starving to death back at base like so many of their brothers and sisters before them.
I've never been able to beat Dragon by myself even with really good Theris.....with great saddles and yuti buff
I think there's a lot of variability. I've used the same tactic before and been wiped out. Never got so unlucky as to have the dragon invisible, though.

Always run theriz for dragon, rexes always get killed, something about fire doing 20% of hp damage I think, my theriz are 30k hp and everything else went into Mel, I give all 10 cakes normally and I never lose any Dino's, always keep your Dino's on the move
I thought theris might be my new favourite boss fighter - and then I took a couple of stegosaurus and shotties into this fight with a pile of shells. It felt slightly slower but a lot easier than taking theris.
@@ZedsArk normally I rex spider and monkey, megath for spider and theriz dragon, there's another UA-camr called boomsmith who tests the bosses with all kinds of Dino's, it's a fun watch if you're interested in seeing

Was thinking of taking other dinos against the bosses to see how they fair. Got some megalosaurus (and megaloceros) being bred, as a fully prepares set of rhinos to try out so far.

I've got them all popping eggs out at the moment. Once I have enough, I'll hatch them all. Not looking forward to raising them so much now you can't use cryopods to reroll imprint needs. Will need a bit more prep than usual.
Then I'll get them in the fridge for levelling.
Thought it would be good to try against dragon but also ready for Aberration so I can hit Rockwell a bit sooner.
Just did the alpha dragon with one Godzilla had to bring him in a ball wouldn’t fit on the portal dome haha took me 11 seconds once he landed
