- A fishing tournament can be a daunting event. We put so much pressure on ourselves to do well that we get flustered and become our own worst enemy. In addition to the pressure there's the newness of doing it for your first time. Gear to forget, batteries to die, equipment to fail and rods to leave at home. All this and you haven't even thrown the wrong bait yet! In this video we'll break down critical equipment needed to be successful in a kayak fishing tournament and some ways to set yourself up for success.

Pretty sure that light has to be on at all times until day light, not when just anchored
According to Alabama law and KBF, only when anchored.

I think you guys need a couple of short bungee cords to attach your Kayaks together while you’re doing these great videos!!!!

And make sure your flag/light pole is at the correct length of the state your in. Not sure yalls was high enough for Alabama fish and game regs lol. I think it's over 36" or maybe 48". In dark you have to have lights front and back on all vessels on public water. Green & red front and a clear on a pole rear. Always hated keep all those lights going and keeping up with regs lol.
Nav lights were required for motors. Headlamp was fine for early launch. Not sure on flag height, but ours are both over 36 in
@@aaanglers as far as I know of they didn't change it 30 mins before dark and after daylight all vessels on public waters in Alabama have to have lights like I mention. Even yaks, paddle boats and canoes lol. That's why most wait till after daylight to leave the launch. Daylight hours the flag is all that's required to be in use. And believe me if it's required in Alabama you better have it lol water patrol will be cruising by and just say oh look there's someone to bother 😂😂.

Live scooping is cheating! Half of fishing is finding the fish and if you take that out of the equation then it’s not really fishing. And it gives you an ridiculous advantage against those anglers who can’t afford a live scope. So it becomes a pay to win scenario. Definitely not a fair tournament.
