- It is no longer a global health emergency, but Covid-19 is still a threat.
That is according to the World Health Organization, which is now monitoring a new variant called EG.5.
It is not necessarily more dangerous than other variants, but it is spreading fast across several countries.
From the US to Japan and China, the strain appears to be highly transmissible.
So, is Covid-19 here to stay?
And with so many variants constantly emerging, will booster shots even make a difference?

BTW, once you get long covid, you’re in the group of people highly susceptible to covid complications. Lingering symptoms 1 out of every 10 infections. If you get reinfected over and over, it’s only a matter of time until they don’t care about you once you’re disabled.
Long covid patient here, and I can tell you talks like these are extremely depressing. People essentially don’t care whether you live or die so they can go eat out at restaurants.
Honestly, life has to go on. There’s NOTHING we can do to stop from dying whether it’s from this thing we call Covid or not. You may have to go back to scriptures & and read about how death & disease became a thing in the world. I want to support you, but I can’t if you think people are suppose to be at a pause in life because you may be scared or you may believe we live forever.
Long covid is all in the mind
Yeah, for many it conveniently gets rid of old people, which America isn't braced for because they pay caregivers unlivable wages. It's still 3 times deadlier than the flu and the 1% mortality is still a million people but people are so self centered, unless it effects them, they don't care. Communities couldn't even make efforts to not spread it, in fact made sure they did spread it and make it last so much longer than necessary.
Could be that Long Covid is a side effect of people that have been vaccineed !!!. Why aren't they informing the public about that. If you were Jabbed and the vaccine worked, then why are people suffering from this condition ... It could be the Vaccines right !!!.

I’m also 29 and have long covid and had no physical health issues before this. I used to work out 5-6 times a week. Them saying it’s like the flu when this infects some people 3x/year is such garbage. Long covid is a huge threat and there are no official approved treatment. They’re letting it run wild and a LOT of people will become disabled and by the time they start caring it’ll be too late. It’s already too late for us. I still encourage people to wear high quality masks and clean their air with an air purifier. It’s really horrible what we’re experiencing.

I am fascinated by the idea that we all carry immunity to many diseases that used to kill people. Not everyone of us is immune, and not every one of us survives returning diseases: look at measles and how common it is to see outbreaks here in the U.S. from international travelers who then unknowingly spread it around via unvaccinated people, killing some, deafening others. I haven't recently heard of anyone being made blind from measles, so that's good. But people getting reduced lung capacity from Covid? Yeah that's common, not wide-spread but I've heard enough folks here talk about having that problem.

Question. Why do people have to be so concerned about this? We are dying from other things besides “Covid.” We can stay as healthy as we try, but that doesn’t mean we will stay here forever. We need to learn to live with this & move on from it.
Because long covid is a risk after every infection. The flu and other infections don’t continuously reinfect people at this rate with such high rates of post-viral illness. I have long covid and I wasn’t able to walk in 2021. I don’t understand why people want to roll the dice with this. It’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced by far. Also this has 4x the death rate of the flu. I’ve never had shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, psychological symptoms, and took me 2 months to recover from acute virus from the flu it’s also much more contagious. I’m already living the nightmare that people claim to not care about. Once you’re disabled no one will help you, trust me.
