We really enjoy Captain Lucky and Pineapple. Both are Bi color and great flavors!

I have not grown most of those varieties, so this was interesting. I did just eat two Hawaiian Pineapples yesterday and today. I thought they were pretty good. Sweet and more fruity than I'm used to. Personally, I would not put it as my overall favorite, and I don't think I will get a lot of production from my one plant, but they are good tomatoes. I tend to really like black and purple tomatoes, so I did like Purple Reign a lot. I will have to try some of these!

I've not tried the Orange Wellington but after your review I will definitely add it to my list of potential tomatoes to grow for 2025! Dr. Wyche's is my favourite tomato from my 2024 garden (we've had a horrendously wet year) though I just had a Paul Robeson for breakfast this morning that was scrumptious. Thanks for these great videos!

If you love Dr. Wyche’s, you will really enjoy Orange Wellington as well. They are both excellent. We love Paul Robeson too and have grown it every year. This year we lost ours to herbicide drift but usually it takes top honors in flavor for us too. Thanks!

I love the these tests! I’ve watched a LOT of Jen Joy and now this channel on taste opinions.. as a baseline, do y’all enjoy typical Better Boy, Big Boy, Big Beef, etc type tomatoes? The average big box Burpee brands. That’s where I’m coming from and it’s hard to know how these compare to those. Thanks.

Thanks! That is a great question. We grow Big boy, Better Boy and Big Beef every year. They are solid producers for us. Big Beef is almost the industry standard of measurement where if you came up with a new tomato you might be asked if it was better than Big Beef. It grows well, produces consistently every year and it tastes good. The fruit is good quality not prone to cracking or cat facing or other problems. That complete package is hard to find. Are there meatier tomatoes? Yes, my Orange Wellington or Hungarian heart are meatier. Are there tomatoes with a better flavor? Yes, Brandywine and others have a more complex and interesting flavor, but it doesn’t preform consistently. I like the three you mentioned because they are good in all categories. A fresh from the garden Big Beef tomato tastes good!

@@iowabackyardfarmer2952 thank you so much for your opinion… I’ve made a fairly comprehensive list of “to order” tomato seeds. (Amd have already ordered around 3 dozen) (quite a few based on your video results) I have watched A LOT of your taste tests as well… It’s cool having your daughter on as well! Younger taste buds just hit different.. I have 3 young kids at home now, all girls, we adopted all three a few years ago.. seeing how these tomatoes come across to youth is a big help to me! Y’all are amazing! 🇺🇸🫡
