@@teenadamron7654 I've never had any issue growing the Dwarf Tomatoes.. I water them pretty regularly, and plant in a sunny location. Since they're smaller and ready sooner, much easier than the larger tomatoes.
My favorite red tomato is "BuffaloSteak" BY FAR! However, it is sooo prone to v. wilt from seed starting to all the way through its life. I am reluctantly trying other big reds or pinks, and you've given me more to try. Thank you for this!
These videos are great! I've grown Brandy Boy for a few years, and I agree it is a really good tomato. I tried Big Beef Plus this year and it was a good yielder, but they have somewhat large seed cavities with quite a bit of gel. I've had a fair amount of bug damage on those tomatoes, more than any other variety. I had Pink Delicious last year, but decided that Brandy Boy was better overall, although Pink Delicious was also good. I might have to try Big Brandy sometime. Thanks for sharing your taste tests!
Brandywine needs all the help it can get with fruit size and productivity and they dont tolerate heat at all so Ill probably stick to hybrids if I could find one with thin skin that would be perfect.
@@BlackJesus8463 I prefer my True Black Brandywine but yeah they are not the most productive.Im raising 14 Black Krim and 5 other slicers and probably my last season will be just Black Krim as they are a early slicer and for me in 6a Mid Ohio productive until frost ends the season and I'm 73 so I've been studying on just what do I want when cutting back my garden in my near future plans.
Love the way you review. Watched your other video on bicolors/ non reds and I probably watched the same video that recommended Virginia sweets and black pineapple with promise of that kick you in the face flavor and having grown it I feel meh about it. Looks like I should look into some brandywines
Both of those are really really good tomatoes. If I ever get something that’s just meh but I know other people are really enthusiastic about I’ll always give it a second chance. If possible source seeds from a different purveyor.
@@kime.7285 Weather can also be a huge factor. We had a ton of wildfire smoke and cool weather last year, and all of my larger tomato varieties were mediocre. At least four were favorite varieties I've grown for several years, so I know they weren't what they should be, so I didn't judge the new ones.
Those 2 are a must grow every year and we're my favorite until this year but discovered a couple new ones that may become my favorites Sandburgh green, Chocolate stripes and Rebel Starfighter Kayleigh Anne, I grew 54 different varieties this several I haven't tried so we shall see need to try a couple times for each varieties from different tomatoes before I officially decide lol.
Let’s NOT be nice, let’s be honest. Love y’all’s videos but it’s okay to say something isn’t good. I grow so many different varieties & I’m always throughly disappointed with the duds. It’s really nice to be able to trust another gardener’s recommendations and it’s really nice to grow what other people are enthusiastic about.
Should be tested on a burger is my opinion. I've tried MI I Gardener great prices and germanaton fair. But believe he over sales himself as far as not being about saleing his produce.and his gardening method isn't for my claybase soil needs. I've had the red Brandywine but definitely the True Black Brandywine is my favorite tomato slicers for my sandwich needs.. I don't judge that juice that flows as they are cut that runs onto the plate but to me the juice that holds into the tomato until they get bitten in my mouth that Black Brandywine does seem juicer as I'm biting into it and don't get so messy running down my arms but holds until bitten in my mouth. True Black Brandywine my choice slicers Midnight Snack chioe salad/snacking needs Thourburg Terracotta my favorite in a salad I had Big Brandy and we didn't like it.
Great video
Rosella Purple and Adelaide Festival are good Dwarf Tomato varieties that produce some excellent tasting tomatoes on 4 foot plants.
These never grow for me😭 What is your secret??

Thanks for this, it was interesting! I wonder if grafting Brandywine onto a vigorous rootstock might in read it vigour!?
I like Red Brandywine even better than pink Brandywine but both are very good, I typically prefer pink over red except in this case

Everyone loves Virginia Sweets.

If you ever get the chance to try Dr. Wyche’s yellow, Big Rainbow and Pineapple (just the regular yellow/pink bicolor). They are all wonderful.

Clarity is kindness!
1 Brandywine = any number of any other tomatoes

Love your videos but today was quite annoying with you speaking over one another and your dog barking. Stopped watching part way through.
