I don’t understand why so many people hate on James Labrie all the time. His voice is unique and fits the band perfectly. He sang really well this concert. He has his own way of singing and that should be appreciated.

The thumbnail is perfect for this song. Like, when I first heard the intro on the record when I bought it in 2019, this thumbnail is what I saw in my head.
There is no Dream Theater without John Petrucci. Simple as. Anyone else in the band is pretty much replaceable. Not Petrucci. Who has the technical ability as well as songwriting ability at that level? Can't think of anyone. Closest might be Michael Romeo

Petrucci has more melody and soul in his little finger than most guitarists have in their entire body! His phrasing and composition continues to blow my mind and he has created some of the most beautiful solos EVER! I don’t say that lightly
It takes 10 years for DT to find Jimmy T Meslin to make Mike Mangini sounds right on the record and live. Too bad Mike Mangini had those hate critics because previous albums sucked big time. Its not him... its the producer and sound engineer.
In great honesty, it´s also him compared to Portnoy´s dynamics. But just to stop a possible discussion upfront, he´s also a great drummer, it´s just my personal taste.

I hope this one of those love DVDs where James is just having an off day and sounds great again in the next one like Chaos in Motion, he sounded great again in Luna Park and Breaking The Fourth Wall. Everyone else is obviously amazing and, I think, I'm starting to appreciate Mangini's drumming more than Portnoy's these days. PS : He still sounds way better than he did on Chaos in Motion though, it's like he's good in the most pivotal moments of a song now and shows restrain during the other parts to conserve his voice, maybe.
Newer to DT, and every time I want to watch the live version to SEE the nasty guitar solo I just heard, it ends up being Jordan ripping it on the keys!
When he whips out the keytar as well, all the musicians are top notch, even if LaBrie's voice isn't what it once was they're still one of the best bands out there.

There is a renewed vibe with Mike Mangini in the band. I think that Portnoy was unhappy working for the music industry and it effected the quality of his performances and the overall performance of the band. They were a family but sometimes powers outside of your control cause problems. It is obvious when you hear this band today compared with the last album they did with Portnoy.
U know guys, in my opinion, bothside the label producer n DT team it self has the same direction in DT's future, when they made audition to brought Mangini part of their family, they want equality skills of each personel, as they All Masters in Music, nich to have Mangini inside DT
