So many people pushed me to forgive *him* in order to heal, but I don't and could never forgive him. I needed to have compassion for that girl I was at the time in order to heal, and that took time. 💗
Even if you’re not able to get someone convicted, the feeling of finally being able to tell everyone “hey this is what HE did to me” and not caring who finds out is amazing and so healing. I like you showing the different sides of surviving a sexual assault. It’s not always sadness and depression sometimes it’s pure anger and hatred at that person for what they did.
For the last 4 years I struggled to get my head around this...now after surviving giving evidence in front of strangers in a crown court room only for there to be not enough evidence I see this .
Being able to tell our story, recall the nightmare of things he or she did to us we are the stronger ones...we survived. X

i will never forgive them and this hasnt stopped me from truly healing, if anything the anger helped me push through everything
Even tho some people didn't believe me, this song helped me speak out and let everyone know what happened. I'm grateful for this song because I didn't feel alone even when everyone made me feel that way
No one talks about how to leave the angry stage when you finally get there though. I’ve been stuck in this stage since they finally admitted what they did after years of gaslighting it like it never happened.. I fear I will be looking to shred them in my mind for the rest of my life and in a way, that means they’re still winning. What a cycle. A nightmare of a lifetime fearing touch from others due to some jerks isn’t fair at all.

This song came to me on Spotify and I’m so much better because of it , I wrote about my assault and I informed those involved that I would press charges if they ever move back anywhere near me and I wrote about my experience and I feel so much lighter in my soul.. it doesn’t hit you immediately every time it took me over 8 years to realize and remember my assault because I was date raped and I assumed since I knew my attacker it was consensual and now that most of that night came back I recall ,it was not and that made me terrified for weeks and sad and isolated from everyone I know and paranoid, it feels good to know you’re alone in wanting to talk about it.
