Does anyone else watch these and try to imagine what archaeologists in 500 yrs time will make of our leftovers? History is fascinating and stirs my imagination in every direction; past and future
Guy says stuff like that all the time... Nothing worst than a bunch of smug, self righteous archaeologists, going, 'Oh look at that. Weren't they stupid? Aren't we great? And in 200 years, archaeologists will record trenches in 3D, holographic technology, and they'll say, "Oh look at that. Weren't they stupid? Aren't we great?". It's like his ethos
Well..... that was a bit of a struggle to start but everyone kept digging (pun intended) and you got some good results! Working the river was a bit of a struggle but with perseverance and hard work paid off in the end! That was fun watching... good job all! Have a good day!
There's often a little bit of manufactured drama on this show, but that dendro was just a bit of an arrogant jerk. He didn't need to give a date he didn't have, but when Tony went back to him, he was such an ass about it.
I absolutely love ancient construction and engineering. If I could go back in time or in the future I’d think I’d choose the early Roman days or watch them build the ancient pyramids
Man...... I love Time Team. I wish we had something like that here in America. I know they did a special over here a long time ago, but I can't even remember what or where they investigated. I'd love to see them investigate the old ruins that may have some kind of Templar connection. I can't even remember if it's located in America or Canada, but I do know that it's somewhere North NorthEastern in North America. Then, it'd be the ultimate special if they went to Oak Island and poked around all over the place because that island is quite the conundrum that has been giving up some of it's secrets that ultimately just lead to a whole crap ton of more questions.
@@rafaelfockaert9812 He had a date he just "didn't believe it" that is not science, that is his own confirmation bias in operation, he didn't want it to be that early so he wasn't willing to accept the evidence right in front of him he was wrong.
If you play video games. The game Assassin's Creed Origins placed around 40ish AD shows so many of the, almost exact building and structures they have found on Time Team The 3d modeling they do looks like it could be used in video games... But game graphics are even better... Sure its in Egypt, but the Romans are the bad guys who still controlled a lot of it.
a length of bank with bridge, buildings and a shrine was washed out & collapsed into the river hence all the trinkets & pottery changing rivers coarse favoring far bank & neccessitating another bigger bridge.
Stewart is a smart guy and I almost always agree with him, but calling the Roman army a field army just completely ignores the fact that the Roman army was constant building camps and forts and fighting to defend them as well, that field army logic is a flawed generalization.
this episode aired at an earlier date. i know because i watched it like a week ago. stop freebooting content that belongs to someone else. the description doesnt even tell you who owns this content. Time Team owns this content and should be part of the description despite giving credit in the video itself.
Uhh they are a licensed broadcaster of Time Team, they aren't using someone elses content without permission, and if someone can't understand that this program is Time Team they need some help in their comprehension skills.

I always think of Tony as Baldrick, but I know he's done so much more for us history nerds. Also: Protect Phil At All Cost!!

The biggest discovery on this dig was that Phil doesn't wear his hat while snorkeling......LOL!!!
I can’t hide how much I like these uploads even though I know it will be turned into a marketing price… 😊😢🤭
Thank You :) 🔥🔥🔥
Top Shelf Nerd Stuff, thanks a lot!
Are all dendrochronologists that sassy?
they should not give a date when they don't have one
I know, right?😏
😜😅
Kind of a prick, isn't he?

There was that moment at the end of the Intro where he actually turned into Baldrick for a sec.

There may be an as yet undiscovered bridge.
I partially blame the shortness of the trenches for the uncertainties regarding the roads! Don’t be stingy, spring for longer trenches! 😊

I dunoo why but im sad they cut the wood anyone else ?
I really like history and want everyone preserved lol
Nowadays no need of diver to search under water. It is time consuming. It can be done with camera in short time
I restore, collect and sell ancient Roman coins
Yeah, and...? I thought commercial messages were banned.
I have a cunning plan

The last excavation of "Prick the Dig". Glad to see him gone too. "I don't believe it" is NOT good science...
Was that mick the twig? If so his attitude was well off
Mick the Dig aka the Twig was much nicer when he still had the long hair and beard.
Wow you guys stole offerings to the gods? That’s cold.

Isn't odyssey a hosting platform like Netflix but with a historical themed collection?
