WTF is up with these negative comments? Kenny Vaughan is a tremendous guitar player and he absolutely kills it in this video.
One guitar, one bass, one drum, and a boatload of talent. Great job.
Mr. Vaughan is now my most favorist guitar player. He good!
Love cousin Kenny ,when I hear Kenny play it's like he's raising a joyful noise to the Lord ❤
Only Kenny could pull off Chicken Pickiin’ meets Link Wray! 😵💫 He always sounds great!
First I've seen Kenny Vaughan with an SG. Very cool! Brings out a Link Wray kind of look. Wonderful guitar player indeed!
Excellent band! Kenny always gives you the meat and potatoes of the song and leaves out all the BS notes. I saw Kenny when he first came to Nashville, and I knew then he would be a guy to keep your eye on. Taste and tone from Kenny know matter what guitar he plays. That tone comes from his hands and soul!
One way to shut down these negative nancies..let's see you put a guitar in your hands and let us see what you bring to the table...put or shut up...this man is by far one of the greatest guitar players I ve ever heard..I've watched him perform on television many many times..I would rank him among the top 10 players in the music industry...so yeah, he can play..
The man can flat out play!!!!
OMG. Kenny is playing an SG. Love it.
Absolutely love this. Kenny is the bomb. Solid on all 3 of them.
This is grand and hints of Robin Trower, love this cat called Kenny Vaughan!
Very Strat Marshall sounding would love to know what amp he used but the half cocked wah sound just steal the show.
I told him the same thing two nights ago! He said he loves RT.
Feel, baby, what feel. It’s a groove
This guy, can play anything. I wish the world would find out what they usually do about people like this guy - he's the best there is.
He needs a real singer. He's potentially Elvis big. What does he need to get there? How can it happen? Me. Period. Just for the hell of it, reply to me MR Vaughan. Jam with me. Experience me like I know you.
Outstanding musicianship and camera work too!
Awesome musicians! Great jam!
Kenny Vaughan, I love the man !
oggi ho scoperto Kenny Vaughan... mi piace proprio🤩🤩🤩🤟
See just how good a guitar sounds without all the toys in between the amp and guitar, course it helps when the guy playing is a master , i would have loved to hear kenny and the late Roy Buchannon play this cool jam together. Kenny is just to good and his scence of pure tone is just awsome. What an inspirational player...
I'd like to see him with Eric Johnson. Two guys who know tone!
Awesome groove! Great electric performer.
Great to see him making magic with an SG
i've never seen him play an sg before, cool
He can even make a GIBSON sound Great!!!
Kenny is so good.
KV with an SG. What a sight. What a sound.
Cousin Kenny's range is beyond most.
This is a new discovery for me. Love it!
Kenny freakin Vaughan
FANTASTIC SOUND
U bet ! You Rock Kenny!
Great playing. Cool dude. Kenny is my fav.
Watching you for a while now Kenny and I rank ( course who I'm I ) up there with SRV
Great performance Kenny and your Band.
Kenny's the best!!!
@dougtheslug2012 are you watching the same video as the rest of us? Kenny plays-in the rhythm to set the tempo at the very beginning and then goes guitar-god bananas the rest of the song. He's one of the best out there...make sure and watch the whole video before u make silly/stupid comments.
These guys can cook, Amen
Kenny is one guitar slinger.
Love this
Brilliant!
This is way cool, as cool as cool can be!
Hell they’re talkin about - Kenny is the real deal
What a fun song :) Heh, loved it :)
Kenny on SG, pretty rare :))))
The Best.
Kenny is the fucking man
Great Guitar player
Smooth as a late night bourbon.. with a good finish. Nice
hell yeah
Kenny is his normal, superb self here but the drummer is catching my attention tonight.
I agree. There is a drummer that I think is in a lot of the Kenny Vaughn Trio videos, and he's great, but he's not like this guy. I think this guy is more of a pocket drummer than the trio guy, and is tight without getting boring after a while.
godlike
I looked up king of cool, it said check out Kenny Vaughn jamin 3 pc!
Nice one, Kenny. Hope you are well.
Superb... guitarist
makes me wanna play......
must share
SG soundin mighty fine
Tight.
Kenny is at about 60% ,on this ,just taking it easy,I think .,still really good.
channeling Link Wray
HIS GOOD
Kenny is one bad motha
He can make an SG sound as good as anyone, love that tone. I bet you he doesn’t have a string of pedals to get that sound either.
Baby daddy.
*"Ma! Cousin Kenny's spankin' his plank agin!"*
bad ass
Tone !!!
Tone was off the chain, can’t tell if the amp was deluxe or other
He’s killer
cool
I never felt so tempted to buy an SG. I would bet that it is a vintage one though. To buy and affordable one and get it to sound that good you would probably need Duncan antiquity or Throbak pickups and paper caps.
You underestimate these guitars, New are not as good as old as wood changes over time . I own a 74 which may be considered vintage i don't know but i have done nothing to the guitar but a few switch changes, As a stock SG Standard in a Walnut finish iv'e owned the guitar since 78. It sounds as good as Kenny's & the first thing i will admit i play well but i not Kenny. Not sure what his setup here is but it seems fairly straight up . He just that good to draw these tones & he can do it on any axe. Be it hard rock or mellow instrumentals as haunting as this these guitars will do the job. It's your set up & feel . I play my own stuff for the most part & do instrumentals though i'm currently in a band. I would share this composition even though the leads are from my 72 Les Paul Custom & the rhythm is done on the SG. It may not be your cup of tea but it's fine sound from both guitars . I can play clean & get a warm tone depending on my amp settings but i rarely use many toys in between , I love guitar & amp on their own but as a rock player ya gotta have some fuzz or overdrive. My point is you don't need all that to get a clean tone or a gritty rock tone like Kenny . Just the guitar & some feel. ua-cam.com/video/RHj04fFTrZI/v-deo.html
He can stand on a dime
LOOKS A LIKE A MODERN BUDDY HOLLY AND WHAT BUDDY MIGHT BE SOUNDING IF HE WAS ALIVE..JUST SAYING.DENIEL EDWARDS/GUITARIST.
ooo-wee
:)
Can anyone tell me where this song originates. I can remember hearing it but can't figure out who did it.
yo
K. VAUGHAN TONEMEISTER
I might just take that one out for another spin...
@dougtheslug2012 how/why did you even end u watching this video? and then feel the need to comment? Doesn't even really make sense to make any negative comments on here, but especially ones that are way off base.
At ~ 2:10, he goe3s from bRK bRK bRK brk ...... cHICKEN... DOES IT 2X AND THEN JUST WRAPS FUNKYB BLUES ALL MONGST YA!!!
Chicken picking on a sg ,yea
Put on some sunglasses and he could be Link Wray
This is not country music and Kenny is a great country star? How is that ?
Dont understand the concept of repetition? Sounds like the mind of an 8 year old.
is it just me, or does Kenny LOOK like Link Wray in this video.
I’ve always thought he looks like the good mythical morning guy lol
Is there anything Kenny can't play.....No
What is that thing he’s playing
Gibson SG - only Gibson's best selling model of all time!
Needs a Strat "Trower" guitar sound rather than the SG, otherwise great.
Get the f outta here with that nonsense bs...
Makes me laugh to hear you tube commenters judge and criticize legendary players on "what they should've done" that would've made it better. He plays a tele %80 of the time & is the single MOST respected player in Nashville but he plays an SG on one song ... how dare he
I don't understand all the comment about Vaughan playing an SG. It's a vintage Gibson, likely with PAFs, that sounds fabulous, so what's the issue? Is there a panel somewhere that supposed to approve the guitar you're playing? In the end, it's all in the fingers anyway.
SG is my least favorite sounding guitar. Unless Angus Young is playing it.
Brilliant!
