'16 Ford Expedition Driver Window Regulator
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 бер 2024
- In this video I swap out the power window regulator on this customers 2016 Ford Expedition. First time doing one of these myself so there was a small learning curve. Most of which could have been avoided by reading service data haha.
-Enjoy!

"We didn't have time-out growing up. We had time's up..." So true lmao.
That's a T-shirt....
And there were no sitting in the corner. There was the board of education to the seat of understanding.
It’s always better when you say it. 😂😂😂
I'm 75. Retired 15 years ago, but still wrenching for friends and family. The spasms in your arm are likely a nerve pinch in your shoulder due to bursitis. Heat, and topical pain relief helps especially BEFORE starting work in a cold shop. Oldage, and mileage are prime factors. 😊 Thanks for your channel. jimandnena
Oh how I know. 70. Retired for 8. Still working friends/family. Have all kinds of treatments for aches and pains. Life goes on.
Retired for two years. Everyone buys new cars and they don't need me. Mostly anyway.
Medical advice on SMA, no warranty of course, expressed or implied 👌
@@billupstateny9151I have guys asking medical advice on all of my groups... From obviously non- medical members.
Thanks Doc 😅
This is the only good thing about having a cell phone that takes pictures and videos, remembering where the hell everything gets routed!😵💫😵💫
I just had the battery die, and the pictures were not available. The replacement battery made thigs worse so even plugged in it wouldn't turn on.
Of course trash day took away the old battery before I found out.
@@robertsmith2956you threw away the battery before testing your phone works? That's karma for throwing it in the trash. Next time, return your pants you were wearing to the store 😅
@@vadim7590 No, the phone worked fine for 3 days. Each day lasting longer on the battery. The 4th day when garbage was picked up it went reboot like an old apple phone. Old battery was a nice balloon.
Pictures and GPS
This is your funniest video
Cervical Radiculitis. A nerve in your neck is being pinched by a bulging disc, arthritis, etc… it’s from heavy lifting, twisting, turning in strange positions under the hood or dashboard or under a gas tank etc… Advil along with Tylenol and rest , maybe a topical muscle massage. If it is happening quite often, a visit to your Doctor where a physical exam with C-spine Xray, CT and MRI will give you the diagnosis quickly. 41 years as a Radiologic Technologist with 34 years of MRI experience here. Be careful, you don’t mess with symptoms like this.!! Thanks for the great video. How I hate taking off door panels and changing window regulators!!
Priceless monologue.
“For the mechanic with the on-the-go lifestyle . . . “ 😂😂
"We didn't have time outs, we had time's up", cracked me right up!
First…My grown kids got me one of those 1/4”drive tool kits with the clip for the mobile mechanic on the go. Love it, and I’m retired.
We never had time out either, just the swish of air as a piece of leather travelled at the speed of sound.
Nice job Mr O. and yes, Mrs O is the highlight of the video
That is the cleanest I've seen a door insulation panel come off in my entire You tube life.
My last window motor replacement required drilling a hole in the inside metal panel to get to the 3rd bolt. Ford thoughtfully left a dimple in the metal to show where to drill. 97 Explorer @ 150K miles.
“Front hole, This Hole … A hole”
Oscar nod for best Script …
No doubt!
You catch the intro?
😂
Don't mess with my jive.
@@Torsee that was a very interesting intro. Some missed it
You have lots to look forward to, Eric. I’m 77 and now what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work.
LOL....'he got it up, then he got the window up'
That was a great line, tried to slide past the viewers.
Seeing Eric clean the glass brought a smile. I had a radiator let go spraying coolant all over my windshield. Towed to GM dealer who replaced the radiator and put it back in the parking lot ready for customer pick up-windshield still covered in coolant.
Eric because it's a doorman regulator ...you...will probably be the person who takes that door apart next time😁
Yeah.....maybe tomorrow. 😁
Today I put a zip tie on my RV and I made that torque wrench noise without even thinking about it. Thanks Eric O. Now my zip tie's are torqued to spec......
Eric O finally got it to go up and down on command for the fella. That folks is why he’s called Dr. O
It's a good day when it goes up and down on command
no wonder i pay my mechanic top dollar, the things they have to go through just for our beloved cars ;) and i love this channel, and ive been a subscriber for ages and this is still the best by far..... the comedy while he's working is gold....
*sigh* I'm old enough to remember when Dorman *wasn't* crap. 😢
Same
Doorman really went out the door.
*Ba da, tis*
You're killing me with all the vids this morning. No intermission to take a leak lol.
Love how you got all of those non critical parts properly torqued to factory spec......
"I don't know about a window regulator, but we have the thing that makes the window go up and down."
Autozone parts counter guy.
True story.
The "keyhole.... Keyholio" had me. 🤣
Small tools on a clip for the mechanic with the `on the go lifestyle'. Priceless.
I sometimes feel I'm all alone in the world, then I see you struggle too. I feel so much better now.
Misery really does love company
For the mechanic with the on-the-go lifestyle.
I love that. I love that every time. And i've stolen it.
I have never seen door goo come off clean like that - EVER! Class act cleaning the window when done!
I just finished shaving sat down and started watching UA-cam videos. one of the most entertaining videos I've seen in a long time. when it finally ended went to the bathroom looked in a mirror my beard grew back
Came for the sense of humor and left with a lesson in physics: "friction makes heat". Damn, you ought to charge for this stuff! Thanks, as always you make great content!
Gave us the shocker again. Good video, always love the extra vocabulary that you put into the videos
About a decade ago I used polyurethane glass adhesive to reattach the plastic window tabs to the front passenger window on a 2006 Sienna. Still driving it in 2024 (396,000 kms) and the window remains connected. I live in Ontario, Canada so no gentle weather conditions either. It worked for me and would suggest it's worth a try before buying a new window.
Did I already mention in the past 10 years that i've been watching your video's that I really like your sense of humor Eric?
The guy said he got it up and he got the window up also, lmao. Your videos are great but your commentary is priceless.
That is exactly how I expected a Ford window regulator install to go.
Nearly 55 minutes for a window regulator and it took me all day to watch it between interruptions! ;) That's a lot more complicated than it oughta be, but it had the right guy doin' it so it all works out!
A few years ago the rear window on my 2011 BMW 328 fell down a few inches and wouldn't roll back up right before I was about to move and drive from Colorado to the east coast. Bought a windshield phone mount and suctioned it on the window such that it kept pressure on the top of the door panel to hold it up and closed until I got where I was going. Once I got there I ordered a new regulator and was able to switch it out in about 20-30 minutes, 10 of which were spent just getting the glass to seat into the clips correctly.
Surprises me that I was able to do it in half the time of Mr. O, on a BMW, not being a mechanic.
Not gonna lie. I find some joy in the fact that I’m guessing off camera you cuss at cars as much as the rest of us 😂😂 I know I can’t help it sometimes 😂
Yes, He let it slip by a time or 2
i dont think there's an auto shop on the face of the earth where effenheimers arent a regular part of the vocabulary.
Hey Eric! I'm retired and 65. I started feeling aches around 50.
Just keep doing what you love and loving what you do. Thanks
always enjoy your videos. Informative and sometimes humorous. He got it up, then he got the window up.😁
Thanks for the great content, you two. We enjoy the repartee between Eric and Mrs. O!
Taking a picture has saved me on more than one occasion. Good piece of advice no matter what level diyer you are.
I bet there's a lot of demand to be the guy that assembles door regulators on the assembly line! That drivers window will probably never be that clean ever again. Great job!!!
So, there's a tee-shirt: "When I was growing up, we didn't have time-out, we had times-up".
Thank you, Eric for the video really educational. It looks like it went well Thank you again
Too smooth, too cool, another masterpiece, mrs O give's him a thumbs up atta boy.
GM had "pull up" door panels many years ago on the GMT800 trucks. One thing i loved about my 04 suburbans.
Im loving all these videos 🙂
LOL! My suction cups on a cable got so tired that now I just stick them to the bottom of the window and use them as wedges. XD
VERY GOOD one liner , Love the automatic running boards when they pop out and get stuck, 👌
Been awhile since we’ve seen the “on the go lifestyle” kit. I have not had an on the go lifestyle since the early ‘90’s but I might buy one anyway because it’s kinda cool. PITA job but your commentary was the best ever. All the best to you and yours.
Nice work Eric, you are a great person…love your videos…
Mrs. O, the highlight of the video!
Love teh video's-just good old fashioned common sense and knowledge--doing stuff the right way!
Keep up the good work Mrs. O, messes him up every time.😂🤣🤙
As far as the arm goes---- welcome to old age!😊
Sometimes with pinched nerves -- you can try stretching routines to "loosen" that area up. I can tell you from experience-- getting old sucks! But it still beats the alternative!😊
Good job Eric, you do the whole pacage not a part of a car you aren't able to fix! And you always do your best to put it back the way it was.
Mr O good video I needed a laugh this morning. Thanks
When my window regulator broke I thought someone shot my truck! It was a super loud bang!!! Super simple to replace the regulator.
Thanks for the video Mr & Mrs. O.
I love those wera kits, I work as an industrial mechanic and they're great when you're crawling all over a factory
I learn so much from your videos. Physics lesson of the day “Friction makes heat.” Who knew? 😀 I’ve been burnt by that myself!
This is your funniest video. Mrs. O brings out the comedian
It's the entire kit as well as the caboodle! 😮
I used a Dorman regulator on a rear window of my Buick. It was rarely used and only lasted 10 months and suddenly failed on a cold winter morning when the window went down by itself while on the freeway! That was a freezing surprise.
Do I feel a new Channel coming on??? Eric & Vanessa's Literary Corner - brought to by the word of the day! Gee-Willikers!!!
You will never know how much joy I get from watching you do anything. I think the commentary has a lot to do with it 😅 thank you for sharing your thoughts and knowledge and time.
Hi Mrs O. Thanks Mr O
Eric
Growing up I worked in my Grandfather's garage. My Dad and uncle worked there, so I would get into trouble because I would forget which tool box I got something out of. So most days one of the three would jump my butt for something. So I know your pain because my son's would do it to me. I think it get passed down from one generations to the next.
Such small torque wrenches. But I heard the click-click. Amazing tool assortment you have.
I hope your shoulder/pinched nerve gets better soon. I haf something similar in my left foot/ankle. Took 6 months to cut that crap out. Like I got my foot caught in an electric fence.
You sure dropped a ton of videos. Like someone mentioned, I needed a bathroom break.
Cheers Mr. O. Thanks for bringing us along!! Great video.
E-Man, I watched this whole video and the best part was the last 6 minutes with Mrs O! 😎
I really thought you was gonna loose it Eric I've seen ya in the past but not this bad.. good on you for in keeping your cool your a great mechanic! 😎😎
Respect to you and Mrs O. You guys warm my heart :-)
Wow window cleaning service. Nice
I was hoping this was going to be like an Edge (remove regulator with outside door handle and latch)way to go Ford! Always great video.
Often you mention that your videos may not be all that interesting or boring; simply l learn something out of each one and the pure joy of watching the Chevy Whisperer of the North!! 😅😂 (I’ll gladly up vote more Hondoo videos in a heartbeat!).
MRS is definitely the main reason I watch.
I hope you get a lot of money for dealing with a mess like this Eric. What a PITA.
Welcome to my life. I know the pain your going through. I have it 24/7 with my disability. Hang in there love your content.😅
Thanks for another great learning experience.
Now that’s a real man window regulator 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Another great job and commentary job well done🍸🤗
Thank you SMA
way back in the day..... J.C. Whitney. could not wait for it to come in the mail!
I spent about 25 years doing auto glass replacement starting 1976. I feel your pain!🤣
nice fix mister
Thank you mr O👌God Bless
It's nice to know I'm in good company with my pains, burns and cuts. Thanks for all your good work.
Those window regulators are fun, fun, fun!! Not hard, but time consuming.
Goes up pretty good now even though it is cold.
My son left some of my tools out in the yard and the next time he wanted a tool they were locked up. He got to use them but with fair warning, don’t let it happen again 😊
innuendo at 0:20... like button smashed at 0:21 LOL Thanks for the video Erk. :)
"I don't work on many Fords" as I watch the 1,000th video of Eric working on a Ford. 😁😁🤣🤣
Hello to Mrs O... She is crazy about you... Nicely done... =)
Glad to see the problems I have with these (as a home wrench) are fairly universal. As I was watching I was thinking the only difference with a pro is there is no blood. Then there was blood.
Nice ! Monday video to start the week off right!
Luv me sum SMA video❤
Some years ago, I had that zap feeling in my forearm. It turned out to be a pinched nerve in my spine. Eventually I couldn’t open my pinky, ring finger and index fingers. Had to have spine surgery to remove the bone spur inside the vertebrae. Took about a year to get motion back in those fingers. All’s good now.
Nice job! Lisle makes some of those suction window hold up tools. I own a set and they work very well.
If the water shield goo is sticking really well and not wanting to come off I have found that if you stretch it out a little bit then cut in in the middle with a utility knife it works really well. Leaves half on the door and half on the shield that way it is super easy to re-install and sticks good.
Some one in the factory can fit this in a coupe of mins, yours however is far more entertaining, keep it up mr O
Awesome job!
GM team SMA & thanks for the vijeau!
Sounds like carp tunnel trying to get ya. Hit me in my 50s got bad enough felt like needles poking out my fingers. Had to have repaired. This is one pita repair
When you snap off part of the regulator, as I did, you can glue the broken piece back on with Loctite HY 4070. It sets very quickly, less than a minute with any luck.
Yeah its true Eric we like to look at her ! you lucky dog !
Just took some glucosamine chondroitin. It helped. Good video.
