Make the underwater levels
I could see Nintendo and Lego releasing sets with buildable levels of Super Mario Bros. and maybe even other iconic NES games. Personally, I would love to see an expansion pack with a level from Super Mario Bros. 3, plus a Super Mario 3 game pak to complete the set.

So thinking of your model I've had some ideas as well, I think we are thinking to much in the box. Think about extending the carousel. This will take some additional thinking. Think about this getting two nes's, then make extra long panels to incorporate the entire map. Then take the two new models and space them apart as much as possible and the create a track for it to follow and to support the carousel. If you have questions let me know.
Interesting idea! It is indeed feasible...part of the appeal for me is working within the confined space the LEGO NES presents, but at that point I might need to design a totally new TV to hold such a thing. That's a lot of work, but it has my gears turning. Worth considering!

I like this idea, Old TV were thick as hell, so plenty of room to build the tv box thicker. That would allow for a longer train

I have just bought the LEGO Atari 2600, and it would've been great to have a TV like the Nintendo Set - was thinking of buying the parts for the Nintendo TV and creating the Pac Man game on the TV - any thoughts or ideas on this would be great!

Nicely done, Club Brick! From what I've seen here, it's easier said than done to build a custom LEGO NES level for Mario to endlessly platform on. It only takes a few seconds or so (at minimum) to fix a mistake in your level in Super Mario Maker 2. However, it takes a good few minutes to fix a bug here. This project must've taken a lot of trial and error, while also adding fun into the mix. Overall, you did a great job recreating a classic level from the 1985 Super Mario Bros. with such a restricted space. Well done! this looks really good and it’s exactly what i thought of when i finished this set.
This is great! I wonder if there was a way to modify the tv so it was much deeper so you can have a longer roll to make levels larger.

I think for the iron blocks, you should use plates instead of tiles like they did in the set to let it blend in with the other level
