What love HE, GOD ALMIGHTY, shows to us by hearing our prayer.

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance”
    John 3:9

"That's what a vocation means, that God calls us and gifts us for certain things. And happy is the man who finds employment at the center
of his vocation. Tragic it is when a person is employed outside of his or her vocation because, sooner or later, that will fail."
Wow, I have begged God to show me my "vocation" since I was 18. I'm now 56 and still have not found it. I have worked so hard in any job I've had. But my life has been an utter failure.

He did go home and pick up a pen. And he wrote what most scholars believe was the first of the four Gospels, the Gospel according to St. Mark. Because that was his life's work, one of the greatest contributions to the ministry of Christ ever accomplished was accomplished by a man who was fired from his job as a missionary to become a gospel writer
Wow, I had never really thought of it in these terms! Many people think writing is not a "real job." Even some Christians may think that way. They may think that missionary work / "being in ministry" is the only valid (or the most valid) work for a Christian. And while they may say, "Well, writing the Bible is different. THAT'S important", Mark had no idea that's what he was doing at the time!

9:55 A side note, but I appreciate that they pray for people who are unemployed! I've been without full time work for years now. I've pretty much given up. It's unbearable. No one seems to understand or care.
I think he's a bit naive, though. Many bosses love getting rid of people. That's been doubly true the past few years, as so many people were fired over refusing the injections. The employers not only didn't care, they were happy to do it. Churches didn't care, either, as they shut the doors in their people's faces.

@@Yesica1993 We are all flawed whether Christian or not. I empathize with you as I have only been able to work part time since an auto accident and several spinal fusions. But by the grace of God we are both IN Christ! How sweet is that! You are in my prayers. 🙏♥️🙏

Barnabas was a "good" man. The word agatha was used to describe Barnabas. I see him in the position Jesus taught when he disrobed and took on the role of a servant. Mark's gospel tells us he, Mark, likely came in among the disciples with "the other 70." I believe he may have been as young as 12 years old in the last year of Jesus' ministry. Mark's mother was one of the Marys and there was a prayer meeting held that led up to the mysterious release of Peter from prison. Uncle or not, I trust the opinion of Barnabas who held the highest level of grace and faith. By a gift of faith, Barnabas had put on godliness and that role in ministry that the apostle John called "sons of God." The epistles of Paul are a wonderful source of information and character, but IMO they are not necessarily inspired by the Holy Spirit. Am I wrong? I can be wrong. I am old and I've made plently of mistakes. It looks to me like Paul made a few himself.

I find it interesting that Mark knew Jairus' daughter was dying on her twelfth birthday. This may have been part of the conversation between Jesus and the messenger. The girl is said to be in her 12th year. This means that she was 11 when Jesus was first called to go to her. Then it was said that she was almost 12. Jesus did not raise her until she was fully 12 years old. I know this was important, why was it important for her to have achieved the age of maturity?
