for decades id thought this art was lost. mainly because i had gotten immersed in another field. so good to hear its been evolving since. now i can enjoy this through a sound system and high def video on the living room screen, and no pops or scratches! yeahhhh
@@TheLeonardRunning What a loss...damn...met his dad at an event (Stacy was a hero of mine as a young Santa Cruz CA skate rat and secret jazz kid) and didn't have the nerve to bring Austin up because it hadn't been very long since he'd passed and quite simply would've felt like an asshole if I had.
Charles is a lot more Holdsworth like than I thought. I only heard him in Corea's Vigil band. He has his own sound and is more John McLaughlin influenced with the clean picking. This guy can play anything and everything in any style. Fantastic player
Some truly amazing playing by Austin and Charles. Where would Austin be now if he were alive? What an incredible and unique talent he represented. Virgil is awesome as ever. My only complaint is the fusion-like interpretation from him of a great jazz tune. I would have preferred a more subtle approach to the drumming. Still liking it a lot.
I gotcha, I asked you this in part because there are cases where there may be an assembly of "great players" that make up a "band", yet for whatever reason that particular group of players do not work well as a band but the term "great band" is used because of the "great" individual players. Sometimes I guess it IS about flexing your muscles and seeing how far you can take it out. I dug this but admittedly it's not something I'd want to hear all night long. :) Thanks for replying back, Vet.
that kid was a beast, total savage mode lol...and for the third time...RIP Austin...I hurt for his dad Stacy more than mere words can express...his son was talented (and from what I've ,and really sweet and loving guy)...every time I think about this I grieve for the Peralta family.
Ha, In reading your comments, I'm curious what it is in your assessement then that makes them a "great band"? There are very few who can play scales like that. Let alone at 22 years of age. This talented kid is gone now but in his short time here on earth he's left a legacy and has accomplished more than most will over an entire lifetime. Rest In Peace, Austin. Killer band also.
@@Minotauro_di_Chieti wait...Whaddya MEAN? All these amazing new young talents that SOUND LIKE Allan are FAKES??? MrLordHasta I didn't know that Peralta was the son of the famous 1970s skateboarder Stacy Peralta. Just googled his bio. He died from viral pneumonia at 22 years of age, apparently aggravated by drugs and alcohol. Sad, especially since his dad was well-known for being a clean-living skateboarder as opposed to most of the skateboarders he came up with, way too many of whom ended up with serious drug and alcohol problems and some, like Jay Adams, even ended up doing prison time.
Grande Charles Altura, brilla en los altos de la musica y la guitarra
Doug Shreeve, the incredible bassist here, apparently stopped playing as of around 2015. What a loss for us.
I come back to this video frequently- Charles Altura is on fire here.
Impressive
Holy shit, what talent on that stage. A real Tour de Force. Peralta on keys is brilliant, hard to believe he passed away. RIP.
Didn't this INCREDIBLE Guitarist step off this world already at such a young age and as such a PHENOMENON ?
... Bravissimi!!!!!
Such a tragedy that such a young talent as Austin Peralta left us so early. His playing is amazing.
How true man.
He was really awesome!
Wow - Virgil has a great trad jazz feel .
absolutely stunning beyond any scope of humankind.

Once again, RIP Austin
Great to see Virgil play MORE of a jazz approach here than rock fusion. VERY impressive!
These guys are ridiculous! to the highest level
What a seriously killing band. Ultra monsters.
Donati, Altura, and Peralta..nice Eye-talian boyz.
RIP Austin! Damn.
Wowsers! Brilliant playing and music.
Wow...! Great band,as usual, with Virgil and Anthony+the other musicians...!
THIS IS THE BEST VERSION I'VE EVER HEARD THE INTENSE VELOCITY IT TAKES A LOT OF ENDURANCE TO PULL THIS KIND OF PLAYING OFF
Austin Peralta...
Mesmerizing!
thanks for the reupload!
still love it!!
That last 45 seconds was All BOSS !
Stixnfeet Durden lol this whole clip is Beast Mode

My fav kit of Virgil's,that colour reminds me of an old eh Holden.
RIP AP
amazing performance. also ''Nothing Personal'' by Don Grolnick - 2:37
*Don Grolnick
Another Karizma nod, nice. Peralta was such a genius, so sad to lose him to drug abuse.
KILLER; only possible at baked potatoe!

He's like the marriage of john mclaughlin's right hand and Allan Holdsworth's left hand.
ha, that nails it.
Perfect!
Holy shit

Charles Altura ??? Never heard of him...Anyone who can Holdsworth out like that ( without two handed tapping ) is top master
I'm a Holdsworth fanatic. Charles Ultra can also pick like John McLaughlin at his best! He also played in Chick Corea's band Vigil. He's the real deal
_"Holdsworth"_ ???!
Nope, dude, it's all signal processing.

this whole thing is great..wish there was better lighting though..
na die erzählen ja geschichten da an den klangkörpern :P aber gerne hör ich da zu :D
thx len. is charles picking every note?
I think he is. It's pretty astounding.
No, he actually uses legato extensively.
Wonder how many sixteenth notes were played there ? Millions 😎
Where the heck is Doug Shreeve now?
who's the guitar player????
Fantasic stuff. Shame no close ups of the guitarists hands though
Um, is Virgil a jinx or something?
Is this Planet X stuff i hear
Scott Henderson and Joe Satriani move over!
Seriously, doncjha just love Altura play be-hop? So reverent and irreverent at the same time!
GUITARIST PASSED AWAY ???? Life is cruel
No, the keyboard player

this ain't 'super fusion'
it's alien fusion meant for aliens...
Some martians here 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Virgil couldn't afford Allan Holdsworth so he got a clone......
MikeHF Altura is one of a kind and a huge young talent. Don't call disrespect him by calling him a clone
even dream theatre did get confused by virgil. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA and they took the drummer i disliked the most of all.
Play as fast as you can something will happen.
pretty much this.
