I too own an ‘88 911. Have had her for 18 years never letting her go. Used to track it as a porsche instructor with PCA at Sebring but now she’s a street car again.
I'm very glad to see the 911 back, I can never get enough of the sounds from it! From the to the door closing, gear whine, and of course the roar from the flat 6 it all sounds incredible! Great video Ted
Been here since before you started full time UA-cam. I don’t have the time to watch every video, but I always love your content man. Keep it up, love seeing the 911 again. Your channel is like the good and healthy part of the internet nowadays :)
Thank you for sharing the reason why you bought the car, that's a beautiful tribute. A great way keeping the friendship you had alive, and to inspire others. Thank you.
Congratulations on where you are in life, it's clear you appreciate what you have and where you're headed. You're one of the ones who deserve their success. Cheers.
Bro you’re car is just so amazing I love it!!!! I have a 88’ 911 carrera cabriolet, roll cage, anti roll bar through the trunk, borla exhaust, and a chip for the ecu(gives it 50 hp I think) it runs 255 rn, racing seats, rear seats taken out still have original carpet and doors but might get the rs interior for the door. Love watching your channel on driving different cars it’s amazing, thank you for loving and caring for these dream cars.
Tedward! I know this video is a few days old now, so I don't know if you'll see this, but I just recently picked up my 2023 Civic SI, and your videos on your SI were definitely part of what swayed me! It's a great little car and does everything I need it to. Keep up the great videos!
Bro you can never flip this this is an extension of your buddy. Its beautiful. Just think how many of these are on the road today, in this good of shape..maybe a couple hundred?
I just love this channel you have created and feel really lucky to be a part of your community! These kinds of videos are really nice, like a conversation and the Therapy Drives I love them too! That Porsche look SO SICK in front of the newer Spyder!
Absolute love the history and story behind your ownership of the Porsche (thank you for sharing with us), looking forward to seeing more of it on the channel!
I’ve got an all original guards red ‘88 Carrera with the aero package. Performance wise it’s nothing compared to my 2017 GTI but the number of “thumbs up” I get is off the charts. It feels and looks so right.
I just noticed how you keep a respectful distance from other drivers in front of you, no matter what fine vehichle you happen to be driving. Seems to be an automatic thing you don't really think much about, probably because you're busy talking about how niyce it is to be driving whatever car you're driving. That's cool! Give this guy a gold star. As you say, RESPECT the drive! Trust me, the guy in front of you should seriously appreciate that! /:-)
Nice review and the Bride had a 1990 964 Cabriolet, that I refused to work on, it broke and sat for a bit. I did put fresh oil in prior to the rest period. a few years later, she wanted to sell it and asked if I would "please" get it running again. I worked on a bit (went nuts chasing a starting issue) and being a Corvette guy, it was an experience as Porsche never intrigued me. Well, I got it going and she sold it. Now I own the 911 and spent a few more months chasing gremlins and seeps, etc. New ignition system, valve covers, gear linkages and couple pages of other things. Yes when I am driving it, it is just so primal and analog that it is a pleasure. I apparently got infected by 911 cooties and really liked the hand craftsmanship of the Marque...
I took driving courses in my Mustang, so front engine RWD. Drove a lightly modified 993 Turbo AWD. It did not like my driving, got into understeer really quickly. I'm so use to turning into a corner, and heavily rolling onto the throttle in my Mustang, back end rotates and maybe slides a touch. This had so much rear end grip, and very narrow front tires.
Youre killing youtube man, I realized I wasnt subscribed but ive been watching for probably close to a year now. Love all your content and you POV drive of a 335i helped me in the purchase process of the 335i I just bought. Keep doing your thing man, cant wait to see where you end up a year from now!
@@KingSnape4000 as far as i know it was realy done for racing scenarios, if the steering wheel spokes would often cover the redline area it would get turned to mak eit easier to read especially while cornering, but this is all just my assumption based on the fact old race cars would do that
Great to see you have a Civic Type R. Such a cool car. We met last year on a drive to Western MA last year. We had 3 Porsche's and I had the white R8. Great videos!
@@TedwardDrives LOL YES. I forgot about that guy that just wanted to talk about that. Funny. Enjoy your drives. Perhaps we'll run into each other again for a nice spirited drive again. Keep up the great work and love your videos.
10:20 I feel that personally. In the last 5-8 years it feels like everyone one in my area has started using the fun twisty roads as cut through roads. I'm perpetually stuck behind massive SUVs when I just want to enjoy my Miata.
Yes, some cars are worth keeping. And some channels are worth subscribing to. I don't have a 911, air cooled or otherwise. But I have an FK8, and the pleasure of watching your videos. To quote the late Meatloaf, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
What a great Porsche you got yourself there. Many congrats. And yes, I don't understand those who buy expensive cars & then treat them as if it were an antique ornament in locked glass cabinet.
I love taking my E39 M5 around New England backroads, so much more fun driving older cars - they still have character! My new Porsche is a blast but its sorta too easy to go fast.
I drive my '89 3.2 as you do and eventually my engine wore out. I went all in on the rebuild and did a cammed 3.4 setup and while not cheap, I'd rather not drive anything else.
i cant beleive that i now have a very similar car after watching your videos with so much appreciation, i will soon be able to go on drives like this! :D thanks for keeping me into these hard to get cars .. :D
This is why I like tedward. No other car youtuber is more relatable and real. Thanks for the good watch as always. (Probably helps that youre also from MA)
Such a cool car dude. I go into mass for work all the time and I don’t think I’ve ever seen you driving around the route 1 area or even Chelsea where I work
If you ever have the money, build that baby to a spec you like, is probably cheaper than paying premium for "X" model. And is still your car and is getting better because of you and your hard work. I think that's 10 times more rewarding than overpaying for a car you are going to be afraid of driving.
Sorry to hear about your friend; I didn't know that story. I had to laugh about the RAV4. There used to be a video with someone driving a 911SC and ending up behind a small ford commuter sedan and you hear the driver say "Stupid Ford Focus." You took that RAV4 in stride.
The car that got me watching in the first place. Life is good.
Haha, me too. Only reason I know of Tedward. Was watching 911 videos and his popped up from when he bought this.
Nothing is better than the weather improving and realizing you can take your classic car for a ride. Your Carrera looks amazing!
Did exactly that today👍
It’s a good day when Tedward uploads a video
Signs of Spring:
Birds flying North.
Planting and sprouting of crops.
Allergies....
The 911 Carrera being let loose among the public.

I was starting to worry you had sold it, glad to see you back in it.

I am SO happy to see this car again, it's been a while!! I also love the fact that you kept it, especially with the story behind it
I love the 911 and I love the fact that your UA-cam channel business is going well. Good for you man 👍🏼!
Thank you! and thanks for watching and being a part of it
@@TedwardDrives it is my pleasure. The content is so good. Keep it up and I wish you continued success with the channel and doing what you love.

Why do I think this is Tedward's best video? It has soul, I can feel it.

The view out the front of the 911s with the nacelles never gets old, great visibility and looks easy to place.
Nothing like some good old school air cooled 911 sounds on a nice day

Never gets old driving a PORSCHE. The sound of that flat 6 is music to one ears. Keep on keeping on!!
so epic. btw the guy in the tall sl probably had the air suspension set to the highest setting
Man I almost got a heart attack, thought you sold your type R lol
Hahha I very rarely make titles like this but this one was fun
same here! you had me fooled with the title!
Same😂
Same! I was like dang son.... this dude really goes through cars.

Very nice spread, man. Lots of space and green plants. Chicks love that.
R.I.P to your friend man
god bless your old friend
Wow. Those revs drop QUICK
So happy to see the 911 back!
Hope we get to see more of it this summer and also hope you get to use it a lot this year Ted :)
Always enjoy how these videos with the Porsche include the cold start and all of the associated noises/procedures.

My favorite kind of Tedward video.
Classic Porsche door close sound 🥰
Finally it’s back 🎉
420k subscribers! I'd say I agree with you - the business is going well. It's good to see the 911 again. 😊

Now, this is a dream car.. I've been here since before you went full time UA-cam so I've seen this quite a bit featured but I can't get enough
Pure bliss.
I like my old BMW’s
but I absolutely love an old 911.
Yes! I missed this gorgeous piece of machinery!
Followed you a few years ago for your videos with this car, so glad it’s back!

Bruh, 14 minutes is not enough, we need a 1 hour long solo podcast
Great idea

Such a beautiful car especially in all black
the shier beauty of the gauge clusters on that era of porches is unrivaled and i love how beautiful it is
I’m confused why some of the gauges are sideways. @tedward do you explain this in the video and I missed it?

I would easily watch a 2 hours video with you just driving it around.
Cheers from Brazil!

That 911 sounds amazing😍
Just found your channel and loving your stuff👍
Thank you!
Porsche days are my favorite!!!
Ahhh that time of the year
More of this car please
What is not to love. An air cooled analog 911 with that classic gauge setup. It's timeless and a Keeper!! Good Luck!👍👍
I absolutely love the old 911s. Will always watch a video with this magnificent car!
"I feel proud to own it" That's what it's all about.

always love when this car comes back out!!
I was just wondering a few days ago when you would bring it back out now that the weather is nicer :D
It felt so good to drive it again
Amazing video amazing car and an amazing story I’m sure he’s watching from above listening to that flat six sing
Great to see the old girl back out. She looks and sound awesome.
Pleasure meeting you. Let’s cruise sometime. I could bring the N or my 65 Mustang.
I love this channel. It’s so calming, please keep it up Ted
waiting on 2024 video of your 3.2!
Short gearing would make this really fun to drive Bro. There are kits through which you can DIY. Maybe give it a thought.
Always a treat seeing this car again, sounds so good 🙂
Been a hot minute since we've seen your Porsche on the channel
Such a spectacular machine
What's going on with the gauges?😅 Btw, really like your mom's X3 with the M package... 🙂👍🏼
if you’re referring to the sideway gauge its just so it’s easier to see when youre gonna redline. My dad did the same thing with our ‘83 911 targa
Keep up with the regular upload!!!! Love your videos!
Such a cool car
Beautiful car and sound!
