looks good, nice choice on the outboard being mounted to look like an inboard 14ft loa but likely 12ft to motor mount. Looks like an Aluminum boat. Cool.
@@360CrankI don't think "real" tug boats have "V" shaped hulls anyways, aren't they rather flat (ish) on the bottom? BTW, are there plans available for this boat?
@@bob2161 Old school tugs were quite fine and fairly deep forward and wound out to a flat run aft to make room for their rather large props. Generally. This vessel is really a toy, but surprisingly able for its intended use in inshore waters. The design is a Candu-EZ, designed by the late Berkley Eastman, and was really intended for plywood. As it happens, shapes that can be built in plywood lend themselves to plating up in aluminum quite easily. The designs were featured in the ads section of WoodenBoat Magazine for decades
@@360Crank thanks for the response. So, aluminum was not the originally intended build material. That's one heck of a modification. I've got some woodworking abilities, so I'd probably go that route since I have zero sheet metal experience. Though I have to admit that the aluminum definitely has a powerful cool factor. I will check out the Candu-EZ site for plans availability. Thanks again.
Hi Mehmet. You are absolutely right, as I mentioned in my comment above. The customer wanted to have a lot of "bollard pull" as he was actually doing some work with it. The boat was never meant to plane, it just did.
@@luisaloma3532 This one was built for the owner of the company but, since, has been sold. I am no longer with Dearden Marine, but I'm sure you can call about commissioning a build.
engine power is too much so speed is high. kort nozzle can make negative effect to thrust above 6 knot. but if a low power engine should be used, thrust addition was more effective.
It may possible be the cutest and coolest little boat of all time, I love it.
This thing is bullet proof looking and gorgeous.Just gorgeous.I could see myself cruising on a back lake or river just loving it.
11 fot 8 inch same bg.
Can’t imagine the work involved in building this.Amazing.

Russell Bros tugs are flat bottomed for working log pond and lake logging operations.

Dang!
dang.. now THAT is cute.
way up there with cats, caterpillars and female olympic pole vaulters.
Please say its made of stainless steel.
Stainless would make a heavier boat; it's aluminum. Very common construction material in the Pacific Northwest.
@Knott Bobby The extra "i" gets lost somewhere in the Atlantic.

Dan McPherson do you have building plans for the tug
The boat is built to plans for "Candu-EZ" from Berkley Eastman.
@@360Crank dan, do you build this on commission?

How much would that baby cost me n today’s world US dollar?
Poor wildlife underwater. It is dang loud.
The noise was mostly from the Volvo powered crew boat which was the filming platform. The Minitug was a very quiet with a Honda outboard.
Cannot mmodify. It was loud but not the boat. It is really cute. Am not a hater
