In the drive-in period the most important thing is to not drive the engine on the same revs over longer periods, e.g. highway cruising, and of course not push the engine too much, but doing a few short pulls on higher revs is not dangerous at all.
I'm sure Robert from Apex at the Nurburgring gave it a workout on the lap Shmee let him drive it.

You might think I am crazy, but I got to say I prefer the GT3 over the GT2 RS. Call me old school, but to me nothing beats the sound of a high revving naturally aspirated engine let alone Porsche's flat 6. Redline it at 9,500 rpm and you are in heaven. It just sounded so good. To me, it is really about the overall visceral experience as a whole as opposed to just empirical performance figures.
if you hit 9,500 rpm with this engine, you have missed a shift. and potentially lunched the engine

Having hit the 9,000rpm redline in a 991.2 GT3 myself via launch control, I can agree it is out of this world!
It's something that any self-confessed petrol head should experience for themselves, if only to hear that flat-six engine at its absolute best.

Yes I totally agree, there are far too many UA-camr's who clearly do it for the money and the ad revenue...there is no content in their video just blabber and blank words for 10 mins to ensure they hit the min length to allow an ad on the video! You, James, however really do it with love, and you really focus on the material and content that goes into your videos! Thanks for another GREAT video, James! I took delivery of my gen 2 GT3 this past November and I've been following (for the most part) the recommended 2K break-in schedule.....and it's killing me!!! I now have 1,400 miles on my car and I'm so looking forward to hearing that 9K Music in my own car. I hear all these stories about Porsche engineers saying it's okay to just use the car to its fullest after the first couple of hundred miles....like you mentioned in this video.... and then Porsche goes and puts the 2K break-in recommendation in the owner's manual....WTF! I just wish Porsche would "officially" say it's okay to drive drive it like you stole it after the first few hundred miles. I look forward to seeing more of your adventures in your new GT3!

Never thought a new GT3 could look so pedestrian until you parked it next to the GT2. The wheels on the GT2 are much more appealing to my eye.

The GT2 RS is my goal car, though they are around $700,000 in Australia. And yes the roll cage in titanium in the Weissach package.

911 H20Cooled they are also 700k in the US. There was no 991.1 2rs.

Just so love that blue on that stunning car, and I never use to be a Porsche lover, but the GT3 has deffo changed my mind.

When you were doing the pulls in the 2RS, there was a definite engine note that hasn't been captured before in a youtube video. A note that is synonymous with the NA engines.

I’ve watched this video maybe 20x over the past year. My favorite modern supercar, except the steering wheel is on the wrong side and it’s missing the gear selector thingy in the middle of the center console (you made up for half of your flaws recently). LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH😭🥰❤️

Mr. JWW, I'm sorry I left a snarky "why didn't you get a manual" comment in your showroom unveil video. I still think that the more involved you are driving a sports car (manual), the more rewarding, i.e. the better. However, you're so enthusiastic about your new GT3 that I have to give you a pass. You never forget to be appreciative of what you do and what you have, and for a well-off chap, it's easy to not be as grounded as you are. Absolute personal preference of course but this vid confirms that I definitely prefer light coloured wheels. Miami blue with silver wheels looks so fresh and awesome on the GT2RS. Having said that, I wouldn’t turn down James’ GT3 :)

I've been waiting for this James :D what a stunning car! And James, when they say break in period it doesn't really mean it's all about the engine keeping under a certain RPM, it's about the car as a whole, break in period is the time where things can go wrong and all the malfunction with the whole building process ( if there is any) would probably appear so you have to stay at a certain RPM until a specific mile just in case...
