Any thoughts on which controllers might be good for AI pro? I have it on my Mac and want to buy a controller, but my guess is the midi mapping would be complex?
It seems to make simple crossfading so simple, but IMO it's real point of difference is bootlegs! www.mixcloud.com/M3lloD/djay-pro-ai-experimental-bootleg/
My suggestion? Consider 2 controllers. Hear me out: one of the odd strengths of DJAY is that it automaps to an asston of cheap dj controllers out there. Use your controller of choice and get a cheapie old x-session pro controller off eBay and use it as your dedicate AI stem controller for the part separation. Just map to it.
My software of choice is Traktor. My dj partner uses Serato. But damn BOTH of those softwares have a LOT of catching up to do. I would love for Traktor to finally update themselves for the 2020's to be able to do this!! (Allen and Heath, are y'all listening?????)
I have djay Pro AI on my MacBook Pro M1 13" 60Hz. The Waveforms, on the One Deck mode, move smoothly from right to left; but on the Pro or Video mode, the Waveforms do not move smoothly or almost smoothly while playing a song or MV.
@@digitaldjtips I think the issue is that the Waveform of a song is running by a high-performance core and the Slice is running by a low-performance (efficiency) core of M1 chip MacBook Pro 13" by their different speeds. If djay Pro AI is programmed to run on one high-performance cores for the Waveform and another high-performance core for Slice for by the same speed, both move smoothly on the Pro or Video mode. I have VirtualDJ Pro all run smoothly the waveform and Slice and MV without issue on my 2009 MacBook Pro 17" and M1 MacBook Pro 13".
@@digitaldjtips I looked at the list before I asked but unfortunately I didn't see the ''All natively supported MIDI controllers'' part which is at the very end. Sorry for that and thank you so much for your time :)
Great video! Do you know if they fixed the software issues when using the Denon mc4000 controller? It use to stop working in the middle of mix and/or all of a sudden drop your audio without warning.
Greetings and thanx again for another excellent tutorial. This app is interesting and might be quite suitable but can you record the mix that you create...thats the question. I own a few downloads of the original DJay Pro for my mbp, iPad, iPhone and a iPad mini 2nd gen....would like to upgrade.
@@digitaldjtips HI again!!! Not possible to record and save or share....I tried many times and when I go to "share" the recording just disappears....nowhere to be found. An "IT" Friend said its not possible to save recordings probably because of Artist Royalties (I tend to agree w him). It's too bad because on the other version of DJ you can share to iTunes and your music does not get lost. No Record = Deal breaker. Sadly the hype from these tech companies always makes their Apps appear better than they actually are and Algoriddim who are respectable must be pressed due to lagging sales? Who knows but imho this app is a fish. Thanks anyway & Peace!
This software blows Serato out of the water and it runs my day equipment so well on Mac. It even loads my songs faster from Mac or external drive. I’m definitely switching, and not looking back!!!!!
Mac is ahead of iOS right now. I imagine some of the features they have just added to the Mac version will make their way over to the iOS version at some point Jonas.
That’s my issue.. I wish the iOS version was synced with the Mac version so that you could do all the editing on the phone & go play on Mac when it’s really showtime!
It does this instant stem separation only with it's special packs right?! Can not do that with any song we choose to play from our personal collection, right?!
There are loads already compatible; www.algoriddim.com/hardware We'd probably have to have a think as far as which one in particular we'd recommend using with it, none at the moment have been made with these features in mind
BUT you needed your tracks to be Stems to start with. Algoriddim makes the stems on the fly with any track. That's the reason why stems on Traktor never really took off: track availability.
What do you think is the best small controller to use all these features? I'm thinking of a DJ Tech Tools Midi Fighter Twister but am interested to know alternatives
That would be a good choice, but you can map anything - for instance if you DJ with two decks, you could use a four deck controller and remap the third and fourth deck controls to control this stuff
If you define your MacOS djay collection as "master" then it's very easy to get that on all "slave" iOS devices. In the 2nd part of this tutorial I show how to do it ua-cam.com/video/S8nvJWo0qiE/v-deo.html, it is possible to reverse it too (from iOS to MacOS djay)
@@MixMasterG hi. i've just have a look at your video which is great because i could discover the logilink and other hardwares ;) but my request for Djay would be that you could access the same internal Djay library whether you are on Mac or on iOS. That way we could work on Mac at home and also use the iPad or iPhone while away with the same database... But apparently some people at Algoriddim told me that it was not possible, perhaps due to limitations on iOS ... do you have the same information ?
I learned on dj pro and the neural mix which taught me how to do it manually now I prefer to do it manually I never used any other software so I can’t say it’s better or not only that I am very comfortable using it
Is there a way to make it not sound so crushed? It's great that you can separate with stems with AI, but it sounds like the music is losing all its energy.
Things have moved on quite a lot since this, for instance Serato and Virtual DJ both have stems that sound better than this. We're expecting Algoriddim will release an improved version soon enough, too.
expensive? free? what's the set back? I own a macbook pro how does this help me? especially with this new Big Sur update nonsense that I already downloaded..
I know they won’t because they’re afraid to end up like Native Instruments BUT if they were to make make a bespoke controller for this software I believe they would destroy Serato and Rekordbox. Just my opinion,,,
I am using Neural Mix Pro v 1.1.1 on my MacBook Pro M1. Neural Mix Pro separates karaoke songs into 4 different tracks: VOCALS, HARMONIC, BASE, and DRUMS. Karaoke songs have no vocals at all. I hope Algoriddim make an update Neural Mix Pro 2.0 to improve it by separating karaoke songs with no vocals on VOCALS track.
@@digitaldjtips No. After exporting a karaoke song to 4 seperated tracks by Neural Mix Pro, I can work it around by merging it's VOCALS track with HARMONIC track in Garaband exporting them as one merged track. I hope new version of Neural Mix Pro can do like that for karaoke songs.
Hi Phil, the three crossfader mixer was already applied on the Atomix Dj software long long long long time ago, basically Algoriddim has taken an old idea into a new level.
I have just downloaded AI to my brand new Mac but I’m missing the NURALMIX crossfaders. Do you need to plug in the controller for it to appear? Thank you
Funny thing is , I've had this app for years on my phone and this is how I learn a bit about djaying and i loved it but now that i have it on my mac i never use it. Guess I'm so used to serato. But i need to play with this app as well
if VDJ wasn’t so buggy it’d be the Mobile DJ’s choice due to so many managemt feature (scheduling) and the $10/mo downloadable stream service. how does DJay compete with these features? i will say it seems like the most stable SJ app. is there an app stability comparison chart anywhere?
does it sync with music subscriptions like youtube music or spotify? or do you have to import songs into the programme or CDS? Or is all music included in the app subscription?
Yes what software does it work on please? I’m stuck on Sierra & can’t seem to upgrade to High Sierra (which I believe is the minimum? Tried & tried to no avail!😩🥺) with an ageing late 2011 MacBook Pro with limited space & no one to sort it during Lockdown it’s not been plain sailing! Please Help! 🙏🏼💜🎶
Your issue it to figure out that upgrade, because this is going to happen more and more for you until you do. Good luck! I have a 2011 MacBook Pro running Catalina, so maybe you need to just free up some space on that ol' Mac of yours :)
thats why i asked in q&a section some time ago, regarding the stems, do you think stems + dolby atmos will change our way of djing. you shoed in the video what i ment by that question. Specifically , when mixing 4 decs (drums from 1, vocals from 2, harmonics from 3, shots from 4). Instant mashups/bootlegs throughout the set ? gotcha play with steems + loops + 4 decks (and effects)to crate somthing different ? check I'm super excitd to see soon i hope what skilled dj's can pull off with those live

Use your controller of choice and get a cheapie old x-session pro controller off eBay and use it as your dedicate AI stem controller for the part separation. Just map to it.
Amazing, but why no beat count yet?
You can enable beat count in the settings (it’s just off by default for visual simplicity).
@@AlgoriddimOfficial thank you. I found it. Can I also enable it on IOS?
@@AlgoriddimOfficial I also miss enabling comments to be added for Tidal tracks. It is something that Serato allows
My software of choice is Traktor. My dj partner uses Serato. But damn BOTH of those softwares have a LOT of catching up to do. I would love for Traktor to finally update themselves for the 2020's to be able to do this!! (Allen and Heath, are y'all listening?????)
That is only a rumour of course...
@@digitaldjtips Yeah I know, but I'm hanging on every thread. :(
I have djay Pro AI on my MacBook Pro M1 13" 60Hz. The Waveforms, on the One Deck mode, move smoothly from right to left; but on the Pro or Video mode, the Waveforms do not move smoothly or almost smoothly while playing a song or MV.
Might be something they'll address in an update
@@digitaldjtips The Waveforms do not move smoothly playing a song or MV when I use Slice on the Pro or Video mode.
I have VirtualDJ Pro all run smoothly the waveform and Slice and MV without issue on my 2009 MacBook Pro 17" and M1 MacBook Pro 13".
jay Pro AI for Mac needs a fifth stem Hi-hat or HAT besides the current DRUMS, BASE, HARMONIC, and VOCALS.
Hello, thank you for the video ! I would like to ask you something. Can I use Djay Pro AI with any controller ?
I'm considering to buy ddj-400
You can connect it via midi - full list here: www.algoriddim.com/hardware
@@digitaldjtips I looked at the list before I asked but unfortunately I didn't see the ''All natively supported MIDI controllers'' part which is at the very end. Sorry for that and thank you so much for your time :)
Great video! Do you know if they fixed the software issues when using the Denon mc4000 controller? It use to stop working in the middle of mix and/or all of a sudden drop your audio without warning.
No I don’t I’m afraid
Greetings and thanx again for another excellent tutorial. This app is interesting and might be quite suitable but can you record the mix that you create...thats the question. I own a few downloads of the original DJay Pro for my mbp, iPad, iPhone and a iPad mini 2nd gen....would like to upgrade.
Glad to help Peter :) Yes you can record your mix
It is the best written of all DJ software
Wow! Why did I stop playing with this software a couple of years ago? I'm intrigued.
Definitely should give it another go :)
Does their software work with controllers or just strictly iOS and laptop?
It work with controllers as well
I need this!
Cool Phil! Thanks for the demo! Will the iOS and MacOS-versions be identical, you think? Right now there are some few differences, right?
Mac is ahead of iOS right now. I imagine some of the features they have just added to the Mac version will make their way over to the iOS version at some point Jonas.
That’s my issue.. I wish the iOS version was synced with the Mac version so that you could do all the editing on the phone & go play on Mac when it’s really showtime!
It does this instant stem separation only with it's special packs right?! Can not do that with any song we choose to play from our personal collection, right?!
Any song.
yeh but how to assign these effects to knobs? or djs should play with mouse all the time
You map it, or grab something like the "Reloop Buddy" which has been designed specifically with Stems in mind :)
What controller would you recommend for this software?
There are loads already compatible; www.algoriddim.com/hardware We'd probably have to have a think as far as which one in particular we'd recommend using with it, none at the moment have been made with these features in mind
reloop mixon 4
@@amauryssantana2442 If only the Mixon 4 had Aux-in! Hopefully Reloop will upgrade it at some point!
Traktor has FX control per STEM since 2015.
What a missed opportunity. Real-time STEM convenience is king.
That was the missing piece of the puzzle, wasn't it...
BUT you needed your tracks to be Stems to start with. Algoriddim makes the stems on the fly with any track. That's the reason why stems on Traktor never really took off: track availability.
@@AlejandroJulien there is no but. That was exactly what i wrote. Please read again
So cool. Come on Serato!
I've found Faderfox EC4 which looks even better. I'm expanding out to play with 4 decks so this kind of 4x4 grid would work well with these features
Cool :)
Djay is great on iOs and Mac but it lacks FULL library sync between idevices... they said they re working on it but it looks difficult to implement...
Would definitely be nice to have
If you define your MacOS djay collection as "master" then it's very easy to get that on all "slave" iOS devices. In the 2nd part of this tutorial I show how to do it ua-cam.com/video/S8nvJWo0qiE/v-deo.html, it is possible to reverse it too (from iOS to MacOS djay)
@@MixMasterG great i need to see that !
@@jipenade if you got questions feel free to ask
@@MixMasterG hi. i've just have a look at your video which is great because i could discover the logilink and other hardwares ;) but my request for Djay would be that you could access the same internal Djay library whether you are on Mac or on iOS. That way we could work on Mac at home and also use the iPad or iPhone while away with the same database... But apparently some people at Algoriddim told me that it was not possible, perhaps due to limitations on iOS ... do you have the same information ?
does the neural stems feature work on standard wav/mp3 audio or does it used audio stem tracks? It looks like a cool feature and lots of fun.
Any files!
@@digitaldjtips That's really cool, almost tempted to get a mac.
I learned on dj pro and the neural mix which taught me how to do it manually now I prefer to do it manually
I never used any other software so I can’t say it’s better or not only that I am very comfortable using it
Awesome :)
I wouldn't have updated to Big Sur yet, check out the details here: www.algoriddim.com/
That slip loop feature is simply amazing!!
Isn’t it just!
Wow this looks like a game changer and I'm ready to give it a try. Just wondering how stable it is 🤔
Algoriddim software is very stable, I wouldn't worry about that.
Dead solid.
Wow that is a truly robust software. Any idea what the MAC hardware requirements are? Compatible with any players or controllers?
Not sure, I'd check on the App Store page, it'll say there I am sure.
The stems seem to sound better here than VDJ, Phil can you go in depth with VDJ on this?
I think the sound similar.
Wow, this is truly dope. I dont have a mac so just work with the iPad version
Yeah, most of these functions are right there on the iPad version too.
What button manual select track 1 or 2 on keyboard
Can i cut a piece of the sound in djay pro, and how can i fix that?
This is just so much better than Serato. Also on Serato you can’t have two different streaming sources mixed but you can have limitless on Djay.
Yes, the streaming thing is a major disadvantage of Serato over Rekordbox, Virtual DJ, djay Pro.
Would be interesting those tweaks/fx to have in serato and rekordbox
Wonder how long until - or if - we do?
I know they won’t because they’re afraid to end up like Native Instruments BUT if they were to make make a bespoke controller for this software I believe they would destroy Serato and Rekordbox. Just my opinion,,,
No, I don't think Algoriddim would... but that doesn't mean someone else won't...
Most of these neural effects be already mapped to the Mixon 4 controller?
Serato not needs this
I am using Neural Mix Pro v 1.1.1 on my MacBook Pro M1.
So what do you hear on the "vocal" track when you separate a karaoke song this way?
@@digitaldjtips No. After exporting a karaoke song to 4 seperated tracks by Neural Mix Pro, I can work it around by merging it's VOCALS track with HARMONIC track in Garaband exporting them as one merged track. I hope new version of Neural Mix Pro can do like that for karaoke songs.
@@digitaldjtips I see and hear few HARMONIC audio in the VOCALS track of Karaoke songs which have no vocals at all.
Que the mouse/touch pad dj's. We need new controllers. 4 cross faders and dedicated stem knobs would help on the hardware =)
Hardware dedicated for it would be awesome, here's hoping!
Hi Phil, the three crossfader mixer was already applied on the Atomix Dj software long long long long time ago, basically Algoriddim has taken an old idea into a new level.
Yes, but it was frequencies right?
@@digitaldjtips Yep, that's correct.
What should external ssd settings for mac? Read and write what format? Wonder if this work with the new M1
Yes it'll definitely leverage the power of the new M1 chip
@@neosylvain There software does look and sound nice can only improve again
I have just downloaded AI to my brand new Mac but I’m missing the NURALMIX crossfaders. Do you need to plug in the controller for it to appear? Thank you
No, you need to switch it on in the software.
Funny thing is , I've had this app for years on my phone and this is how I learn a bit about djaying and i loved it but now that i have it on my mac i never use it.
Guess I'm so used to serato. But i need to play with this app as well
The stems are a lot of fun to try out
Virtual DJ 2020 has been having neural mix since this year now. Do you know of Searto is working on something simmilar?
We don't know but we wouldn't be surprised if they were
So all these commentors never heard of VDJ? Cause it got stems also and it's improved, the best thing in this software is 1 knob separation option
It doesn't have the features that Djay does as the present time though for its stems, still a great bit of software though
if VDJ wasn’t so buggy it’d be the Mobile DJ’s choice due to so many managemt feature (scheduling) and the $10/mo downloadable stream service.
how does DJay compete with these features?
i will say it seems like the most stable SJ app.
is there an app stability comparison chart anywhere?
We've got lots of mobile DJs in the community for whom Virtual DJ is by far "the choice" :)
I've been a taktor since v1 . Its embarrassing how far behind NI are. Seriously considering a switch
What are you thinking of moving to?
does it sync with music subscriptions like youtube music or spotify? or do you have to import songs into the programme or CDS? Or is all music included in the app subscription?
You can use TIDAL, SoundCloud Go+, Beatport LINK and Beatsource LINK. You have to pay separately for your music subscription.
I mean hardware. 😜
thats why i asked in q&a section some time ago, regarding the stems, do you think stems + dolby atmos will change our way of djing.
you shoed in the video what i ment by that question. Specifically , when mixing 4 decs (drums from 1, vocals from 2, harmonics from 3, shots from 4).
Instant mashups/bootlegs throughout the set ? gotcha
play with steems + loops + 4 decks (and effects)to crate somthing different ? check
I'm super excitd to see soon i hope what skilled dj's can pull off with those live
It's an exciting development that's for sure!
Does this software work with a Pioneer ddj flx10 controller?
Not sure, they have a page on their website listing the hardware configurations.
My Goodness. Unlimited creativity and all on the fly. A true game-changer. Wish list !! Get it onto a PC platform
Hopefully in time they'll bring it to PC as well
