    Hi Richard, I have been enjoying watching your videos for some time now. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. . I had a thought about storing the dragon fruits in the refrigerator while waiting to do a multiple tasting.. I looked up fruit storage and seems to be around 50 -54F lets say for a watermelon /melons. Other fruit storage Apple/Pear does suggest the lower temps32-37F in the refrigerator 37 F. I saw a paper on fig storage at 6C/42F in a film wrapping was best. Also, a wine refrigerator is 55 - 59 °F (12 - 15 °C) and 55 - 75% humidity. Have you tried a different storage temp solution/ comparison or a semi vacuum seal container to keep DF better tasting longer.
    This would be a great video experiment too in my opinion . Just to let you know, I am going to share this comment with some of my other favorite DF expert channels. I have just recently begun my journey in growing DF, so not possible to experiment myself just yet.
    Edit: just looked up Dragon Fruit storage, and it does suggest storing at the higher temps 40F-50F could last to 15-17 days.
    Happy growing

      Hi showbiznow! The parents are Asunta 5 x American Beauty and was created by Edgar Valdivia. The original creator of Asunta line. I crossed a mixture of pollen to set this variety because I wanted to ensure a fruit to try this season. It was a mixture of sugar dragon and pink panther pollen.

      That’s very normal for the winter time. The fruit is will take very long to ripe and sometimes crack at the skin because so much rain pours. When it gets hot and dry they will become a lot better.

    Hi, need advice, I have a dragon fruit (I don’t know which variety from the supermarket) planted about 7 years ago in a 2 liter pot. I didn't shape it properly, it just grew by itself.
    What is the best way to make it start to fruit?
    1. Cut off all unnecessary, leave one trunk and form according to all the rules
    2. Graft another seed-grown variety onto this old trunk.

    • @lexruptor
      @lexruptor Рік тому +2

      Most people go Spicy Exotics, which is legit, you get a certificate thing with it, but they're expensive and almost always out of stock. Personally, I use Etsy, which can come with its own problems, you end up getting like a palora or a vietnamese white when you ordered something else, but it's based on the seller you buy from, so there are actually a lot of great Etsy sellers I would recommend, above and beyond them all is MayumiGardens, she's always kind, efficient, and gets you exactly what you ordered. She also tends to include an aditional cutting of a different variety, so she's great if you're just getting into Dragon Fruit and want to get some variety going fast without spending too much on the plants. That's just my experience though, hope it helps

      During the winter I would water once every 2-4 weeks. Sometimes when it rains I don’t water at all. They are hibernating during winter so not much growth is happen so they require less water. I would check soil to see if it’s dry to water if needed.
