Glad to know there's a new generation of viewers enjoying this classic, as this movie has a special place in my heart, because this movie is as old as I am.
True story: my late father would crack up just watching the trailer on TV. My sister came home from college for break and we took him to see it on opening weekend which was also Thanksgiving. It was packed! We were in the middle of a huge theater, surrounded by little boys. There was a row of kids in front of us that were having a birthday party (matching shirts) and one of them almost made me have a stroke. I'll come back to him. Anyway, you all know the movie, but when the third act started up, the whole theater exploded with laughter. It was friggin bedlam in there! However, no one laughed harder than my dad! He had the greatest laugh that ever existed! He was also very short and round. I was taller than both of my parents by the time I was 8 (I'm 5'4) by a lot. So this little boy from the party turned around, pointed at my dad, who was in his late 60's, and screamed, "even the big kid is laughing!" I almost died from laughing. My sister laugh-cried herself into a bloody nose. It was awesome! Flash forward to a year later when they released "Home Alone" on to video (for the kids out there, it could take years for a film to be released on to VHS back in the day) and my genius mother pre-ordered it for us. We hosted a "Come Watch Dad Watch "Home Alone" Party," which we had catered and 25 adults showed up, to sit with their backs to the TV, on the floor, just to watch my dad laugh. Best. Party. Ever.
fun fact, they had some of the same Home Alone actors in Dennis the Menace, the elderly couple at the airport, Devin Ratrey, and the actress that played Sonra is the baby sitter who didn't want to watch Dennis. John Hughes also wrote that film.
the police situation in this is so ridiculous, haha, i mean a CHILD is home alone, it also says a lot that about the need to know your neighbor and have each other's phone number and keep an eye out when out of town
"Buzz is a Buzz Kill", lol, and you laugh like a Buzz Zapper :3 "See, Old Man Marley isn't a murderer." Ask him again in an hour when he's iced two crooks with his shovel . . . :3
I like Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas, some people will say watch the original but that's only like 20 min. I think. But my favorite one now is the 2018 new animation one. We are saved by grace by what Jesus did on the cross not what we do religiously speaking. ❤ Home Alone 2
I hope you will watch Home Alone 2 next. I found it to be a tad funnier than the first one (the brick scene always cracks me up - you'll see what I mean). There were a total of 6... SIX Home Alone films, but the first two are the only ones worth your time. Parts 3 - 6 has a totally different lead kid, cast, & directors. It's obvious that they were just money grabs for the studio executives trying to cash in on the popularity of the first two original movies, that have become iconic holiday classics over the years. A bit of trivia for you - Joe Pesci filmed this movie around the same time he was filming Goodfellas. He was so used to cursing on the Goodfellas set that he had a hard time refraining from using profanity on this family-friendly movie. So he came up with his own "frickin' frackin' language" to convey his anger & frustration over getting his butt kicked by a little kid - LOL! Merry X-mas!
John Candy only got paid like 400 something dollars for that one Cameo scene he held a grudge for years about it understandably so. You want another good Christmas movie check out the ref 1994
I think when I came to Marvin & Harry, it started off wanting the McAllister‘s personal belongings in the house, into a brutal contest of not letting a 9-year-old kid out best them.
And since they were exactly the same in the sequel, showing that they hadn't changed a bit between the two Christmas's, that means Kevin had an entire year of them still acting that way towards him once their guilt from leaving him behind wore off.
I love that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they weren't in a scene together, close enough. Also the funeral scene by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious. And Marv's spider death scream is legit. He had arachnophobia. The greatest crime in this movie certainly...even tragedy...is that Kevin didn't even get to eat his Macaroni and Cheese...😞
Cop was so stupid he didn't look around the house when he knocked on the door he didn't identify himself as a policeman as they do when they serve warrants or something
This reminds me of my childhood. Ten years straight my family forgot to take me on vacation with them. I stayed home alone for weeks before they looked for me. Ahh, such good memories.
Merry Christmas India!! You will love this movie! No questions asked. I have seen this movie so many times!! Home alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 1992 are the only ones I recommend. The other two are terrible.
BTW, in Home Alone 2 there is a bird lady instead of that uninteresting old guy character. She and Kev exchanged bird souvenirs there. That lady is played by Brenda Fricker who starred and took the Oscar for my Top 5, also Oscar winning movie My Left Foot. Nobody reacted to it, which is hilarious how forgotten it is, you'd think somebody would react to this masterwork of a movie.
The family is so cruel to Kevin but he loves his family still because kids love unconditionally. Buzz never gets punished for provoking Kevin. I do not think he is a brat either nor a bad kid nor michisvious, he only acts out because of bad treatment. And his mom totally dismisses his feelings, even Catherine said she couldn't imagine treating her own child that way now that she has them. But Kate got karma each time.
Home alone 2 is waaaaaaaay better. Kevin grew up and got more daring with his traps. Plus New York City's views beat this boring family trip setting very easily.
Thank you for reacting to this movie. Please react to Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). After that I wouldn't recommend reacting to the other sequels after that. Also please react to Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) with Jim Carrey.
I will tell you one thing if you act like you're going to puke on me. like buzz did to Kevin. Yeah, I'd be throwing punches too. You don't pull that with me. I will knock you one if you play around with food. But however Kevin is invisible unless he's throwing punches does he get noticed. How do you not see him that many eyes and people. I cannot believe they forgot there kid. But the plot of him defending his home is funny. I can't understand how that many people in a house and a group didn't see Kevin at all in the van or on the plane or trying to go through the Airport security. Trust me I have traveled that way. So how they didn't know he wasn't there until they were already in midair is sad. That poor boy could run away, and it would take a week before they noticed him gone. I find it rather hard for a huge family in the numbers that they are traveling with and no one even notices that Kavin is not there? Not in the van sure the one girl counted the other kid by mistake, but what about when they reached the airport or driving to the airport that's a lot of eyes seeing whole lot of nothing. Kavin is so invisible to his family. I love the whole robbers trying to break in and him defending the home that is funny stuff, But I don't excuse the family at all. An 8-year-old alone. I am surprised Kevin wasn't removed from the family. Shit in today's day that what would have happened. It's a good movie. But honestly the family is irresponsible as hell.
Glad to know there's a new generation of viewers enjoying this classic, as this movie has a special place in my heart, because this movie is as old as I am.
Fuller (the little bedwetter) is Macaulay Culkin (Kevin's) real-life little brother, Keiran.
Great reaction. I have a lot of respect for factory workers. That shit aint easy. Wishing your channel a lot of growth! Subbed

I say you should definitely watch the sequel. It's just as good, if not better.

Absolutely, they were pretty horrible to Kevin and the parents acted like they were okay with it. That always bothered me.
And since they were exactly the same in the sequel, showing that they hadn't changed a bit between the two Christmas's, that means Kevin had an entire year of them still acting that way towards him once their guilt from leaving him behind wore off.
Home Alone is also perfect for Halloween time. ;p If You think about Kevin and this movie as an origin story of someone like Micheal Mayers.
