Just finished watching it again, this time found it very relaxing, no trouble identifying most of the peaks. Nice to see and talk to you this AM, Randy thanks to technology!
Yet another spectacular climb and vistas . Once again well documented randy❤2climb :) Love the ptarmigans ! 6:50 favourite part . Excellent sound track choice . Had a couple fun and rewarding outings this season , hope you have too . Kind regards , stacy
Thanks Stacy.... let's keep Spikard in mind for next year. (www.summitpost.org/mount-spickard/153525) It is fairly easy if I come to Canada. In the States it nearly a week project. Mt Redoubt is also in reach.... www.summitpost.org/mount-redoubt/154506 Randy :)
I just got back from a climb a few hour ago. I started of doing Alpine, then Big walls, like in Yosemite, but have always loved mixed rock and ice. .... I also mostly go solo, which violates a basic in climbing. The problem is that I learned young and went solo as a teenager. It is in my blood.
@@RandyT_RandyLikesToClimb We went up the gully directly below the chasm. The ledges option was too snow covered to be remotely safe. We did rappel from the same location as you. Thanks April! It is our wonderful Cascades! I can't wait to get out again, our weather has been so crummy, like yours. That cabin fever just makes getting out better. Randy :)
Randy T I hope to travel that way over the summer to do some hiking there in Washington. It won't be as magnificent as your climbs but I'm older, a girl and top heavy! Lol (excuses are all I got right now)
@@hmtnhk I started from Cascade Pass parking lot, up to Cascade pass via trail, next followed faint climbers path to glacier... to Cache Col, dropped a few hundred feet, headed south to the Formidable-Spider col. Dropped from that col to traverse to a high route crossing to access Formidable. I hope that helps you. I was on the Ptarmigan Traverse going South, all the way.
Another fantastic video! I always appreciate your narration Randy. Otherwise I'd be utterly lost except for being able to identify some peaks. Was that Ying Yang lake or Yang Yang?
I just checked Google maps and it confirms my memory; it is Yang Yang Lakes. They are nearly identical in size. Not sure who named it, but I feel it is well named. If you get an early start from the city. You can make it to Yang Yang Lakes in a day. They are spectacular with Great views looking North or South from many perspectives. Randy :)
Hi Eric, I am using the Sony RX100. Small and great quality for the enthusiast. I use to carry the larger cameras years ago and got tired of them smashing into the vertical rock. I liked what you said about Solo. Solo seems like you can go much faster and get more done. The reward is not a tangible that many get. Wishing you a great day, Randy :)
I’m a Washingtonian and I’ve never even heard of this mountain. Stunning views.
It is in the middle of the Ptarmigan Traverse and one of the 100 highest peaks in the State.
Bro you've inspired me. Subscribed and gonna watch more videos.
Awesome Randy. I wish I could climb like you.

That was the first time I tried the video connection. I like it more than typing.

Great video! And good to know that road is finally open.
Hi Vladimir. They had some major damage a few miles before the end of the Cascade Pass road. I am glad it is repaired too.
Whoaaa bro you actually climb these things! Holy Cow this is impression!!! :)

Great video. We just climbed Formidable over the July 4th holiday. Definitely a challenge, but worth it.
After I climb it. I thought going to the left would work out best. What did you find?

I like your capture! Sony RX100 has better versions now? I looked online and got a bit confused. Thank you!
Sony has many versions of the RX100. I have both the older and the newer versions.
Stunning views!

Fantastic! Is there a place where I can follow your itinerary? Thanks
My Google handle is RandyLikesToClimb. It may not be active for a month or so, but that is how you can find me.
@@RandyT_RandyLikesToClimb probably I used the wrong word, what I was trying to say is how I can find the route you followed in this trip. Thank you.

Nice work, solo makes it so much more rewarding. What camera are you using Randy?
