- Mounting an original BMW video recording system BMW Advenced Car Eye 2.0. on a f15
Assembly made professionally exactly as the manufacturer requires, wiring with special tape that prevents noise from vibration and accidental rubbing or cutting of wires, professional disassembly of panels and perfect placement of wires, cleaning and sanitizing parts that have been disassembled and assembled. here you can see how to make an assembly as per the book, this does not mean that if you stuff the wiring under the plastics and the carpet it will not work, it will work but it will not be safe
And the part that, as the book takes longer is not true, it took longer that I had to film the operation. it is better to work professionally like in the book than to improvise and not sleep well at night with the thought that the car will catch fire

As soon as I started seeing panels come off I knew this was no DIY installation, this is definitely professional. Great video.

It’s not too hard to take off panels. I installed CarPlay and reverse cam into the stock headunit. Entire right side and floor was out. Wrapped all the cables back with the oe wire loom tape as well to the factory wiring already running :)
Just be careful to not break plastic clips go slow with only soft plastic pry tools

A lot of complainers. Too expensive...don’t buy. Too detailed...don’t diy. You’d have done it differently...just do it. Gloves...no gloves...who cares. Just appreciate the work, the attention to detail, and the professionalism. Camera’s likely not my cup of tea...but I’m impressed by the install. Nice work.
This is definitely a dealer job, DIY wont probably do you any good because your reverse gear may turn to m1 lol . Welldone to this expert guy, respect !

So many of us who cherish our BMWs have some kind of horrific story to tell regarding work carried out by BMW franchaises. wow. really nice work. I really like that you pay attention to detail and clean up things before putting everything back together. Anyway I think you could have spared a few steps like wrapping the cable with that cloth tape... I don't think it would ever make noise as you put it together with the other unwrapped cables.
If I would know that the dealer works with that amount of detail I wouldn't do all the mods myself :-p
Not true. I had to dismantle my panels and actually wrap the cables in cloth tape because they were rattling on uneven road. I think wrapping everything in sound absorbing materials should be a standard procedure.

Great work. None of it will matter if an accident occurs and the cord that was placed over the side curtain airbag causes serious injury. Also, wow, that car will never be the same.
Exactly my thoughts form the beginning! Too many steps. I would get pain in my stomach if this would be my car..
There is a wiring harness that runs parallel to the airbag regardless. All he did was run the wire with that harness. How is that relevant?

Is that for installation?! Wow so with £419 for the kit that's a pricey set up. My issue is that that apparently any other than the Blackvue cameras cannot be hardwired into the modern cars so it's either this or blackvue

Wow echt Top gemacht aber was für ein Aufwand. Viele neueren Autos haben schon integrierte cams in Spiegel hinten Vorne, kann mann kein Update machen auf den Bordcomputer das es durch Einstellungen aufnimmt wie mann es haben möchte. Wäre viel einfacher.
The sticky pad set that can bought as a BMW spare part (for use if you've had the windscreen replaced or similar) has some separate sticky black square pads in addition the main 3M sticky pads, are these to be used first so that you don't the white sticky pad visible on the outside of the screen, as in your video?

How do you think your car was built ? all the parts were assembled by someone on the car, they didn't grow there , unfortunately if you have find only bad technicians that didn't know ho to do it properly , this does not mean that everyone is working like that

Hello! you can try to take them from the dealership but normally they are for internal use, but also with a Google search you can find them on forums!
Whole car came apart. Why manufacturers dont include dash cam from factory? At least as an option.

I recently bought a X5 Pre-wired for the ACE 2.0. however, the front camera was missing. Unable to retrieve the camera from the previous owner, I purchased a entire new camera set. However, the camera does not work in the car. I have checked all of the wiring, in line fuse, Everything appears to be in order. I tried the new camera with the mount and harness that it came with in the box, and it works fine. But it will not lite up with the existing old mount in the car. Can you tell me if there is a lockout in these cameras, where they will only work with the original mount, possibly to deter thievery?
Just in case you are still looking for an answer. I got the ACE 3.0 installed from BMW, few months later found the 3.0 Pro which comes with a built in display and a few other advanced features. I just swapped out the front camera unit on the existing harness and dock. It worked without any problem. So there appears to be no lockout. I would think the ACE 2.0 should be the same. The installed harness may be damaged in your case.

Have you ever installed the ACE 3.0 on a G05? If so could you share how you wired? Is there anything different from wiring it in F15? I used to have a F15 with 2 Garmin 66W with no issues. Since I have a X5 45e and installed the same cams, I have several issues with battery draining. Long story short, if you ever installed this in a G05 I would appreciate if you could share the exact wiring incl. Fuse number etc.
Did you get the install instructions for the ACE 3.0 Pro in a G05? I have it, but the local dealer said their EPC has a more up to date version. Also, I saw a post that stated there is a mistake in which wire the B3 cable from the front cam is connected to on the BDC .

That system works through an app that is for Android and IOS, I don't know if BMW has made an application for live cockpit so you can do what you ask. but if you find out something let us know !
I tried to contact my local BMW. They checked with my car,
's chassis number whether can or cannot. They said not getting permit from Factory because there may be some issues like battery problem or something like that after installing it. Is that true or not and why is it.

Good work by a professional installer, but I will not open almost the whole car for just a dashcam. There are other easy way too, trust me, and I am sure this was complicated too, like when you learn multiplication in Chinese way, like drawing line and then add dots on tiktok.
Yes you're right you can make it even simpler, with a plastic spatula to stuff the cables under the plastic ornaments of the car, but that is an improvisation, a cutting of corners, you don't know what will happen from the vibrations with the electric cables if they will rub and make a short circuit, and then you complain that the BMW is a shitty car and catches fire , and don't compare mathematics with cars 😉😜

i have just had my eye 2.0 installed in my 3 series g20. the rear unit is installed to the left side which i preferred it being central. anyone know why its been installed to the far side on not in the middle ?
Hello ! You will have to ask the technician who did the installation ... maybe he did not pull the cable where he was supposed to, and as a result he did not get the length of the cable to reach to the center of the window...
How long did it take you to finish installing and having the cameras operational?

Hey! Is the installation on the F20 LCI the same as your installation? Is only the unit under the hood? are the pins and connectors the same?
If you want to install it as specified by BMW, you will need to ask for the installation instructions from the BMW dealer in your area, now they may not give you that information because they are technical details used only internally. Or you could search the forums to find leaked information posted by someone

BMW took a simple $20 alibaba dash cam slapped a tiny bmw roundel on it and made it into $1500 labor install job. Literally BMW is the only company on the planet that can do this nonsense.
It is not obligatory to be installed by BMW , it can be installed by anybody else, and it's quite good quality it's heave wi-fi , but it's more expensive that a normal one:)

It’s a dash camera and it also comes with one for the rear. As soon as you turn on the vehicle, it starts recording. When you turn off the vehicle, it stops. You get a voice command that says “recording started” and then “recording stopped. Parking mode activated.” It’s just in case of an accident or anything where you’ll have video as evidence.
Why he and others working on cars wearing gloves? (The gloves still get dirty but you wont be able to feel that dirt when you smudge it on your car) You should never wear gloves working on cars. Just wash your hands as soon as they get dirty. Does anyone else think like this?
Your skin would probably fall off after all that washing haha
I work with gloves for my protection and to protect the parts that i touch, for example you hands are permanently greasy, and i don't want to leave my grease on your leather dashboard or your navigation display ,
