- so ready to start working again... and in order to not burn out with managing a 9-5 WHILE creating content and being a human with hobbies/a social life, I need to do things differently.

We need to remind ourselves, and even those who are looking for work (me), that we are not our jobs. It seems like this is an American thing. Where our identity is what we do. This especially true with men. Not that women don't experience it. I like the idea of FIRE but we gotta enjoy ourselves too. Congrats on getting a new gig. Learn, but have fun, AND have boundaries.
it's SUCH an american thing, it's the first thing we want to know about someone when we meet them -- hi, what do you do for work? as if we are placing a value to that person depending on what their answer is.

Good luck on your first day! I’d be interested to hear how the unemployment has changed the way you want to save or if it hasn’t changed. Do you feel like you want to have a greater emergency fund or invest more? Do you feel you’ll want to be more conservative or be more aggressive?
ohhhh yesss this is something I've been thinking about a lot! it definitely has changed how i think about our savings and what an emergency fund makes ME feel comfortable
