    Thank you for sharing! I like hearing how others do things, often I try out their methods. Sometimes I adopt them or an adaptation. I have a request totally unrelated to the video. At the end you finish while standing in front of a tree you used four years ago for your split tail Blake's hitch video. I was wondering what that branch on the right looks like after four years? I'll look through more recent videos, but maybe you could point me to one that shows the tree? Stay safe and keep being awesome.

      You're welcome. Yes net working and keeping an open mind is a great way to go. I picked up a lot of the techniques I show that way. The limb on the right was a co-dmoninant stem that was competing with the main leader with lots of movement. I didn't want to remove it at the base because I was not sure what the irrigation would do to it. I broke the drop-crotch rule cut at small diameter branch sofar it hardened up but it is not showing decay yet. Thank you!

      @@BinoH Glad to hear it. It caught my attention in the previous video and when I saw the same camera angle today I was looking to see how it had fared but it doesn't show up behind you. Thank you for answering my trivial question! Be safe.

      I was body thrusting using ddrt my climbing hitch was a Michoacan with a 24" HRC prussik cord and a Hitch Climber Pulley. Thank you for watching!

    Thank you sir. Can I ask your approx weight so I can already figure out how strong 4" diameter is.

    • @BinoH
      @BinoH  4 роки тому +2

      Yes I am 240 pounds. The important thing to do is learn the tree species and how strong each speciea can be.

    Good instructional video Sir, one question though... Your using a H.C pulley yet you didn't clip the terminal end of your line back onto the pulley, strange, 🤔

    • @BinoH
      @BinoH  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, if you have a spliced eye rope it is a good idea to clip your standing line to the top of the Hitch Climber Pulley, but if you are using a termination knot it could rub against your friction hitch and possibly cause you to slide. Since I'm kind of big when I climb DDRT I separate my termination end and climbing hitch. It's a little more comfortable on my hips.

    • @Toyotaamazon80series
      @Toyotaamazon80series 4 роки тому +1

      @@BinoH You can tie a termination knot with a big loop, eg a bowline or a figure of eight so the body of the knot doesn't contact your hitch. You should try another harness like the T.M or the M.B, 👍🌲🇮🇪

    If your boss tells you to tie into something smaller than your calf or ankle find a new boss. Tie in to limbs bigger than your thigh

    • @BinoH
      @BinoH  4 роки тому +4

      Thant would not work for me. My thighs are 7.5 inch I wouldn't have a high enough tie in point.

    Bino you said if the rope snaps Your gonna fall to the ground 😳. pretty sure what you meant was , if the branch or limb fails that your were lanyards was secured to, failed you would fall ? as a young climber back in 1990 , a foreman at the time told me , don’t tie into anything smaller than your wrist. I believe your information on this video is much suited for regular tree work, at the time I was doing powerline pruning. Is that a Podocarpus or other known as a fur pine your in ? Ps love your videos . Joe

    • @BinoH
      @BinoH  4 роки тому +3

      hillbilly Yo, Yes you're right I meant if the branch snapped. True electrical line work is a whole different animal. Yes the tree is an African Fern Pine( Podocarpus gracilior) but I think the new name is (Aforcarpus falcatus ). Thank you for taking the time to watch the video. Take care Joe.

    I’m bout 125lbs and I use much smaller tie in points then this at about 140lbs climber can tie in as small as his wrist

    • @BinoH
      @BinoH  4 роки тому +1

      Yes this is a genaral rule of thumb. When a climber starts out it's a good starting point when he or she evolves in climbing they will become familure with the diffent type of trees (strength and weakness) and learn what size they can use for a tie in point.
