Finally.....your video goes above and beyond.....than just showing how to tie the knots.....you show the viewer in the proper perspective in which you are showing how you are making the knot from your view of your hands.......other videos would show them doing upside down...backwards......thank you very much sir for a great video...for some ground guy basics......
Golden nugget information. The first tree service I worked for was after hurricane Andrew hit South Florida. I did not start a chainsaw for a year. Dragged, stacked and chipped brush mostly. You certainly are a treasure chest of information for anyone in the business. There's so called experts that couldn't tie two of the knots you explained. By me waiting on the ground and learning made my transition into the trees very successful.
Incredible video. I love how you explain it in the order in which it would take place in the job ( throw line first, climb line, saw, rigging line, etc..). Very well spoken and concise.
Always great information Bino. I don’t think people understand that your channel is a blessing for the new folks , who are looking for information . books are great but physically seeing someone go through excellent technique and great how to videos .. really makes a Learning fun and cool , your videos also helps me , help out the new tree working enthusiast. when I watch one of your videos, I practice with one of the younger generation of arborist , so that they get proper technique down and get them off to a good start. In the arboriculture industry. Joe
With that mid line slip knot for sending gear up I like to pull the loop from the hanging end & not the tail end. This way the slip knot can't open up on accident under the load you're sending. As long as those ropes are I'm sure it's no big deal but I'm a pain in the butt about safety. Plus the knot still falls out once the clip is removed.
Thanks Bino! This is very helpful. What brand of chainsaw lanyard is that? How would you attach the lanyard to your saddle in regards to the primary connection? How do you like your Echo top handle? Is that a 255T or 355T?
It's from weaver, I clip into the sliver ring on my belt and use the boat clip with large silver ring on the chainsaw lanrard. The Eco is CS 301 top handle saw are great when you are climbing. Thank you!
The Pile Hitch is infinitely better than the clove hitch for connecting your throwline to the rope initially. Just my opinion. It comes undone wayyy easier. At any rate, wonderful video, Bino! Keep them coming.
A cool way I tie the saw on is I take the belly of the Rope I run it under the handle than around the break no knots needed quick fast simple never fails. I use the same method though that you do to tie the stick saw on
Very good video... I think the slip knot was upside down. It could pull out and the saw drops....eeek. you need to do the loop and grab the upper rope. Correct me if I'm wrong...
I watch the slip knot part over and then ran over grabbed the leash and tied the same way with a some weight and it doesn't slide. Pretty sure it right. Thanks!
Never had a prob with runnin bow on the ground. But up a tree aftr years i found it harder, shit got it done just been so long. Great vid an yesr climbers aint shit without good company. Cheers
Bino! Absolutely fantastic video! You are awesome for making this for us newbs, super important beta that helps everyone work as a safe team 😎 being useful and work smarter not harder in full effect enabling honest profit by conserving time effectively 🤙 thank you Bino aloha
Nice video. Me and my mate always thought that there should be a curriculum for groundies to learn. These are a few good points, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about letting someone else set my anchor and touch all my ropes 😬 !
Your slip knot that you showed to attach the chainsaw lanyard to the orange rope needs to be changed. When you make the loop you grab a bite from the upper end of the line. If not, whatever load is being pulled up can/will slip thrive the knot & just elongate the bite.
We made a follow up video on that topic. Where I tie the slip knot in the same way and lift my son who weighs 120 pounds by connecting him to the slip knot. The slip not did not budge.
Good vid, like use a little beener now atach bottom of the bag. But yer take time flakin an take time climbers when ya thro. Cos twigs n shit can just ruin ya. Really take time in then go. Cheers great vid
A bit if music for the intro & outro is fine, but when it's playing in the background for the whole video I have to turn the volume off. Other than that, you put out some great stuff.
I was a groundman , until I showed up with newer equipment than the boss owned , then he fired me ? I was just tired of using junk that wouldn't work correctly ..
Show it from your point of view so people can practice by watching u exactly.. Otherwise they gotta do rocket math to figure out what u just did in reverse.. Just saying..

Lol I understand that point. For sure the person has to be capable and you would need to have trust in he or she. Thank you!
👏👏👏
