    Great video. It just popped up on my list and I am subscribing! I have wondered if a Hawaii cruise from San Diego would be too many sea days for me. I got seasick on a cruise on the first sea day out of Fort Lauderdale in November at the tail end of hurricane Nicole. I thought 5 sea days in a row would be too much to take but watching how you handled it made me think it could be doable with medication. We started cruising late in life because I never wanted to cruise due to motion sickness. Our first cruise was a 12 day Mediterranean with Holland America in 2019 for our 50th anniversary and it was amazing in a Neptune Suite with all the amenities. We then had to pause because of Covid restrictions. We just did a Caribbean cruise in November in a balcony stateroom which had a few hiccups at the beginning because of the hurricane and a couple of other passenger emergencies but was amazing after that. I’m thinking that a cruise this year would be a great way to celebrate my 80th birthday and your video has given us some inspiration. I look forward to viewing your other videos. All the best on your future adventures.

      Hey guys! Thanks for checking it out. You sound to be way more an expert than us! We have only done the East/West/Southern Caribbean cruises before we finally went on this Holland America Line Mexican Riviera & Circle Hawaii Collector Cruise. I am going to be 71 in June, and you & I both know that we have to go for the gusto while we still know what gusto is! I say make certain to take this cruise!

    Mark is very fortunate to have such an understanding wife. Five days at sea and being somewhat sea sick can be a real downer for the trip. I know my wife would not be able to take such an issue and the trip would be miserable for us all. Nice change of pace though from always having motorhome stories.

    They say the ribs on the inside of the dining room reminds you of a cello. Well, I must not be much of a musician because those ribs in the dining room looks like the ribs on the inside of a large whale. lol. I thoroughly enjoy your videos so keep up the good work. I have a question for you. I have been told by friends that have taken several cruises not to go for more than 14 days because you'll get tired of being on the ship if you go for more than 14 days. Going back to RVing. When I retired 19 years ago my (and I say "MY" not "OUR") plans was to sell everything and go fulltime, but when I mentioned this to my lovely bride I was inform real quickly that that was never going to happen. I reckon that's what I love so much about my darling wife is that when she says something she means it. To this day, 19 years later she's still sticking to her answer of not fulltiming it. She thought it would be better living with me fulltime in a sticks and bricks but boy did she get the bad end of that deal. Lol.

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  Рік тому +1

      I think a 7 day cruise is WAY too short, and 14 days is a good sweet spot for almost everyone to start with or eventually go on. Once you go on your first 14 day cruise, you will know if a 24 day one is for you. We loved being on it that long. You are a smart man Joe for listening to your wife when she said NO to full time RVing. You have to BOTH be invested 100% to make the full time RVing lifestyle work. It is NOT for most folks. Things happen, and some conveniences must be compromised on. It is SUPER expensive. We were just at NIRVC Las Vegas for around $17k, and last week were were at NIRVC Dallas for $5k, and today we are at Premier Truck (Freightliner) in South Dallas for $4k.
