- For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... Here's a little legato line that uses some hybrid picking and also arpeggios and string skipping to get a nice flowing sound. Inspired by the man Tom Quayle who I think is one of the first types of people I saw doing this sort of thing?

I have a question about how do you see your neck when improvising, do you use the CAGED system to see chord tones or do you see it more ala Tom Quayle with intervallic functions ?

Splendid playing as always Sir. I wonder why that splatty distortion on the low strings doesn't bother you. It surely is not caused by your technique. It sounds like the digital distortion can't handle the low notes. Don't you hear that?
I will try this. I am really bad at this kind of thing. I pick every note other than hammer- ons, pull- offs and slides. Tried it, it was too hard to follow your fingers. It is not always easy to see exactly what not is being played. Also, you say then you play "the arpeggio." What arpeggio?
