ha ha, jokes on you, i sound bad for so many other reasons.
You're always one step ahead!
At least my hair is in tune with my bed.
I appreciate this video quite a bit. I generally can set up and intonate a guitar by ear, using a tuner intermittently to check where I'm at. As a luthier in a former life, I've been trying to envision this guitar for years in my mind. WONDERFUL!!
So cool! We've got some more vids coming out about tuning and intonation!
No joke about your ear adapting. I played my TT seven string exclusively when I first got it, when I played one of my other guitars I retuned several times thinking something was wrong! Finally realized it was in fact that different from the TT guitar. Thanks for posting.
Fascinating - I spotted one of these recently while checking out a new Strat . . . will head back and take a proper look and listen!
Very interesting video. I always thought the squiggly frets were cosmetic. Now I know why they are actually squiggly!! Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed the education! Brian knows music very well.
Cool. Ordered one!
You’re gonna love it!
Great video. I like your videos together !
Thanks so much! Brian's the best!
Paul davids did a video about true temperament guitars and paired one with a regular 12tet guitar and it had a really cool chorus like effect.
Many thanks for your video I've been watching you for a while and like it and I like your buddy that you have on also I think you guys are fun to watch at the same time I guess I haven't been keeping up with things but I would guess that is your brother am I correct anyway great job keep up the videos and the good work thanks again Tim Colorado Springs Colorado.
Expensive but still very cool. Thanks for the cool video.
Thanks! Yeah it's a pretty interesting concept!
Enjoyed the explanation at the start. How about a fretless one? You already tried a lot of non-conventional instruments but I don't remember you ever having a go at a fretless guitar so yeah... curious on that one.
You know I've never actually played a fretless! I'll have to get ahold of one!
What is the tuning app with different temperaments you mentioned around 8:45?
A440 OR 432 ? Does it handle open tunings or is the TT just for standard tuning ?. Am I thinking this thru properly ? It does sound sweet.
If I had Sean's money I'd order one today!
It will be revolutionary if they lower the price.. But for now, I think the saddle out of the straight frets which we used to is way good to go...
What alternate tuning with different intervals (open G or whatever)?
There's this little known musician called Bach who wrote some ditties based on this equal temperament stuff.
Yeah but Sebastian been on that shit fur Elise forever now LMAO
Well-TEMPERED clavier
Just wondering how the fret slots are cut for these kind of frets.
Hey Daddio.... I'm only subscribed to like 4 guitar channels Now... they dont ever really answer their comments... You're one of my top 4 fav guitar guy channels PEACE
Thanks for letting me make the cut!
Ur the Best
:)
What is the name of the tree block device?
Tremol-no.
Well, I want those tuners... what are they? I am doing a custom build. Custom wood, custom everything...
I hope I'm not making too much off a mess should I tone down my notes?
I think you need to squiggle your frets.
@seandaniel23 great advice. Thank you I will take that on board I get carried away sometimes on the gutair 😎
This fretboard isn't equally tempered though. It's another temperament (Thidell formula 1) which is fudged towards the "common" "guitar keys" according to their website.
It _can not_ be "sweet in all keys", that's a mathematical impossibility. In order for some intervals to be better, others have to be worse, and you'll also be out of tune with equal tempered instruments.
It might be cool for solo guitar, but some intervals are going to be worse than on a regular guitar, and you'll be a bit out of tune with other equal tempered instruments.
They would be out of tune more technically no?
I figured tech geeks might watch this one, so why isn't there an electronic headstock guitar? Meaning a headstock with a built in tuner instead of tuning keys? (You could add the function of putting off by +/- 2cents)
Musicians and coders don't think the same so the electric guitar never properly integrated electronics
I’ve seen/ heard tommy Emmanuel talking about tuning
So much to it
Those frets must take some getting use too
That's the weirdest thing cause I thought so, too. But right away they felt normal. Really interesting.
$3,500 for a guitar, I would hope it would stay in tune! 😁
I've never seen a guitar get bashed up so badly in transit. Poor packaging.
This thing of perfectly intonated guitars is just horrible, it's anti-musical, for hundreds of different reasons.
As long as you don't ever bend....
Why would that matter?
