This is also my all-time favourite movie; it forever captured my youth as I was 13-years-old when it was released in theaters and I'm 13 each and everytime I watch the movie. You are spot on about it being the ultimate blockbuster movie for all the reasons you touched base on. I think another variable that should be mentioned was the choice of director. James Cameron was originally tasked with writing and directing, he even wrote a a treatment for it but he also wanted it to be an R-Rated movie. I'm sure it would still have been great if James Cameron wrote and directed it but I don't think it would've had as much staying power and been as impactful if Steven Spielberg hadn't directed it. Spielberg understood it needed to be a family-friendly adventure movie. Also, it's not that Spielberg didn't want to show the shark but the mechanical shark didn't work most of the time so he had to shoot around it which clearly worked out for the best in the end. In turn he learned a valuable lesson from JAWS which is less is more. One other thing. In previous movies about dinosaurs they were always portrayed as monsters and killing machines whereas in JP they were portrayed as animals with great strength and animal instincts.Thank you for the video and your thoughts about the greatest movie ever made!

I could’ve listed a million things that would’ve made my case even stronger but thought it best to try and keep it around 10 mins lol I also would’ve been very curious to see Cameron’s horror version of it, but I’m definitely glad we got Spielbergs family adventure!
@@kiksta My favourite scene would have to be the one in the rain when the T-Rex causes the vehicle to roll upside down with John's grandkids inside. A lot of intensity!

Was just rewatching it on Foxtel. An absolute masterpiece. Earned 915 Million Dollars at the end of its theatrical run and that was in 1993!
